  1. Thanks. I work out every day, including a five mile run/jog, push ups, sit ups, scissors and jumping jacks, etc. So I’m in decent shape. However, I don’t think I could do what is required of you guys and girls.
  2. What are the physical requirements?
  3. “The greatest victory for Satan was convincing the world he doesn’t exist.”-from a movie called The Usual Suspects.
  4. I’ve never served in the armed forces, but I’ve worked at jobs where your coworkers would rather be anywhere else. I’m not saying everyone has to be 100% every day, that’s not reality. But it’s a real morale killer to be with people day in and day out who are only going through the motions or worse, clearly don’t want to be there. I can’t imagine what it’s like if your very life depends on someone like the coworkers I’m describing
  5. That’s nice. As a teenager we didn’t know that. Nor would any of us have cared. We were all stunned she went into the army. I was simply telling @JohnsonJones that the “anti-military” thought was around when I was in high school as well.
  6. Sadly, this was popular in the 90’s too when I was a kid. One of my best friends in childhood joined the army right out of high school and all of us were stunned. She could have gone to any college in the Northeast and no one saw this coming.
  7. We do, and a lot of us would go the extra mile and would refuse to see our sons/nephews drafted as well.
  8. as long as others don’t use that as a crutch to treat people like rubbish, I generally agree.
  9. Yeah, that’s too far and I agree with you there. But how we treat others matters, especially those who know nothing about the church. I don’t want people to know I’m LDS and walk away thinking all LDS are abrasive prigs. So I don’t act like one.
  10. Bedside manner and how you treat people doesn’t matter?
  11. Our exchange student landed safely in China. We heard from him via WeChat.
  12. Lol! You are awesome bro. Lol.
  13. I love all that. In fact, why I lean towards the open borders side of the debate is because I think America is so special and wonderful that everyone should be able to take part in it. We do need border security, I’m not against that. I’m against alarmism and false stories about Chinese invasions though. Got me there.
  14. Math indeed. This is yet another crazy story that will be forgotten in six weeks. Thinking that the Chinese have sleeper cells in America shows a cute imagination, and no actual sense how the Chinese government works. If there really was a Chinese plan to arm immigrants against our government, they’d come in nice and legally. The last thing they would want is a risky plan to cross the border. And you wouldn’t be hearing about it either. But out of all the things to worry about, this is dead last.
  15. 99.9% of the “Chinese” that are illegal immigrants are here for a new life in America. Not for armed insurrection.
  16. Oh, agree. I checked out of the details here, and I was only speaking about the missionary involvement.
  17. I feel sorry for the missionaries that have gotten caught up in such drama. They are there to spread the gospel. Poor kids. 😞
  18. If anyone is interested, the video I posted is from the documentary, New York Doll. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Doll The Dolls were a vastly influential and moderately successful punk band from the 70’s. Kane was a member of the band and converted to the LDS faith late in life. Outstanding doc.
  19. @zil This guy fronted one of my all time favorite bands, The New York Dolls. An absolutely gorgeous version. I feel the spirit every time I hear this.
  20. Bro, I am beyond lost. You have so many “this may be, this might be, perhaps” that I’m not sure anyone can give you solid, insightful advice. That said, I really do wish you the best.
  21. Right, they are jackasses too. Being a fool is universal. Having said that, pre-Trump conservatives could generally laugh at themselves and most on the left could not do the same.
