I have been paying my tithing regularly since i became active again and never miss a beat to pay it. Well last week my manager said he got a report saying that my timecard was not approved in time to meet the deadline for this pay period so that i would be getting the money on the next paycheck. i was very worried because this is my rent-check and i was afraid i would not have the money to pay my rent, me and i my wife were very worried. then today my direct deposit went through as usual with the regular amount! my managers were shocked because it's not technically possible. someone is looking out for me big time.

It's an interesting notion to be loyal to the faith of our fathers. there is a great talk given by one of our general authorities in the most recent conference on this very same subject. Faith of Our Father it's a wonderful talk based around the fact that almost all members of the LDS church are converts and that the denomination of our fathers may be different from our own. but the faith is still the same, the faith we had in god is sstill the same if not stronger. though he puts it in better words than i could ever hope to do.

My wife was catholic untill february and out of repsect for her parents i attented a few of thier services and it helped me understand my own faith better, helped me understand certain scripture and strengthened my own testimony as a Latter-day Saint.

just a quick question...Are you from RF.com? but back you your question. by Eucharist i'm assuming you mean what we call the sacrament, the breaking of bread and water (wine for catholics). There is the Aaronic priesthood and the Melchizedek, The Aaronic priesthood has the authority to perform the outward ordinances like the Sacrament and Baptisms. while the higher priesthood is in authority over the whole of the church and administers in the more spiritual ordinances such as blessing the sick, and temple ordinances. We believe it (the Sacrament to us, or Eucharist to you) represents the Body and Blood of Christ. in rememberance of his sacrifice. we view this as a renewing of our baptisimal covenants to always remember him and keep his commandments. and in return we recieve the blessings of always having his spirit with us and to have his guidance in all things. We don't view the ordinance of blessing and passing the sacrament as a sacrifice, we view it as just that, blessing and passing it by those who are in authority to do so. what it represents in our minds in the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Remember the Lord did not give Man the spirit if Fear, for that is what Satan wants for you is to be in fear. Satan wants you kept as far away from the doors of the chapel and the Temple walls as possible for himt o do. But we mortals have the ability to overcome fear witht he help of the Lord. If you have done nothign you should have no reason to fear. I was inactive for many years because of personal transgression and iw as SO SCARED to come back to church and fess up to what i had done and it kept me away for many years until one day i just could no longer have this guilt anymore. and the lord blessed me with wonderful missionaries whom i will never forget. If you have no reason to be scared i can assure you these feelings are not of the Lord. and you first have to recognize that before you can make any progress. The Lord loves you and does not want you to live in fear of anything. i wish the best of luck and Love to you during your trials. in the words of President Monson "Come Back!"

Remember, Line upon Line, Precept on precept. the gospel is progressive, you don;t wake up tomorrow and feel completely different about everything just because you know the Gospel is True. Take everythign in small bites, when you notice yourself fighting against something, stop for a moment, take a step back, ponder it in your mind and pray about it and ask the Lord to let you know what is true and what is real. just take it one step at a time.

you know. i think i know what you are talking about but i don;t think it has to do with gender to each person there are different ranges of looks or desireable traits in a person that appear at random on nayone regardless of gender. This is where Satan tries to confuse us and trip us up. He uses our likes in certain features to tempt us and try to get us to think we are screwed up or "messed up" when in reality it is just the flaws of our flesh. do nto worry so much about it. and if something makes you feel uncomfortable then just don't look at it or go away from it and have a perfectly good heterosexual experience. go look at a hot woman or something, trian you rmind away form it and it will get easier, If you are in the presence of someone that makes you feel uncomfortable you can just leave.

i expected more from the LDS on this fourm. Stop trying to push the limits to what you can and cannot do "just because" Is drinking neer beer going to get you to the celestial kingdom? no it certainly does nothing for that.

Drinking any kind of alchohol at any time or any amount is not good for your body and the Lord has prohbited it. The lord said in D&C that it doesn't matter what is used for the sacrament because what truely matters is the symbolism. and then stated further that we were to cease to use wine.

Wrong. Tithing does not pay for them nor do they have a "salary" they recieve a living allowance that comes out of the church's own investments like Beneficial Life Insurance and other companies that the church has investments in like ZMCI before it went broke. Out Tithing goes to everything else in the church.

The problem with this answer is: The Catholics pull this all the time.... "God works in mysterious ways" and saying other such nonsense like that. (not trying to stab at our catholic brethren, But i do believe that not answering a question is worse than wrongly answering it) While there is something to be said for the priesthood Power beign able to remove mountains and such. I think alot of people who have had ideas regarding science and things were definitely inspired of God to help us understand the nature of our universe, Laws of physics, quantum mechanics, Light particles and other such fields of study have opened up a vast field of knowledge. for instance, The urim and Thummim..... People Say god is all knowing right? and then we have free will right? well how can we have free will if God knows what we are goign to do before we do it. I propose thos theory - God is all knowing because he knows all of the possible outcomes of our decisions, he also has raised us and formed our spirits and knows us each personally and how we react in different situations based on an eternity of preparing us to come to earth. How does he know all of the outcomes? look at Chess for example. Computer nowadays can map out all possible combinations of chess moves and outcomes of a given game from a clean chess set-up. all of the possible algorithims is an astonishingly high number and not something that is easly described as a single number but as a mathematical therum. Well imagine a being with far superior intelligence than everyone on the earth combined. a being could easily deduce the most logical outcome in any given situation based on the position of the pieces. We do not suprise God, but i'm sure we disappoint him because he wants us to do certain things but then we go ahead and not do them. Why do you think he got angry enough to flood the whole earth? because his children were being exceptionally bad and not doing what he had hoped they would do. But he did what he knew they were capable of doing. Now, the greath urim and Thummim is a sea of Sire and Glass correct? how else would you describe what you saw in a vision when you have no idea what a Plasma LCD screen is back in the 1800's? I know if i saw one i would think it was fire and glass.... computer technology, advanced microphysics, Neural Networks, the internet... ALL i am very sure exist spiritually as wella s physically. how do you think we will learn things int he Celestial Kingdom? we have to be taught right? Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. a Black hole is theory is the onyl thing capable of destroying matter, but even then it is not destroyed. the speghettification woudl rip anything that goes past the event horizon apart then go into an orbit around the singularity point and then later (if a certain theory is correct) ejected out past the event horizon once it has gained enough velocity. so quite possibly this is the "outer Darkness" to which the Lord refers to. Celestial - Glory of the Sun..... the first inner 3 planets being Mercury Venus and Earth. as we know there are 3 tiers int he Celestial kindom as well. then you take a look at the rest of the planets..... Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The largest planets in the solar system, Terrestrial - Glory of the Moon.... light is not as bright on those planets and thier massive size would make for enough room for all of the Many masses of people who will be in that particular kingdom. Then you have Uranis, Neptune Pluto, Eris, and Ceres..... The Telestial kingdom, the glory of the stars.... not as many people will go here as the 2nd kingdom but the planets in comparasin tot he size of ours is still spectacular and gargantuan.... maybe our Solar system will become the 3 degrees of Glory? that would make sense considering that there is a purpose to everything, all of the planets and stars....

we are not to judge any of them you know what? maybe Hitler never had the opportunity to hear the gospel. maybe he was clinically insane? maybe he is taught the gospel in the hereafter and accepted it and repented of his sins? How would you react if you saw Hitler in the Celestial kingdom? But according to scripture if he did not accept the gspel he would obtain either the telestial or Terrestrial kingdom

If you take a look at the rest of the Bible you wills ee how easily peopel forget thier God even, and ESPECIALLY, during bountiful times. Now, from a completely objective standpoint. The Caotholic church claims it's succession from peter, but.... The original founder of the Catholic church was Ignatius of Antioch who of course claimed to be a diciple of peter's and his office was said to be that of a bishop. That office of Bishop is an office of the lesser, levitical, or the prepartory preisthood back in Jesus' time. the apostles were ordained with the higher, or Melchezidek priesthood, that same priesthood Jesus Christ held. But in order for the priesthood to be conferred there would have required 3 of the apostles to be present, this could not have been the case since thier dispursement across the world on missionary efforts to each of the churches. It is my belief that Ignatius may have indeed held the lesser priesthood and had tried to organize the remnants of the church after the apostle's death. but the problem was the higher authority was no longer present. and thus the church lost it's authority to act in God's name. Yes, Jesus did say "upon this rock" and suo forth, and he did not lie, Because when the priesthood keys were restored to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdry, it was at that time Peter, James, and John, then translated beings, the promise was definitely fulfilled that upon the rock of Peter, this great work was brought forth among the children of men for the final dispensation. I would pose a question to you CatholicGirl, how do you explain the prophesies of Isaiah? or the Book of Revelation, especially the part about an angel with a book that contained the everlasting gospel? If the everlasting gospel was already present, why would there be a need for an angel to bring it to the earth?

you sound like me no seriously.... it's creepy..... I Was inactive for many years and iw as also told in my partiarchial blessing that i would be called to serve a mission. but alas, i was a very rebellious teenager and due to choices in my life iw as also unable to serve a mission. and only in the last year came back to church and fixed my life back in shape. But i feel i must share with you to not worry, because the lord has a plan for all of us, while those who we may have made promises to int he pre-existence may be disappointed with our actions, everythign that needs to be done will be done either by us or someone who is capable of fulfilling that calling. We all make mistakes and we all live with mistakes but as i look back on my life and the things that have happened, i don't feel they could have happened any other way, the lord knows me and put me in places where i needed to be at the right time even though i was in an awful state. I met my wife at a nightlcub, but i have had the privledge of seeing her and her family begging me in the pre-existence to find them and bring them to the gospel. (this was before i was active again in church mind you that i was given this insight) and after long talks with my mother and praying about things i know that i would have been in a position to meet her at some point in my life even if i had returned home from a mission. i am so greatful that my father in heaven allowed us to be together even though i was in such an awful state of rebellion. she has made me a better person. other experiences i have had between my wife, the lord, and i have all made it very clear that we were supposed to be together. all you need to do is ask the lord for guidance in all things, and when the time is right, you will know it, and the lord will bless you with all of the thing neccisary for you to take care of her and have a wonderful life.

I don't think that it will change, or that we are "out of date", because i do believe honestly that liek you said, men have a higher propensity to Sin. leaving many many women out int he cold without worthy husbands to be sealed to or married to. And whil ei think that things will work themselves out beyond the viel, i'm sure there will be some men and women who were married to someone who was not worthy of inheriting the celestial kingdom. these people should not be punished for thier spouses Descisions, but instead will be given to other worthy men or women who are in need of a companion.

but it doesn't say exactly HOW it happened aside from, that God commanded it. But God commands things to happen in a natural order of things. i also see it alot with skeptics or scientists who try to explain certain magnificent events like pillars of fire or a river turning to blood. these very well could have been natural occurances that God commanded to happen at a specific time. I'm also not stating anything about being in "good standing" with the church or any such thing. it's merely my persepctive as to exatly "HOW" things were organized in the beginning, and "WHY", How being Science and Why Being our father in heaven's plan.

That will never happen. women sealed int he temple to a worthy priesthood holder int hier own right to hold the priesthood. and they can call upon thier husband's preisthood through prayer to thier heavenly father. a temple marriage is a marriage between 3 people, the bride, the groom, and christ. and he will not withold any blessings from those who seek him dilligently. This is not to say that a woman can just go around giving blessings through her husband's priesthood, but rather ask the lord for blessing for those (like her family) who need it through her husband's priesthood authority through prayer. Poligamy will not be needed in ehaven, and those who do not have the opportunity to be sealed int he temple in thsi life will have that opportunity extended to them for those who are worthy of recieveing it. The ONLY place where marriages are valid in heaven IS in the Celestial Kingdom in the top tier. all other places they are neither married nor given in marriage, and are ministering angels.

That's a wonderful thing and i am happy for you, i will try to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge. This is an age old queston. I tend to think about it like this, without the priesthood, we would just be men, while mothers have motherhood and sisterhood and may other responsibilities that go with it. The priesthood brings us up to the same level that women already are at. The priesthood is not "Power" it's not some gift bestowed upon us so that we can control thigs. It is a calling, and a requirement to serve. It is one of the biggest responsibilities and our salvation depends on it. If we fail to use our priesthood, abuse our priesthood, or misuse our priesthood authority. it is extremely detrimental to our salvation. Certain things are traditions and certain things are ceremonial. as far as i know the viel over her face is a tradition, and not neccisarily a "requirement". the actual ceremony is the only requirement, the certain things said and the priesthood authority used. Those are the key components to the greatest blessing the temple has for us. Poligamy was not a mistake, It has merely been suspended for a season. I do not know the particular reason this has not been changed but i now that it is that way for a reason. and that in the Lord's own due time all things will be revealed. The only way anyone can achieve exaltation in the celestial kingdom is to be married and sealed in the temple. otherwise those who did not abide the everlasting covenant will be ministering angels, and servants unto those who are deserving of a higher state. Man + Woman = God. Our father in heaven has a heavenly wife. and she is our heavenly mother.
