    Tithing

I have to pay my tithing when I get my checks, which is every 2 weeks, otherwise I'd forget if I paid it or not. SO like the others have said, whatever works best for you.
  3. Welcome and I hope that we can help :)
  4. Leeann, Why am I a bully?? I am curious if Aphrodite received the same counsel as I did. If asking questions that you don't like is bullying the I guess I'm guilty. As for it being a women only thread, I actually never paid any attention to where it was posted, I just saw it in the new post section. Sorry. But I am still allowed my opinion, as are you, and my questions still stand. WHY? Thanks

  7. Aphrodite- Why did you go to the Temple in the first place? Was it because thats what was expected of you? Was it because that was the only way your husband wanted to marry? Sorry, but I'm curious. As someone who moved away from the church as a teen and then finding my way back to it 20 yrs later, I find peoples excuses for forgetting their covenants interesting. If you just did what your were told, you'd have been back to the Temple by now. So I guess you listen to the parts that only make sense to you or that sounds good to you... and everything else is just poppycock right?!?! Let me suggest again, go back to the temple... pay close attention, learn what is expected of you... are you will to follow that counsel that you receive in the temple? Last question..... you seem to dislike the church or at least some of the things taught by our Prophets and Apostles, why do you continue to come to sites like these that promote that counsel?? Why punish yourself with having to hear others talk about how their lives have changed from following counsel, when ever time its mentioned you seem to have something negative to say about it. I see that people dislike and leave the church, but they cannot seem to leave the church and its people alone. Just my humble opinion......
  8. May I suggest that you follow the counsel of the Prophets and Apostle and return to the temple often, so that you can remember.
  9. Thanks Hemi, I hope this link can help us to be more useful in finding these children
  10. The doctrine of Polygamy was removed from the earth and it won't be reinstalled until the Lord decides that it is needed again.
  11. Dude, you rock.... your service and sacrifice is giving you many "bricks" in Heaven.... lol
  12. Word-- Absolutely, the main problem is that most would rather watch TV, Internet, etc. then to do their callings and then turn around and tell you that theres not enough time in the day.
  13. I also believe we a taught to be in the world and not of the world. Which means, in my mind, that we should seek after the good things of the world. By "good things", I mean the things of the Lord, not what man considers good. We all know how man can distort what the Lord whats for us. :)
  14. Leeann wrote: "If I was told that I have too wear my temple garments regardless of the heat then I guess I would have too. I will wait until an order is given, but until then I do what I have to do." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would really have liked to sit in on your orientation and also as you went through the initiatory. Obviously what you heard during yours and what I heard during mine were completely different.
  15. It amazes me how people can justify to themselves and try to rationalize to others how easy it is to put off covenants they have made. If you don't want or need the protection that you were guaranteed then the choice is yours, you don't have to convince the rest of us that your decision was right.
  16. I find it interesting and sad that many of us have made covenant to give of our time and talents, yet we bock when we are asked to do something or anything. Now, if you are one of those that actually follow through with your callings, then I'm not talking to you. But there are quite a few who won't or can't or ... you get the idea. We can make excuses all day long and for some of us its become a great way to waste time "we don't have". I work approx. 120 miles from were my callings take place and somehow I find the time to visit with my home teaching families and fulfill my calling as EQ secretary. Now I'm not trying to brag, I just want people to realize that if they want to, they can find a way to complete their callings. The difference I see is that I take the covenants and commandments I agreed to serious.
  17. Hello and welcome
  18. Welcome and enjoy... hope we can help you find what you're looking for :)
  19. Thank you ladies, I hope you know how much your service is appreciated!
  20. Hemi, Can you clarify this for me?! Thanks
  21. Hijolley, Just a point of interest to me and probably not many others, but in the mouth's of two or three witnesses.... I have seen and heard many of our (LDS) leaders repeat this statement. To me that qualifies it as doctrine. I'm sure I'm wrong in so many ways, but if multiple prophets have repeated it, it must be right.

  23. Yes, thank you and I hope you enjoy yourself here :)
  24. Jason, thank you for your service and sacrifice. I was reading your post and the thought stuck me that you could look to Mormon as a guide. There is a man who spent the majority of his life at war, 16 - 74 (I believe), and still knew that to be Christ like he had to have charity for his fellow man. I would like to encourage you to read your scriptures, I think Mormon's story would be a great place to begin again. Say your prayers, I would caution you that the adversary will try everything within his power to convince you that the Lord doesn't hear your prayers!! Pay even and especially when you don't feel like it. Call upon your Lord and Savior for his help, and follow his council. Seek help from the best of places. I wish you the best and pray that you'll find the comfort and help that you need and seek.
