suzicle Posted July 7, 2008 Report Posted July 7, 2008 Hey there eveyone.. so, it tells me that i am suppose to introduce myself on this site now.. well. I was born on a rainly monday afternoon.. Right off the bat, my mom's heart stopped, lucky my dad was there, he was able to give my mom a blessing and then she was fine. I am the youngest of 7 children. I was raised in the Gospel of Church Jesus of Latter-Day Saints. I was raised in the great state of California and lived there my whole life til i went to college. All my friends were going to Rick's College in Idaho, didnt even really know anything about it. I was there for 2 years and got my AAS in Health and Education. I soon left to prepare for a mission. Since i was a little girl, i always wanted to go on a mission. I went home and worked and prepared and then got my mission call on December 26.... I was so excited to open it... I opened it and read that I was called to labor in the Idaho Boise Mission for 18 months.. I just start to laugh.. my family was like.. "you are going back to Idaho.. you said that you loved it there"... so yeah.. i served a mission in Idaho and just loved it. well.. now I am here.. its been almost 3 years since I have been home from my mission and some days it feels like yesterday... i have been living in Utah County going to school and finishing my degree in Deaf Studies/Ed... I attend my church actitivties and most of all.. I attend Institute. I love INSTITUTE.. its great.. when I moved here, i had no friends here and one day I walked in there and started to make friends. It was a home away from Home and I loved it. well.. that is my life now and i try to be Optimistic !!!! Quote

pam Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 What an awesome introduction. Nice to see someone still call it Ricks College instead of BYU Idaho. I went there...won't mention how many years ago and will always be Ricks to me. Welcome to the site. Quote
john doe Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Welcome! I also am a graduate of Ricks College, but not as far back as Pam. She remembers sitting in the log classroom on the hill not far from where the Manwaring center sits today. At family gatherings she tells stories of having to take her turn at stoking the fires in the wood-burning stove to heat the room so the rest of the students could study without shivering too much.
