The painting was sold for $49 million dollars plus 10% to the auction house bringing the total to $53.9 M The sale was also accomplished in what may have been a record time given the figures involved-the bidding reportedly rose from the starting point of $15m to reach the final sale price in less than two minutes. It is rumoured to have been sold to the Getty for a cost between $55m and $60m!
