Avrham Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Hello My son who is 5yrs old asked this question to the Stake President the other Sunday about the Prophet"Does Joseph Smith be Judged by Jesus too " well the Stake Pres just smiled said "Jesus Loves everyone" my son turned to me with a smile and said"I don't think he get it" well does anyone "get it" He is very curious he wants too be a Catholic priest (much to the horror of my wife?) so he can turn blood into wine and body into bread just wondering about do the Prophets get judged:):):) Quote
MarginOfError Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 They should hope so. If a prophet is never judged, he'll be hanging out in limbo for eternity, and believe me, and eternity of limbo will make your back really sore. Quote
Palerider Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 The Prophet is not perfect....he is human like us...and yes he will be judged just as we will.....:) Quote

Hemidakota Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Joseph is not ressurrected at this time. He still has a dispensation of work that requires to be complete before turning it over back to Adam. Until it is done, he is where he is at, along with prophets and members assigned to help him. Prodigal_Son Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Thinking back to the whole Sidney VS. Brigham debacle, the fact that Brigham transformed into Joseph - whistling "S"es and all - seems to indicate that the Lord approved of Brother Joseph's performance while in this life... Quote
bmy- Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 He'll be judged by a more precise yard-stick than most I would imagine. The more you know.. the more you're responsible for. Something tells me he'll pass the test. Quote
Hemidakota Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 If the Savior showed more than once, I would think so.... Prodigal Son who was the senior Apostle of the church? Brigham or Sidney? Quote
Prodigal_Son Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Prodigal Son who was the senior Apostle of the church? Brigham or Sidney?Brigham, of course. Sydney wasn't exactly on top of his game at that point in time, either... My point was simply that Christ wouldn't have shown His will through a subpar example. It's kind of like the issue of people who think Job was a tall tale - an EXAMPLE, if you will. Yet, why would the Lord trivialize Joseph's suffering in Liberty Jail by telling him "thou art not yet as Job" if Job was merely a fictional character?I believe the use of Joseph's image and voice upon Brigham was a clear indicator of Christ's absolute approval of Joseph Smith. Prodigal_Son Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 The Prophet will also judge us when judging begins, right? 1 Ne. 12:10 And these twelve ministers whom thou beholdest shall judge thy seed. And, behold, they are righteous forever; for because of their faith in the Lamb of God their garments are made white in his blood.Morm. 3: 19And I write also unto the remnant of this people, who shall also be judged by the twelve whom Jesus chose in this land; and they shall be judged by the other twelve whom Jesus chose in the land of Jerusalem.3 Ne. 27:27 (to the Nephite 12 disciples)And know ye that ye shall be judges of this people, according to the judgment which I shall give unto you, which shall be just... bert10 Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 The answer that your 5 year old received was very wise...there is no way a five year can understood the whole doctrine on judgment. However without put an explanation I have put down a few verses as well as what Jesus said..so that men may consider this subject. Who is judged?Escaping judgment.1. Jesus said...."Judge ye not that ye be not judged." So it is possible for men to not be judged.Hebrews 6:1 - THEREFORE leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; [1]not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, [2] and of faith toward God, 6:2 - [3] Of the doctrine of baptisms, and [4] of laying on of hands, and [5]of resurrection of the dead, and [6] of eternal judgment. Hebrews 6:3 - And this will we do, if God permit. They who go to heaven without dying have already been made pure, holy and perfect before GOD. There are some who die as martyred after receiving the promises of Eternal life in the flesh. There is no way to know which of the martyred have received those promises.Peace be unto youbert10HelloMy son who is 5yrs old asked this question to the Stake President the other Sunday about the Prophet"Does Joseph Smith be Judged by Jesus too " well the Stake Pres just smiled said "Jesus Loves everyone" my son turned to me with a smile and said"I don't think he get it" well does anyone "get it" He is very curious he wants too be a Catholic priest(much to the horror of my wife?) so he can turn blood into wine and body into bread just wondering about do the Prophets get judged:):):) Quote
Hemidakota Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 Immortal Beings are made perfect Die in the name of Christ? Those who were called in mortality and received the Second Comforter. All of which may have some eternal rewards. Quote
bert10 Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 (edited) Well it is a little more complicated than that....To be perfected in Christ often occurred in the early churches. Paul records..."Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect yet not the wisdom of this world...." 1 Cor. 2:6Also in Hebrews we are urged to move on unto perfection....Hebrews 6:1 - THEREFORE leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, And this is part of overcoming...we begin to receive the promises from the Lord....Revelation 2:17 - He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give[1]to eat of the hidden manna, and [2] will give him a white stone, and in the stone [3] a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.They who shall receive the fullness of the promises of Eternal life in the Flesh receives it at the hand of the Lord Himself. They shall be told...'to ask whatsoever they will and Jesus will do it.'This is their last day on this earth...that is, if they are not given a mission like the three Nephites or like John. If they are not given a mission they are translated into Zion. Some did ask the Lord to remain and when were in prison... chose die for the Glory of the Father instead of asking to be delivered. P/s Only Those who have the promises can give their life or allow themselves to die. All others do not have this choice..their life can be taken away without their assent. This power to literally give one's life for the Glory of the Father belongs to them who have received the promises. And these do have the power to be delivered whenever they ask from any circumstances or any evil. To allow oneself to die after receiving the gift of eternal life in the flesh is the greatest gift we can give to GOD. And quite a few did and so they shall receive a better resurrection.Hebrews 11:35 - Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: Peace be unto youbert10 Edited December 20, 2008 by bert10 Quote
