Truegrits Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 WOW...lucky there wasn't an accident. It did seem, though, that a lot of cars DID make it up the hill. Quote
Guest SisterofJared Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 This looks like my driveway.... lol. I am the resident manager of a self storage facility. It is built inside the side of a mountain, and our drive way is rather steep. One of our main forms of entertainment in the winter is watching the cars in our driveway.... the semi's making deliveries to the shops also on the property can get really funny... sliding back down the hill when they're trying to go up the hill. It's not so funny when they hit our gate, though. Costs a ton of money to repair. My husband is out putting the studded tires on this very minute... several days later than we needed them. LOL. Hey I really liked the car that traded drivers... and still couldn't make it up the hill! LOL. SoJ Quote
StrawberryFields Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 What scared me was all of the pedestrians!! Quote
Guest SisterofJared Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 I thought of that, too, Strawberry. If it was all as fast of it played, they wouldn't been run over. I think it was really slow though. LOL. Quote

Guest SisterofJared Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 Makes you wonder if driver #2 said, "Move over, I can do it." and got to eat humble pie....lol Quote
jolee65 Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 LOL,.very funny but wow close call for some , glad nobody got hurt . Quote
Jenamarie Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 That was awesome! A couple years ago they had snowfall in Seattle, and a video clip made it onto the news of a car sliding down a hill and hitting car after car after car as you could hear his tires squeeling. The guy holding the camera kept yelling "Let go of the brakes! Let go of the brakes! Let go of the $#*$* brakes!!!!" And I too noticed the ones that changed drivers. Quote
ADoyle90815 Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 I saw the one where they changed drivers as well. I'm glad I live where it doesn't snow unless you're in the mountains and need tire chains. Quote

Guest SisterofJared Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 We do hold auctions... almost every month in the summer, every 2 or 3 months during the winter. Auctions are sad, but sometimes we have no choice. I try to work with people, let them get caught up on payments if possible, but some people never do. A guy came in yesterday and said he wanted to pay his storage. My daughter asked for the unit number... he didn't know, so he gave her his name. She thought it didn't sound familiar... well, we had auctioned his unit in March!!! And sent him notices, etc. but he claimed not to know and was yelling at me. He hadn't made a payment since November of 2007. amd he thinks we still have his stuff safely waiting for him! DUH! You're in this area, right? You can come to the auctions if you want. SoJ Quote
Hemidakota Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Oh man that was funny....especially the person who tried four times to get up the hill. Quote

I don't remember where you said you were from, I'm in California now, bay area. Sometimes my dad would buy them up in Washington them haul the loot, errr... stuff, down to california and sell it at the flea markets here. It is really sad. All the baby books and person pictures and things that were actually worth saving (unlike 95% of the rest of the stuff) But, I know if I didn't buy it, someone else would. I'll be going to some auctions these next few months.... after the holidays is always a good time for them here because people overextend themselves during Christmas then can't pay the bills. Sad for them, a little interesting for me. Quote
