The numbers make a compelling case. The studies Ernst & Young rounded up show that women can make the difference between economic success and failure in the developing world, between good and bad decision-making in the industrialized world, and between profit and loss in the corporate world. Their conclusion: American companies would do well with more senior women.

And it's not only one study, but at least half a dozen, from a broad spectrum of organizations such as Columbia University, McKinsey & Co., Goldman Sachs and Pepperdine University, that document a clear relationship between women in senior management and corporate financial success. By all measures, more women in your company means better performance.

When I was with Merrill Lynch, the Area Director and Regional VP were both women. I probably learned more from them than anyone else in my years in the Investment business. Absolutely awesome people and great managers.

Although I didn't read the article, life experience tells me the tenure is the same. Women are equal to men, except were they are superior to men, which is in everything.

We of the male species don't stand a chance.

Women like me, of course. :P

So hop to it. When can I expect to have my economy all fixed? :)

(Could care less if all of his decisionmakers and leaders are men or women, just so they do their jobs.)

I have suspected for quite some time that this needs to happen in the area of foreign policy. It is nice to know that women are needed in other areas as well.

Dunno about this. I've been with women and men managers in my 25+ years of working experience and I can name a few bad women leaders as well as a few bad men leaders.

So, women have moved from a position of wanting equality to one of superiority?

Never said women wanted anything- the article stated that women get things done in a superior way.

IMO, we are not bogged down with nor hauling around useless baggage in the job market.

Of course this is a generalized statement- there will always be females who do- just as there are males who do not.

As for woman wanting equality in the job market- what we WANT is to be paid equally for doing the SAME job as a man does. Getting paid less for doing the EXACT same job as my male counter part is a crock of pterodactyl poo!!
