PinkCow Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Hellooooo all!Tomorrow is our Halloween party at work.... I bought a 50's outfit.... you know the poodle skirt.... and the top with it, is toooo small.. Ugh, so I have this other top, that I havn't worn yet, but well have been at the bottom of my laundry haper for a while.... is their any way that I could de-wrinkle it, I googled it, and someone said: 'Hang it up in the bathroom near the shower and run the shower extremely hot the steam should loosen the wrinkles.'Any suggestions? PinkCow Posted October 30, 2009 Author Report Posted October 30, 2009 And of course, I'm doing things last minute. Quote
Elphaba Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Iron it? You should take a picture and post it in the gallery! Elph Quote
PinkCow Posted October 30, 2009 Author Report Posted October 30, 2009 I know that! Duh! I don't own an iron... [well my dad doesn't.... shhh, I'm going to buy him one for Xmas] And, the dryers are downstairs...... and they cost 2.00 a load......... and I don't feel like doing a load. LOL Quote
Moksha Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Spray a little water on it and shake it till it's dry. The steamy shower has worked for me. Quote
PinkCow Posted October 30, 2009 Author Report Posted October 30, 2009 Maybe, if I go to bed, it will magically dewrinkle itself. Thanks, for the advice. Quote
LDSgirl Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 That sounds like a cool Halloween costume! I hope that you can get the wrinkles out of the top. Lol, wear it damp and as you walk around the house....it should dry with fewer wrinkles. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 If it isn't flattened out by tomorrow, you can always just wrinkle up the poodle skirt to match it. Quote
LDSgirl Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 If it isn't flattened out by tomorrow, you can always just wrinkle up the poodle skirt to match it. Oh no! That's the coolest part! Lol, don't listen to him! Quote
Mahone Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 If it isn't flattened out by tomorrow, you can always just wrinkle up the poodle skirt to match it. Finally! Some male input Quote
Bini Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Just_A_Guy is a genius! And I solely agree :Þ The steamy shower thingamabob will work. But you'll need a good build up of steam for it to have any affect at all. You could dunk the whole thing into water and let it air dry on a hanger. No wrinkles that way, just maybe a wee bit stretchy depending on the fabric. Quote
Wingnut Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Like Bini said, the shower steamer method will take a long time, and a lot of heat (which may jack up your bill noticeably). I'd fork out the money for the dryer ($2??? Wow!) or take it to a friend's house with a dryer. Throw it in with a wet cloth (shirt, washcloth, dishtowel, rag...whatever) to create steam. That'll do it better than just drying it by itself. Quote
