Melissa569 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 My name is Melissa. As of August 2009, I am 28 years old. I'm married, but we don't have kids. I attended the LDS church until I was 12, and then my parents divorced. I didn't go at all, while I lived with my dad. He has lots of faith, but never was a church person. I recently decided to start attending my local LDS church again. My husband is from India, and his father was Catholic, while his mother was a Hindu. So his faith is a mix of the two. He does respect all positive religions, but he probably won't be attending church with me though. He works 12 hours a day, 6 days a week (including Sunday). But he wants me to go because he thinks its a good idea for me to have a support system, and decent, level-headed people to spend time with. Anyway, just wanted to join this forum, because I hang out online a lot and I would like to network a bit :) Quote

Maya Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Welcome. You never know ... things change.... hopefully to better so he may be with you one day. Anyway also welcome back! So officially: Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums. While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab. Quote
Melissa569 Posted January 4, 2010 Author Report Posted January 4, 2010 Thanks for the welcome everyone. I spoke with my husband today, and he said if he can manage a sunday off, he will come with me!! Yay!! :) I was surprised to hear him say that, but you know they say "the family that prays together, stays together". Quote
