Bini Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 I lied. I'm finding that I very much enjoy watching the speed-skating! I'm keeping my eye on Apollo and Shani :] Quote
pam Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Oh my gosh. What an exciting ending to Apollo's race. Quote
Maureen Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 The women's moguls were very exciting to watch. M. Quote
pam Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 I agree Maureen. I thoroughly enjoyed watching those. I always feel bad for those that fall. Quote
john doe Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 The women's moguls were very exciting to watch.M.Yeah, too bad Canada may not have a gold medal this time around. Again. But they're pretty good at the broom hockey with a rock one, aren't they? Maybe they'll win that one. Quote
Maureen Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 We have chances for gold in a few events - women's and men's hockey, curling, women's long track speed skating and probably a few more. :) M. Quote
pam Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 One of the sports commentators was talking about hockey and said he'd love to see a Canada/USA final game. Just to show that North America is not to be messed with when it comes to hockey. Quote

pam Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 hahaha Hey I'm all for the best team winning. While I love when the US wins a medal, I just love the whole feeling of the Olympics and countries coming together. Quote
pam Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 The Chinese couple in the pairs figure skating were awesome. Quote
Dravin Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Olympics? Wow, I had noticed the thread title but it didn't click they'd started. Quote
Maureen Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 GOOOOOLD for canada yay Double Yay!!!!M. Quote
Bini Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Last night I caught two Chinese couples and a German couple. I wasn't too impressed with China, despite the fact that they tend to be strong technically, they always come across to me as emotionless and with no theatrical element at all. Germany had a great performance, however. Quote
pam Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 I'm not sure you caught the first Chinese couple. The ones that skated first in the draw. They were absolutely amazing. They got the highest score in the history of the Olympics. Quote

It's always neat to see people from oppressed countries excel in the Olympics. They're free to shine and have their special moment. Quote
pam Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 They have a great story behind them too. I'm rooting for them to win. Quote
pam Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) I have to admit I am a bit worried about the judging as were the commentators. Two of the couples that finished inthe top 5 of the short program should not be there. Even the commentators such as Scott Hamilton said they should not. One couple both fell during their skate yet they ended up in one of the top spots after all was said and done. Edited February 15, 2010 by pam Quote
Bini Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Pam, I'm going to have to watch the beginning of the event. Not landing and falling are typically criticized with harsh judgment. It does make you raise an eyebrow.. Quote

pam Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 They were wonderful but I was really rooting for the couple from China that took the Gold. Quote
pam Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Im just hoping I haven't missed the guy who I want to see in the men's short program tonight. I kept trying to switch back and forth between Olympics and American Idol. But I'm a fan of Jeremy Abbott. Quote
pam Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Oh good I haven't missed him. He's coming up in the last group. Quote
