marts1 Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) It's my better half's birthday today and she has been very touchy about it in the past. I just finished making a birthday card for her which says...One of the most important events I can think of is the day you were born. It was as if the whole world became a little brighter. The moment you came into this world was the night of my favourite dream come true...Think it will work?... I wrote "I love you" a bit underneath. Edited February 26, 2010 by marts1 Quote
NeuroTypical Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 It might depend on why she's touchy about it. Quote
marts1 Posted February 26, 2010 Author Report Posted February 26, 2010 Just lack of response mostly.:) Quote
Maya Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 I think that was qute... but a womans reaction... you can never know... I am ALWAYS 21! Quote
marts1 Posted February 26, 2010 Author Report Posted February 26, 2010 After I read your response I wrote..Are you sure your 40 already. I thought more like 30...she will actually be 51 Quote
Bini Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 I don't know your wife but I'm sure she'll love whatever it is you come up with. That is, as long as it's endearing and not poking fun at her.. I know some women don't take kidding around too well. But my husband's done little writings for me on birthday cards and Valentine's, etc etc and I've never been disappointed. I love that he'll sit down and take a few moments to write something nice for me. Quote
marts1 Posted February 26, 2010 Author Report Posted February 26, 2010 I'd feel better if it was not a suggestion, but she did give me a clue. It is all sincere accept that last little part which I'm sure she won't have a problem with. If all does not go well, I'll just blame Maya.:) Quote
marts1 Posted February 27, 2010 Author Report Posted February 27, 2010 Well, she was actually not in such a good mood when presented her with the card. Her mood changed from night to day. :) Quote
pam Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 I like it when a spouse puts a little thought and work into a gift. Doesn't have to be extravagant or costly..just to show you actually thought about it and took the time. Not a last minute run to the floral area in the grocery store for a dozen roses. Quote
talisyn Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 I love the idea of a homemade card, very sweet! Remember, you can never have too much glitter Quote
Wingnut Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 Remember, you can never have too much glitter I beg to differ. Quote
marts1 Posted February 27, 2010 Author Report Posted February 27, 2010 I have given her flowers before which was good, but your right, turned out the home made things have a greater impact. Quote
pam Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 I beg to differ. Especially when it gets all over everything. What a pain to clean up. Quote
