I'm avoiding sleep because I am really overwhelmed by the idea that tomorrow is church and then homework and then a fireside and I'm not really wanting to do all that. LOL

You going to the singles fireside?

Shortbread? Tasty? Bleck! It has no flavor!

I'm finally done with my talk. Good night everyone...see you on Monday. Or late tomorrow night. Maybe.

Well made shortbread has plenty of flavor. If your talking something by Keebler I'll agree with your assessment. The homemade is good as simple, but it is easy to spruce them up, a layer of marmalade on top with some orange zest in the dough. Tasty stuff. Or dark chocolate on top with the orange zest in the dough.

I love shortbread cookies with a dab of raspberry jam in the center. Yum yum yum.

That is tasty as well. They were actually the inspiration for my marmalade ones but they didn't turn out orangy enough, thus the determination to use some orange zest next time.

Neither can I, and it seems I need a refresher course. :)

I am sitting at home, taking a break from homework, and feeling utterly despondent over events that took place on Friday, as they have caused a major change of course for my plans for the future.

I'm sorry, I don't know what happened but I hope you feel better soon.

And sometimes...change is a good thing. It just doesn't feel like it right now. :grouphug:

Girl Scout Trefoil cookies are the only shortbread I've ever been able to almost enjoy, but they're definitely my least favorite.

I'm trying not to think of food.

Me too. Right now I'm sknarfing honey toasted cheerios in a vain attempt to not throw up. So far my little raspberry only wants steak and zingers.

Sknarfing is similar to snarfing but with less enthusiasm and more neediness.

Personne, I'm hoping that is just a language translation thing as we are not a cult.

Ever looked that up in a dictionary? It's better not to use the word cult as many people make the mistake and assume it means a devil worship type thing.
