justaname Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 My wife is dying for a pair of these things. Anybody have a pair that would like to give a review? Quote
Dravin Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 It isn't a review really, but my Sister has some (she wears them at her retail job) and she likes them. Quote

Does that mean you can go ahead and buy them and see a benefit? Quote

confuzzled Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 I forked out the cash for a pair and in MHO they have truly been worth the money. I didn't get them to help me get in shape...I go to the gym for that. I did spend the money on them because they were supposed to help your lower back. I am on my feet a good portion of the day and I don't feel the back fatigue like I used to. I love them and I plain on buying another pair because my feet and back are worth the extra $$$. Quote
SMG Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 I have shoes similar to the Shape-ups. They have been VERY great about ending my knee and hip pain! I have -zero- knee and hip pain after working a shift wearing them. Quote
Bini Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Seen them but never tried them. Sounds like they work and it isn't all hype. How much do these shoes cost? I should get myself a pair and see how I like them.. Quote
lizzy12 Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 MY YW leader bought some for her and her husband and they love them ! They help excerize your muscles....but it makes u sore... Quote

talisyn Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 I haven't tried those shoes, but they look interesting. These are what I'm wearing right now Womens - Champion - Stride Fitness Athletic - Payless Shoes They are oddly shaped, like a long balloon down the middle of the sole. This adds just enough perceived instability that your leg muscles work a bit harder. I have high hopes for my claves Quote
Gwen Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 i know this thread is kinda old but i saw this and thought about it. lol WD Reviews: Tone-as-You-Walk Shoes on Yahoo! Health Quote
prospectmom Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 I love mine. I also wear zero - balance shoes who do the same thing. Quote
justaname Posted April 22, 2010 Author Report Posted April 22, 2010 I did end up getting her a pair about a month ago. She isnt the type to forget the gym and depend on these shoes, but she does love them. She wears them when she walks on the treadmill and all around the house. Sounds like she feels better walking in them than with other shoes. I dont think they are going shred weight and tone up muscles, but if she likes them, then more power to her. Quote
Bini Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 OK $100 isn't bad for a pair of shoes. Especially a pair that supposedly melts away excess weight. Until I saw this thread bumped up, I had totally forgotten about this. I'm thinking I'll definitely have to invest in a pair and try them out. I won't wear them in my house because I don't allow shoes inside.. But I could probably wear them at work etc etc. I've noticed that Reebok has come out with a pair of "shape-up" shoes but I think theirs are called "ree-shape". Lol. Quote
declanr Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 I'm a guy, and I love them. They improve my posture, and although like one poster said its like not drinking soda for a day, but those are the extra calories I wouldn't have walked on a daily basis anyway...they also helped my back, but I think partly due to fixing my posture. They do make me taller FWIW, I'm already 6 ft so I don't exactly need the boost. Quote
