Let's face it things are going to get alot rougher in the world. Every nation is spending more money that they don't have. People are spending way beyond their means. Children our being raised without bother their mother and their father at an alarming rate.

What do we do to prepare for what's coming? We know their will be societal conflict and struggle. But we need to be in a position where we can lift up and bless others while not falling for it ourselves.

I have a few suggestions, but Id like to get more ideas.

1. Commit ourselves to Jesus Christ and use the Atonement to become virtue. That would involve developing virtues such as honesty, charity, faith, integrity, a strong work ethic, and other things. I don't mean just casually but actively doing it.

2. Pay off your debts. Sacrifice if you have to just get out of debt if you can.

3. Prepare food storage and have a garden if possible.

I don't at all mean for these to be all inclusive. I want to see some other ideas.

4. Get politically involved to elect leaders that support your values.

5. Help build the community so that it can survive a time of crises.

other than that I think your list covers it.

Not just people, but governments are exceeding their own GNP. That is a dangerous game to be playing. USA has become one of them [including in this assessment is the upcoming unfunded healthcare, SS, and other such social programs].

The highest priority for any person is learning how to listen to the church brethren and the Spirit by applying action and not sentiments.

all of these posts seem to imply that somehow mankind (WOMANKIND) can avert what is to come.

for pete's sake......it has been fortold that the world will be tossed like a salad, and yet some people seem to be surprised by it.

i don't get that.

yes, let's elect leaders that will stop it from happening......

has anyone actually STUDIED revelation?

i believe that those who have already been exposed to war might comprehend the severity of how drastic things will become, because they have witnessed first hand the insanity mankind can inflict upon itself.

lol, i have written and edited and erased.

fact is, i'm just another jerk with another stupid opinion, presuming to know what's good for everyone else.

and THERE is the fault.

What would be the need for any season on a glorified world? I know this name is used quite frequently by the Saints, but there are eleven other glorified worlds or stars that gravitate to GOD’s own world.

Remember, Kolob, is an Egyptian term and not a true Adamic language spelling. As the following names are listed in the same language;

1. Kolob,

2. Limdi,

3. Zip,

4. Vusel,

5. Venisti,

6. Waine,

7. Wayoh=ox=oan,

8. Oansli,

9. Shible,

10. Shineflis,

11. Flis,

12. Os.

I am wondering if government has also over stepped its boundaries in how we can be self sufficient. Take for example the Canadian government. A person who owns land I think in the interior set up a simple micro hydro dam just to supply electricity to his cabin. Government agent said it needs to be taken down "cannot recall the reason" and he would need to bring in a generator. He protested big time because that's money out of his pocket.

I do not think ordinary Americans or Canadians should need to pay more out of there pockets just so the government can pay for wasteful projects "think 2010 Olympics"

BC liberals are trying to place a new tax burden on us and we are fed up with it.

Living to be self sustaining means to litterly depend on your self without outside help.

This means a source of food such as a farm, source of fuel "bio generation plant" from pig and cow waste or veggies.

Often, these cannot be done in the big city. I see condos here that are so tiny, that you cannot store anything in them. this is not self sufficiency! This is short term survival!

There was a article in our newspaper that showed people would would be willing to loan there land, if some one grew veggies on it and take there share. Good cooperative method of having a garden without owning the land!
