I LOVE ice in my drinks. And I'm doubly weird because I have to have my drinks cold before putting them on ice. If they are room temperature, then the ice melts faster and the fizz leaves the drink faster.

We always make sure we have a big bag of ice in the freezer at all times. Once a bag of ice is opened, we make sure to buy another bag at the next grocery shop.

I'm a really big fan of ice water. But I have this weird thing where I drink my sodas at room temperature, when I drink them, which is rare.

You are just going to have to face facts anne... you are a little different than everyone else. this is just proof positive.

;) Just kiddin girl, I love ya.

Heck, I don't think I have ROOM in my freezer for ice!

how can you live without ice? We visited one of my daughters in texas last summer. they had a new house and a wonderful fridge. sighs. I just loved the ice and water dispenser. It had so many choices! I am thinking we need to go back and visit them again for a summer!

I actually like the ice to dilute the drinks. Most are too strong. Probably comes from my poor childhood. We had cows so milk was free. Sometimes they got into the wild onions so the milk was pretty strong lol. My mom bought chocolate powder and used a teaspoon in each large glass of milk. It was just enough to cut the onion flavor. Since then drinks just taste better with just a bit of flavoring.

How's your iron? Do you like to chew the ice? That craving can be a sign of anemia.v Of course, Sonic ice is practically a food group to me, and me iron is fine as far as I know.

I dont like to chew on ice. If its really hot I dont mind holding a piece of ice on my tongue for a minute but more likely to sit on my palm to cool the blood down. :D

Can my body think I am anemic without being? Like starving when full because of losing weight? Am I explaining this in an understandable way? I wonder only because I nearly died of anemia a few years ago from chronic bleeding. Cause was fixed and dont have that problem now.

Oh that's a good question! I wish I knew. I just know I come from a long line of ice chewers (we know where all the places in town with good ice are) and people always accuse us of having anemia!

you may want to check out your iron level. Many women and vegetarians have a hunger for ice when they are iron deficient.

I will ask my dr next time I see him. So why do you think that particular pica is to ice? Not thinking ice has much iron in it.

Some that are anemic have tongue pain and the ice helps relieve it.

I had this when I was pregnant yet my iron levels were normal. Not sure why I wanted ice so much during my pregnancy.

Ahhhh in a sideways way that might explain it. I have a geographic tongue from birth. There are no coverings over most of the taste buds. While my tongue does not hurt it is very sensitive.

I have that, too! I wonder if there's something to it. I should see if my parents or siblings do. We all love our ice. A lot.

I don't usually have ice in my drinks. But then, it's not often hot enough here to merit it.

My fiancee on the other hand... I don't think she'll have soda without it :P

There is a certain perspective gap here, iced drinks aren't only to cool down. I'll enjoy a nice cold (iced) drink in them middle of December. I simply enjoy my water (and other non-hot drinks) ice cold, if come in from shoveling the snow and I'm thirsty I have a nice cold water (either out of the fridge, I have a pitcher, or with ice, sometimes both).

Water, Soda, Milk, they need to be frigid for maximum enjoyment, and the first two preferably with ice, even if I don't need to cool down, and honestly even if I'm on the cold side. Yes, I have sat there bundled up in a sweater, sweats, and blanket watching TV and drinking an iced beverage.

On a very hot day Iced Milk can not be beat. Oh man and if it has slush in it then its heavenly!
