pam Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 For anyone that has absolutely loved his paintings, this is so sad. What a wonderful talent he had.Popular painter Thomas Kinkade dies in Calif. | ksl.comThis was one of my favorites. I could just imagine myself living in a place like this surrounded by such beauty. skippy740 Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 Yes, he was extremely talented. But I have to admit that since my mother-in-law had a few of them... I'm kinda jaded about them now. Of course, now that he's died... maybe they'll go up in value? I know... I'm cold. :) Quote
bluedreams Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 May he rest in peace. As for his art....no comment. I am not a fan to say the least. Quote

prisonchaplain Posted April 8, 2012 Report Posted April 8, 2012 He helped many to look up. Perhaps some of us will seem him waving back when we do. Quote
bluedreams Posted April 8, 2012 Report Posted April 8, 2012 Seems to me you did comment. Art's one of my passion in lives....sometimes it spills out when I don't mean it to . But trust me....that's the least of my commentary for the man's work. With luv,BD Quote
RescueMom Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 I sort of liked his stuff, it wasn't the end all of art for me, but it wasn't hard to look at. Sadly his death was self induced from alcoholism. People tend to forget that part of his life...he seemed like a very tortured soul to me that tried to paint a better world. May he find peace and the world he wanted to express in his art now. Quote
Dove Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 Ouch, this one hurts.... I really like his paintings/style of art, even if it wasn't considered the best by the art world. So sad to find out about his alcoholism....but; thanks for the information~ Dove Quote
HEthePrimate Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 His paintings were like cotton candy for the eyes. But I have nothing against the man himself, and wish him a joyous and restful, well, eternity. Quote
mhsmd Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 I have many a negative comment on his art, but it is sad that a man died. I just wish he could have stepped aside to let more creative and talented artists flourish, or at least stopped painting the same things over and over. Quote
pam Posted April 28, 2012 Author Report Posted April 28, 2012 Why would he need to step aside? It's not like he had the monopoly on art. Quote
Vort Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 Just think of how wonderful the creative world would be if we only allowed expression to those artists whose work met our personal approval! Quote
HEthePrimate Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Just think of how wonderful the creative world would be if we only allowed expression to those artists whose work met our personal approval! For the record, let it be known that on this I AGREE WITH VORT! What (I believe) he meant, that is, not actually, literally said. The world would indeed be a boring place if only one brand of art were allowed. Quote
