Traveler Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I can see the humor but at the same time I think each one missed the mark in informing what is expected of the Saints to validate the covenant. The Traveler Quote
Traveler Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 First commandment: It is not a question of how many G-ds there are or that exist – it is a matter of worship and service to that G-d that offers salvation. Second Commandment: It is not just remembering and being nice to your specific parents – it is also a matter of respecting how children are born and not destroying the institution of marriage. Third Commandment: It is not so much what you say about G-d as it is to claim to worship him and then behave as a bad example. Forth Commandment: More than going to church it is an understanding of the Sabbath as an entire day to practice living in heaven. That is, if you want to live in heaven, which I often wonder when I observe what most do with their free time on the Sabbath. Fifth Commandment: More than your priorities concerning G-d it also means not to bring anything unclean with you to worship him. Sixth Commandment: It is not just about fooling with someone else’s wife. It is also about fooling around with ideas (orientations, pornography and even yourself) that are contrary to virtue. Seventh Commandment: We kill things to eat – this is about murder and violence and enjoying it for entertainment – even just by proxy in the movies. Eight Commandment: It is not just avoiding telling lies it is living without deceptions. Ninth Commandment: It is not just calling something yours that does not belong to you it is also the unauthorized use of things that belong to someone else even if it was lost and you do not know who it really belongs to. Tenth Commandment: It is not just what belongs to others it also includes being selfish with what you have. BTW if you check the commandments in the scripture (Exodus chapter 20) you will see that there are some things out of order and backwards. The Traveler Quote
Maureen Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 It's probably written between the lines in the OT but there should have been an eleventh commandment:Thou shalt have a sense of humour!M. :) Quote
