Vort Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Seattle is holding a big rally and parade for the Seahawks. As a result, traffic is beyond nightmarish, and is approaching Los Angeles levels. My normally 45-minute commute would probably have been over three hours, so I'm working from home. And how are you doing? Quote
Wingnut Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 And here I thought you were talking about our highly civil and intellectual conversation on a certain other thread today that's already been deleted. I'm snowed in. Quote
beefche Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 My morning commute included digging out my car at the end of the driveway in order to get to work. Quote

Guest Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I'm enjoying the snow outside. It makes it look like I don't have as much yard work as I have. Quote
Maureen Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 It is a cold day here. When it's this cold I'll walk underground even though it's a longer walk. :)M. Quote

Dravin Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) So she dug her car out by proxy? If I recall correctly she helped with shoveling. My memory is hazy because my first memory of the day was being woken up and told, "The car is stuck at the bottom of the driveway." In other words I was a little bleary eyed at the time. In the end it wasn't the shoveling so much as using salt for traction (I would have used sand but what I had at hand was a bag of salt) that freed the car. Edited February 5, 2014 by Dravin Quote

Your driveway really isn't very long. :) Quote

beefche Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 The snow was piled at the bottom of the drive. I tried to gun it from the garage thinking I'll just coast over it--my plan failed. The tires were stuck, then we discovered that the snow was piled under the car keeping it high mounted, then the tires were on ice. Fun, exciting morning. Quote
prisonchaplain Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 FYI SeaTac may be close to Seattle...even closer to the airport...but the traffic is fine on this end of the county. :-) Quote

The snow plows probably dumped a ton on your apron. That's never fun to try to get over. Quote
