Hi all,

My name is Ashley and I am new here. Well, duh! I guess. I am currently investigating the LDS faith. I was wondering. What is a good part of the Book of Mormon to start?

Welcome!!

I'd start in 3rd Nephi chapter 11, when Christ makes His appearance.

I'd also start in the 3rd Nephi, because it's the most special part of the Book of Mormon (it's often called the book within the Book of Mormon). Alma would also be recommendable from my view.

2 Nephi 2 is my favorite.

But yeah, start from the beginning.  It makes better sense, I think.

Welcome in Ashley! I just joined the forum here, but a member since age 8, raised in the LDS church.

As for your question, I enjoyed all of the Book of Mormon, except for the parts quoted of Isaiah, which are admittedly underappreciated by people as a whole. Also, when reading it, I would recommend you to read the Title Page and all of the pages before 1 Nephi begins. A nice task is to link the pages you are reading with the Brief Explanation about the Book of Mormon as well, which may be perhaps better for the second time through due to familiarization. If understood with the reading of the book, it can actually open up a deeper understanding of the timeline of the book, since it is not entirely chronological.

Cheers!
