I will admit that I only skimmed over the link, but it appears to give only "one" example of a renovation by the Gaines. "Hooper’s family bought the house from the city for $24,008, slightly more than the tax appraisal value of $20,991. A fan of HGTV renovation programs, she heard about the Magnolia Homes series and wrote to owners Chip and Joanna Gaines, who agreed to take it on. The renovation brought the total cost to about $180,000, Hooper said." The family referenced in the Waco News article, Charmaine Hooper and Chuck Codd are listed on HGTV magazine, thus not making it "private" pricing. http://www.hgtv.com/design/outdoor-design/landscaping-and-hardscaping/back-from-the-brink-a-fixer-upper-story-pictures This is exhausting and I don't care much about it to go find everything I've read about Magnolia over a period of 2 years to show you. That link shows the Magnolia process from the city's standpoint showcasing 2 examples from the show, both stating that the renovations were so expensive that they weren't sure if they can recoup their money on a resell. All I'm going to say is it is unethical to put prices on a TV show that has no bearing to the realities of a fixer upper project and one thing I know about the Gaines, they're not unethical people. Therefore, I find NO REASON for them to finnagle the prices on the TV show different from any other of their projects when there's a whole long line of people willing to pay the real $ and even more to have their project be chosen for TV. But yeah, it doesn't matter much what you believe because it is a silly argument to have. Quote

The beautiful LadyGator watches a lot of true crime (ID Discovery, Snapped). Aside from X-Files and Jeopardy I like Seinfeld, Frasier and anything on CNBC or Foxnews . Seinfeld seems to me to be a bit dated (maybe just me maturing beyond caring). I have then entire Frasier series on DVD, and I love it. I will pull out certain episodes over and over again. I tried watching Cheers on Netflix, but only got to about episode 4. I like some detective shows. Loved Monk. Never got into true crime or ghost hunting stories (which are popular at my house). Quote

Guest Godless Posted June 14, 2016 Report Posted June 14, 2016 (edited) The most recent season of The League just got added to Netflix, so that's going to take up most of my free time for the next couple of days while my wife is out of town (she hates that show). After that we'll be looking for a way to stream season 5 of Game of Thrones. My wife's co-workers helped us out with 1-4. Unfortunately, we're both clueless when it comes to online streaming and downloading. Edited June 14, 2016 by Godless Quote

TV is getting worse all the time. Brit TV shows too seem to have gotten quite bawdy. I'm assuming there will come a time when LDS folks won't be able to watch much TV at all, except maybe through something like Vidangel (who just got sued by Hollywood, of course). But those are the only two Star Trek shows I like. I love Once Upon a Time. It does get a little cheesy at times, but I still love it. So it's just the very beginning of the process. They apparently have a great lawyer. ST: Enterprise I enjoyed, although it appeared to mark a turning point in focusing more on sexual aspects. New Generation and Voyager weren't like that, as I recall. I also really disliked the Vulcan woman character, whatever her name was (no one remind me, please). TURN: violence and sex both. The violence is pretty regular in the show - it is technically a war movie, after all - but no I don't enjoy that either. The sex is not every episode, but is usually PG13 or worse. We're in the habit of skipping past that stuff. Sad. Quote
