Do you know?
Guest Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 This is a quote and may be why I haven't been getting a definite answer to my prayers on the subject and confusion: "Because He is our Heavenly Father and because He loves us, there are times when He may answer those urgent pleas for help, even though we have not kept ourselves as ready or as worthy as we should have done. However, we are here to learn to walk by faith, and sometimes the only way we learn faith is to have a blessing withheld. Though we may be tempted to view this as a punishment or decide that God doesn't care, it is simply another manifestation of the principle that God, in all His wisdom and knowledge, decides when a revelation or answer to prayers should be given."

And it will be only one wife until/unless the Lord tells his prophet otherwise.. 9 minutes ago, Zarahemla said: Well I'm not sure if the Manifesto is the forever end of the practice altogether, or if it was just a temporary suspension of the practice so the church could keep it's temples. Do you know? It does not matter in the slightest... We are here to do all that God commands. Of all the commandments we are currently under I am sure there are some that need your attention and thoughts and concern, and focus... Which you are currently wasting on a "what if" that God has clearly stated is a "NO." If it changes then yes it becomes something you need to figure out but until then you need to accept what he has told you instead of trying to second guess what the future might hold. zil 1

Shoot_The_Moon Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 (edited) I think polygamy and the law of consecration/"United Order" go hand-in-hand. We won't be able to live either until we can fully live both, (which probably won't happen until Christ's encore...) Edited August 2, 2016 by Shoot_The_Moon

We all have vague notions (scripture, our Patriarchal Blessings, etc.) but none* of us knows for sure that we'll receive celestial glory, nor what our life there will look like. This is in part why we have faith - because we don't know. *OK, there could be some mortals around who have had their calling and election made sure, but does that always include knowing what their celestial existence will look like? And if it does, are they here reading this post right now? (I suspect not, so this particular "us" doesn't include them.)

I'm night and day different on the subject.

If it makes you feel any better, while I wouldn't say it's a night / day thing, I know there are many members who sometimes feel OK with difficult issues, and other times are sure they're not OK with said issues. The strong ones recognize that the "not OK with it" side is a temptation and put it back on the shelf and get on with what they know is OK, pending receipt of further revelation. In other words, you're not alone. Learn to tell Satan to leave you alone, and put it back on the shelf until the Lord tells you to take it down off the shelf and look at it.

Every single night around 10PM I get anxiety about everything and my whole brain and mind changes until I take my anti psychotic meds and anxiety meds which take 2 hours to kick in so I can sleep. It's so weird how my mind on topics is so different during the day like right now compared to how I'll feel in 8 hours. Like during the day I could watch a horror movie and wouldn't flinch, but at night I can only observe family friendly entertainment and only listen to peaceful, relaxing music or read the scriptures, but all the wars and slaughters in the Book of Mormon bother me. It's so weird.

Well we are in the last days, but have been for a while..... The answer is neither I nor my kids will live to see the second coming, or the institution of polygamy. I've been wrong before and I maybe on this one... pam 1
