Snow Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 So this weekend I decided to grow a beard. Then today I noticed that there was some grey in it. I thought a little of that beard/mustache dye thingy would do the trick, so I got some and put it on tonight. However, the beard was so short, most of the coloring just went on my skin. After waiting the requisite minutes I rinsed it all off to find that my face looked like some one had painted on a charcol goatee and mustache. Water wouldn't rinse it off. Soap wouldn't take it off, nor would baby oil for facial scrub.... and I gotta go to work tomorrow. Twenty minutes scrubing in the shower and about 5 layers less of skin and I think I'm presentable for the morrow - barely. Quote

sixpacktr Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 We had a guy at work that did the same, but with his hair. He was more bald than not, and it did the same thing. It looked horrid. And to make it worse, when he sweat some of it ran, kind of like mascara... I felt bad for him, but at the same time couldn't help but laugh. Glad you got most of it off... Quote

The image of "mascara" running down his chin would be priceless. Quote

Canuck Mormon Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Thanks for the info. I was going to try that as my goatee is turning white, not grey. I'm too young for white hair. Quote

checkerboy Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Man I am at that stage too where the greys are showing up in my goatee. I am afraid if I dye it it will be too dark and people will just laugh and think I look stupid. Maybe I should shave it off and let it grow back in while dying it. Oh wait that is what you did snow and I don't want a black chin, hmmmm. Quote
Laureltree Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Snow, I'm so so sry... When ever dying hair, use a thin comb or fine eyebrow brush ( only brush gel on hair, not skin ). before applying color add vasoline around area to seal it. Then wash when done.....HUGS SNOW ! Quote
sixpacktr Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 So Snow, you never did let us know. Did anyone say anything? Did you have a disaster? Just being nosy... Quote

Jason Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Got some grey in my chin, but I'm not sporting facial hair anymore. My wife likes me with the goat, but I'm tired of it. Quote
orrinjelo Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 Honestly, I'd rather have hair that's turning gray or white rather than balding. Unfortunately, the latter runs in my family. Quote
