Relief supplies already on their way to Texas

SALT LAKE CITY — Three trucks full of water and relief kits from the LDS Church rolled away from the Bishops' Central Storehouse in Salt Lake City on Friday and headed toward Houston as Hurricane Harvey swept toward Texas.

The trucks will resupply the local Bishops' Storehouse in Houston operated by the Welfare Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Houston storehouse is fully stocked and prepared for the storm, LDS Church spokesman Doug Andersen said.

Once again the Church is prepared and already sending aid.  Contrary to what our critics say about how we should be spending tithing money to assist more people,  the Church is always one of the first responders.

I am happy to see the Church doing charity work with the LORD's resources.  I only wish we could do more.  The resources of the church are so limited compared to the needs of 7 billion people on this planet.  But we do our best I believe.
