That Rock Won't Roll!

Here is a thread about Kidney Stones.

Does anyone have a secret recipe that helps to move these things along and aviod surgery?

Here is what I have found so far.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...19202928AAZX8rO

I read the site you linked, and after looking at the different suggestions, here is what I came up with:

1. Have a famly member move a couch near the bathroom.

2. Combine the following ingredients and warm them over low heat until the liquid is warm to the touch, but not hot:

2 oz Extra Virgin Olive Oil (This breaks down into a good fat for your body, too!)

2 oz Freshly squeezed Lemon Juice

2 Tablespoons Honey (optional)

Guzzle down the mixture as fast as possible, and I suggest plugging your nose. Wait a second or two to make sure that noxious concoction is going to stay down.

3. Go sit on the couch and start guzzling a six-pack of beer down as fast as you can. Remember, this is medicinal, so you should be good. Have someone with you to hold you up, because after the third beer your probably going to be falling over, even if you‘re sitting down. Also, make sure they have a good sense of humor, because you’re going to be drunk, and they’re not.

4. I would tell you to drink the barley water, but if you drink one more thing you're gonna hurl. Plus, after all that beer you're going to be passed out cold, so don't bother with the barley water.

5. Wake up and run into the bathroom, sit, sigh, and suddenly notice something kind of funny looking come out. But don’t look too close, because you’ll still be a little drunk, and if you lean over too far you will fall over head first and roll right out of the bathroom.

If that doesn’t work, drink more beer. Let me know if you need me to help.

Elphaba, I am ROLLING on the Floor! You are a stitch! :P

Berry, I have always heard Cranberry Juice; that recipe is a new one to me! But shoot, I'd certainly give it a try. I would also request a blessing -- but do that BEFORE you drink the 6 pack.

I had a stone once. I was driving home and the pain hit me so hard I lost the feeling in my arms for a while. I called my wife and she came home to find me curled up in a ball in front of the toilet. I never did see the stone come out, though. I thought I was going to die from the pain. Maybe it stayed in there waiting for an encore presentation. :dontknow::dontknow:

SF as we discussed on messenger...get the lite beer. Will still let you keep that girlish figure. haha

I hope people know I'm kidding...though with kidney stones I'd be willing to try almost anything to get rid of them.

Have you tried combining milk and Pepsi? :)

That sounds like it would make me puke again... Does it work or do you want me to puke? :ahhh::lol:

Thanks everyone so much!

The other night when I ended up in the ER there was a knock on the door It was Eldon the sweet older man who was the volunteer. He asked if I was LDS and I said yes. He then asked if these men from the church could come in and see me. The nurse taking the case history said if she says yes I will have to tell you to tell them that I get her first. Eldon left to go tell them. I looked at hubby and said that was strange, we have been in ER's before and never been approached like that. Not long after the nurse left there was a knock on the door and two men with hospital badges entered the small ER room we were in. They asked how I was. I smiled through gritted teeth and said fine. They asked if there was something they could do and I looked at hubby again and said I think we are fine. I asked how they happened to be there at that time and they explained it was their calling, they visit the ER and then on Sunday deliver the sacrament. I smiled as I remembered taking the sacrament with my FIL a few months back when we stayed with him in rehab. They wished us well and left. Hindsight I wished that I would have allowed them to give me a blessing. It has been a very long time since someone I don't know well has given me a blessing.

Tonight I asked my oldest son to assist my hubby in giving me a blessing. I loved hearing him call me by my full name. I loved being blessed by the Priesthood through him and my husband.

I go back to the urologist on Thursday if these stones have not passed I am headed for a two-part surgery. One stone is quite large and sometimes they need help to pass. I believe help comes in many forms.

Thanks again, SF

Puking would nullify its effects. However, it worked for Lavern - never once did you see her passing a stone separately or with Shirley.

My mother has had many stones over the years. At her last visit they found six. Passing them? She gave up on that. She goes in for the sonic blast.

Why does she have so many? First of all, she won't drink water to save her life, literally. She drinks Dr. Peppers all day and will sometimes go days without any pure water. She is also big on chocolate. Caffiene is a big part of her diet. She has struggled with headaches for years and I just keep screaming 'Caffeine! Caffeine! Caffeine!' The diuretic effect of that and alcohol combined with the low water intake keep her dehydrated and strippted of calcium. A low on calcium, dehydrated, body is prone to these stones. A Crown and Coke is a kidney stone cocktail.

It all scares me to death, I fear for her kidneys. I have gone through some phases where I'll drink soda, but I am currently on a water only drinking program.

Strawberry Fields - how did your dr visit go? Haven't seen you on for a few days, and I'm worrying . . . .

Know I'm thinking of you and hope you are doing very well! :bighug:

I'm wondering the same thing. I haven't seen her in awhile. I'm hoping it didn't go to surgery.

Here is a really good way to get rid of kidney stones. my mom did it numerous times and it completely dissolved her kidney stones.

1 12oz can of Asparagus, blended.

6 pack of coca-cola (real stuff not imitation, and not caffine free either)

the asparagus is basically 100% fiber. this will be your scrubber for your system (figuratively). it will smooth out the stone and allow it to pass easier.

the coke is acidic, and dissolves kidney stones like crazy. working in combination with the asparagus it acts like a roto-rooter for your urinary tract.

drink the asparagus all at once, (i know some of you may not like it but do it anyways)

then drink as much of the coke as you can handle in 1 hour. the caffine in the coke will open your blood vessels and allow better blood flow through your body allowing for the fiber to pass through easier and clean out the grit.

then after the hour drink nothing but water.

Hello my friends. :)

Surgery was Friday and the second part of it will be this week.

I have also been given some very bad news about my dad so I have not been my joyful self. Please be patient as I manage my way through this new territory.
