Stampede
Okay, so Saturday was a big day, very long but well worth it. The ward members put together a wonderful program for my wife. She enjoyed it alot. She came into the waters of baptism, stunningly beautiful in her white jumpsuit. i couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. She stood in front of me in the traditional way. I raised my hand, said the words required, and then placed her into te water. I wish i could have opened my eyes more but my eyes were swollen with tears and i think the spirit guided my movements to bring her back up out of the water. I kissed her on the forehead and looked up to the elders to make sure everything went okay. they said "good" and so i turned to escort anna to the side of the font, and when they closed the curtains. my wife turned to me about half way up the steps and said "Thank you" with a smile. Then we had refreshments thanks to a few of the members, and another member who sang for her during the program took us and the missionaries out for taryaki. then we came back for the trainign meeting. The following morning i got a call saying we had new home teachers and that to start things off right, they should participate in her confirmation, So my EQ president (the one who gave me the Priesthood), bishop, the elders, our home teachers, and the ward mission leader all circled her while i gave her the blessing. It was beautiful. Earlier int he week I had thought about giving her the blessing and things came to mind that i wanted to say, but i didn't want to do it that way, i would pull my mind away from thinking about what to say to other things. I wanted to not know at all what to say and let the sprit guide me in my words when it happened. one of the sisters wrote everything down as fast as she could so that i could type it all up later. (i'm so thankful for her) and upon reading it after the fact, i thought "I said that?" there were a few things she wrote down that i didn't know i had said..... then i realized I could only remmeber bits and pieces of what i said. and it was beautiful. The baptismw as short, and special, but not as special as the confrimation the following morning. She is a wonderful woman, she is extremely special to her father in heaven, she is stronger than i am in many ways. and puts me to shame when it coems to scripture study.
