The primary prohibitions: tobacco, alcohol, caffeine, and other harmful drugs are the most damaging things that humans consume on a regular basis based on epigenetic changes.  While many are worried about cancer, other issues include longevity (in general) and intelligence.

We already know that we live longer than most people (which is often attributed to the WoW).  But a lesser known (and less conclusive) statistic is that LDS are more intelligent than their counterparts.  Could it be due to WoW?

Adherents [dot] com once referenced a third-party paper noting that we were one of the few faiths where there was a *positive* correlation between level of education and level of activity, but they never did provide any sort of direct link to the paper or anything else that could be studied.

I see what drinking alcohol does to people.  Someone said paraphrased:  It has everything against it and nothing for it.

We do not know why do not drink coffee, but I believe the Word of Wisdom revelation.  I believe I will be blessed for following these commandments.

Millions who followed the Word of Wisdom have also been saved from the plague of Fentanyl, that has killed over 150,000 people in America in recent years from what I read.  Fentanyl has been laced into many recreational drugs and it kills people.

It's been laced into more innocent things as well.  A school bus driver was taken in because of DUI.  He swore up and down he had no idea how he got anything into his system.  It turned out that some candy he bought from a street vendor was full of drugs.  This same vendor was selling candy to kids.  None of them even knew it was laced.
