Fiannan Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Just wanted to say hi. I am currently sitting in an internet cafe in Lhasa and aside from it being a bit more difficult to go running at this altitude it is a really interesting place to be in. Quote

I would think this would give your posts a bit more perspective. I am kidding! Really, I am! Fiannan Posted March 12, 2008 Author Report Posted March 12, 2008 Just don't go on about the evils of communism over there! True. Not sure about monitoring of communications. Guess I have to wait until I am back home to tell a few things. Quote
WillowTheWhisp Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 Do tell us more about Tibet. It seems such a fascinating place to me. Quote

Still_Small_Voice Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 If you get a chance, take some pictures of Mount Everest for us. It would be interesting to see some photos of the 29,028 foot mountain. Quote
Fiannan Posted March 15, 2008 Author Report Posted March 15, 2008 did you join in with the protest;)?-Charley Was there the first day but the second day, when I left Lhasa, was when everyting got really violent. The Chinese papers are saying the Dhali Lama started it all and that all Tibetans are angry over his interference. I'll elaborate more when I leave China. Quote

Moksha Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Need to look out for those Llasha cab drivers who ask if you are looking for a good Yak. They are not talking about taking you to a comedy club. Quote

Yes, the initial protests on day one were peaceful and ... well, better wait a few days before going into any other detailss.Interesting, I can use LDS Talk e-mail to send and receive messages in China but Hotmail is blocked. Also, isn't it ironic that using this computer here in Beijing I cannot click on links dealing with the Lhasa riots and get them to load? Quote

bcguy Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 If your in Tibet china that is great. I have always thought of monks as great peaple who seek peace and love people. Unfortunately now Chinese government have killed scores of Monks as they protest what the government is doing to them. Sad to hear this. Again thay are a great people and would love them to be my Neighbors :) Quote
