Ferris Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Hey, I was a member for nine years, but went agnostic when I turned 18. I still try to defend the church from ignorant comments though, surprisingly often, so hopefully I can turn to these boards whenever my knowledge is lacking (such as it was in my first thread, regarding archeology).I own a few websites (one just hit #1 on Google for the relevant search term, and has a large Religion subforum in the BBs), so I can at least keep my little corner of the internet clean from the misinformation that is so prevalent.Anyways, we should get along, I just wanted to introduce myself since I broke my leg in a crash and might be spending a lot of time online for a bit. crytsprospect Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Welcome and I so hope your leg heals. Lots of interesting dialog here. I learn alot not always participating but reading posts. I've so enjoyed my time here. I'm sure you will too Quote
Optimistic_Trish Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Welcome to the site, I look forward to your contributions and good luck with the healing of the leg :) Quote
skalenfehl Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Welcome, sorry to hear about your leg. It might turn out to be a blessing in disguise. I was in a head on collision about seventeen years ago and miraculously survived (my poor '66 Mustang was scrap), but the ordeal was a good experience for me. Best wishes and I look forward to seeing a lot more of you. Quote
Guest tomk Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Here's hoping your leg mends well. :) Welcome! Tom Quote
NeuroTypical Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Welcome Ferris! I basically went agnostic at 19 myself - then came back 6-ish years later. In my opinion, the only relevant reason to be LDS is you figure God wants you to be. See ya around LM Quote
MaidservantX Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Welcome, Ferris. If your first thread is going to be typical of what you have to offer the board, then I look forward to your contributions! See you around. :) Quote
Dr T Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Good to see they freed you Ferris :) Can you pm me your site address? Thank you sir. Quote
Canuck Mormon Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 Welcome Ferris. Whenever I read that name I hear "Bueller, Bueller, Bueller,..." I'm not sure if I spelled it correctly or not, but who cares. Quote
Ferris Posted May 10, 2008 Author Report Posted May 10, 2008 How'd you hurt your leg?I took a hairpin turn going WAY too fast, lost traction, and hit a curb. I had my left leg straight and pressing on the underwell, and the impact did some really bad things to my knee (so no actual break). The car looks perfectly fine on the outside, but there's several thousand dollars worth of damage to the suspension Quote
skalenfehl Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 Welcome Ferris. Whenever I read that name I hear "Bueller, Bueller, Bueller,..."Ha! I also think of Ferris Bueller! That was a funny movie. Back then it was, anyway. Quote
