  1. After countless interviews with our youth (young adults), mastabation is linked to internet porn. Sad to say, I believe it is still the number one problem in the church right now.
  2. You mean they (evil spirits) abide by the eternal laws, which even they cannot cross the line...but, even GOD abide by (celestial) eternal laws. Would I call it honor HIM? No! Honor HIM is the action of one’s agency. We CHOOSE to honor our FATHER and not by compelling the spirit. In John 5:22-24, the Savior taught a simple principle here: 22 For the Father judgeth no man; but hath committed all judgment unto the Son; 23 That all should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who honoreth not the Son, honoreth not the Father who hath sent him. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He who heareth my word, and believeth on him who sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death into life. Simply put, the evil spirit do not give honor to both GOD and HIS beloved Son.
  3. GOD can only command which honors HIM. This is HIS power. Honor is the key to HIS power.
  4. In Mormon Doctrine, Elder McConkie writes that "Intelligence or spirit element became intelligences after the spirits were born as individual entities. Use of this name designates both the primal element from which the spirit offspring were created and also their inherited capacity to grow in grace ..." (p.387). This view seems to consider intelligence, or pure element, as collective and not individual in its nature, and is consistent with the views expressed by President Penrose. If this is true, then we have not always existed as individual entities, but only as a collective something.
  5. I would change this to read: anything that is physical (outiside our limited creation), or organic life have intelligence.

  9. Catacomb archeological superintendent Fabrizio Bisconti points to frescoes discovered with the earliest known icons of the apostles Peter and Paul in a catacomb located under a modern office building in a residential neighborhood of Rome. Pier Paolo Cito, Associated Press EXCERPT: ROME — Twenty-first century laser technology has opened a window into the early days of the Catholic Church, guiding researchers through the dank, musty catacombs beneath Rome to a startling find: the first known icons of the apostles Peter and Paul. Vatican officials unveiled the paintings Tuesday, June 22, discovered along with the earliest known images of the apostles John and Andrew in an underground burial chamber beneath an office building on a busy street in a working-class Rome neighborhood. The images, which date from the second half of the 4th century, were uncovered using a new laser technique that allows restorers to burn off centuries of thick white calcium carbonate deposits without damaging the brilliant dark colors of the paintings underneath. 10. I would suggest in purchasing a book(s) that gives all of his journal entries.
  11. I believe it is. I left a message on an earlier post on the forum, concerning Joseph Smith account about the last days, where the church will again unearth the plates for translation. I truly believe all of these plates are located within the vicinity of the New Jerusalem. Even with the cave story, someone from the church already managed to use ground penetrate radar on the hill, seeking to find or verifying if there is a cave. The results were negative. Even if David Whitmer was right with his story, stating it is near the hill, I highly doubt we are allowed to unbury the plates or find the cave. But, both Joseph and Oliver stated, when they approach the hill (North West side), the hill just opened up. This makes me believe, unknown powers was used by Moroni in transferring both of them to another location may be the probable answer. But I could be wrong. In my own curiosity, I have obtained a USGS earlier photo of the hill and can easily see ground marking, what looks like a canal or venting holes on top of the hill, arrows pointing towards the hill on both sides, and so forth. The interesting part, it looks like a entrance on the middle southern side of the hill. Strange but interesting to note these ground features. Remember Justice, never had Joseph called the hill Cumorah. He simply called it a hill. I have the same map that is filed in the church archives revealing the journeys of Moroni drawn by two members of the church. It reveals that Moroni started in the land of desolation and through various stoppages, Moroni ended at the hill. But, this is another topic.

  16. I would recommend purchasing the book called 'The Miracle of Forgiveness.' It reveals the dos and don’ts with sins and forgiveness. Sister Sheri Dew had a simply statement concerning repeatable SINS that is a remarkable; Sin cultivates pride, which also distorts and deceives. Why did Laman and Lemuel endure four days of incredibly rough seas once they bound Nephi? Because they were too proud to admit their wrongdoing and repent. In short, repeated sin dulls receptivity to the Spirit. It dulls all righteous emotions and senses. It is simply not possible to indulge in a pattern of willful sin and (1) feel love from others, including the Lord, or (2) give love to others or the Lord. I remember watching one friend make years of bad decisions and choices based upon "how he felt." But he felt the way he did because the cycle of his sinning never stopped. While immersed in sin, he couldn't feel any love for his wife or love from her. He couldn't feel love for other family members, including his children. Nor could he feel the deep love of many who were reaching out to him in an effort to help. This is the reason that those engaged in an affair can think they are in love, when it really isn't possible to feel real love—the pure love of Christ—while engaged in immoral acts. The lack of the Spirit makes them stupid, allowing Lucifer to present his counterfeit, which is lust and attraction and immediate self-gratification. ('No One Can Take Your Place' by Sheri Dew) But Elder Darrell H. Oaks said it best; Why is it necessary for us to suffer on the way to repentance for serious transgressions? We tend to think of the results of repentance as simply cleansing us from sin. But that is an incomplete view of the matter. A person who sins is like a tree that bends easily in the wind. On a windy and rainy day, the tree bends so deeply against the ground that the leaves become soiled with mud, like sin. If we focus only on cleaning the leaves, the weakness in the tree that allowed it to bend and soil its leaves may remain. Similarly, a person who is merely sorry to be soiled by sin will sin again in the next high wind. The susceptibility to repetition continues until the tree has been strengthened. When a person has gone through the process that results in what the scriptures call a broken heart and a contrite spirit, the Savior does more than cleanse that person from sin. He also gives him or her new strength. That strengthening is essential for us to realize the purpose of the cleansing, which is to return to our Heavenly Father. To be admitted to his presence, we must be more than clean. We must also be changed from a morally weak person who has sinned into a strong person with the spiritual stature to dwell in the presence of God. We must, as the scripture says, “[become] a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord.” (Mosiah 3:19.) This is what the scripture means in its explanation that a person who has repented of his sins will “forsake them.” (D&C 58:43.) Forsaking sins is more than resolving not to repeat them. Forsaking involves a fundamental change in the individual. King Benjamin and Alma both speak of a mighty change of heart. King Benjamin’s congregation described that mighty change by saying that they had “no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually.” (Mosiah 5:2.) Alma illustrated that change of heart when he described a people who “awoke unto God,” “put their trust in” him, and were “faithful until the end.” (Alma 5:7, 13.) He challenged others to “look forward with an eye of faith” to the time when we will “stand before God to be judged” according to our deeds. (Alma 5:15.) Persons who have had that kind of change in their hearts have attained the strength and stature to dwell with God. That is what we call being saved. Heed the Warnings (LDS.org - Ensign Article - Sin and Suffering) Regarding private and personal prayers, it only becomes a normal or daily communication, as a person communicated with another, when you are sealed by the Godhead. When this happen, it is a conformability state but the formal prayer verbiage still remains as before but on a lesser scale than giving formal prayer when in public or giving prayers in behalf of others. Interesting take is seeing how the Lord gives utterance to the FATHER in 3rd Nephi19:19-23: 19 And it came to pass that Jesus departed out of the midst of them, and went a little way off from them and bowed himself to the earth, and he said: 20 Father, I thank thee that thou hast given the Holy Ghost unto these whom I have chosen; and it is because of their belief in me that I have chosen them out of the world. 21 Father, I pray thee that thou wilt give the Holy Ghost unto all them that shall believe in their words. 22 Father, thou hast given them the Holy Ghost because they believe in me; and thou seest that they believe in me because thou hearest them, and they pray unto me; and they pray unto me because I am with them. 23 And now Father, I pray unto thee for them, and also for all those who shall believe on their words, that they may believe in me, that I may be in them as thou, Father, art in me, that we may be one. 3 Nephi 19
