  1. BTW, anyone here have any great stories how they lost alot of weight eating nothing but the best of healthy foods?
  2. I just wish the saying "this church is true" in sacrament. If it wasn't, the speaker would be in another faith. People attend for a reason. We are not the biggest of all the faiths but it is built on the right principles, no paid ministry except HQ administration. No false idols, keeping the sabbath holy and obeying the principles of the Bible and BOM. The problem lies where commercialism are in a pending collision course. Big chain stores open on Sundays here "was not like this 20 years ago".
  3. Well Vort, those are normal needs that everyone has to have :) But when a husband/wife takes the money and buys a new CAR from a dealership, Buys new Furniture, Buys a new HiFi stereo system, Buys a 1,000 Shed kit Buys a new mattress and many more items not needed, when there is nothing wrong with the old and is two years old..while the other spouse is unemployed and looking for work..that IS a problem. BTW, happy Easter everyone. Think of this day when Christ was torture and dragged his cross to the end and what it means to you all. I plan to fly to Isreal some day to see for my very eyes of the ground he walked on and the hill of Calvary.
  4. Eowyn unfortunately my wife does not believe in that. Her money is her money and she still refers to most things in the town house as "hers or Mine".
  5. I once heard of a story of a mom who fed her baby so many beets, he turned purple! :)
  6. I gave my wife a 20 for two deodorants she purchased for me and not even cringing about the change and told her enjoy the difference. Walked to the dog park and found a 100 dollar bill lying on the ground two days ago. I almost missed it because it blended so well with the leaves and gravel. I intend to give it to the church, since I did not earn it. I walked into a groshrie store knowing fully aware, I could end up short on my bank account to pay for my food at the store. I walked out side to my car, and found 120 dollars on the ground. I have already told this store before. Mona, if you are running your fuel down to the empty on the fuel gauge, you could be over heating your fuel pump and shortening its life. Fuel acts as a coolant for modern day electric fuel pumps. Do not allow it to go no less then 1/4 full to make the fuel pump last a long time.
  7. It is funny how these informertials can get the audiance all hyped up how there product is better for your health, then other products or just eating the vegtivles by them selves. But the fact that it is a illusion is fact. The only advantage to a juicer, is it is more convient to drink the veggies then to eat them other then that, eat the veggies and enjoy the pulp.
  8. Cannot think of another reason. BTW, that 70 probably had a vested interest in the publisher of the book of Mormon and did not want to loose money on it :) Pads and phones not only are replacing the book of Mormon, but computers, printers, and laptops in some cases. It is just a evolution of the printed text. BTW, there was a report that did say today's kids are having problems being able to print and write in cursive.
  9. Just say "go and sprout some wings and buzz off" what is ksl?
  10. I have seen members with the "holly are though" attitude and it turns me off. Just think of this way for a new investigating member, a holly are though attitude is a holly though forget it" and leave the church. That is the fastest way for members to exit the church fast.
  11. Glad you are investigating. Are you working in a industry that is non service related? eventually some day, you may switch careers to where Sundays will be available to you most if not all the time. We have had members stop attending because of work commitments "sad" and it was never like that in Canada. The nice thing about the faith, is it is a non pressurized faith and you can learn at your own pace. There is lots of material online at lds.org so if you have questions you can refer there or to us.
  12. if there are gangs in the area and he paints over there art work, he could be shot on the spot. time to see a shrink and find a alternative to his emotional high. Can you afford to send him to sky diving school?
  13. Good dates are like a test drive. Do not get to serioes at first. Give it time and tell the other, you are still dating others. Be friends at first. Datingings end goal of course, is marrige. Came across this article that may help What Makes a Marriage Work? | Psychology Today After you have dated and are ready for marrige or temle sealing, do some resurch in what makes old couples still be in love. That will set the frame work for a future releationship.
  14. Backroads, They do inspect items purchased. Some companies will also inspect your personal effects before you leave if you could have stolen company secrets. One company known to do this is Electronic arts. BTW, NRA has some serious issues since Brock Obama signed in some new laws that have yet to go though congress for approval. They are advocating that since Brock Obama's kids have guards, all schools need guards. Also, since the Us has the highest volume of guns manufactured and also sold, a good number of them are smuggled into Mexico. Before unveiling a massive billboard made of crushed gun parts, Calderon supervised the destruction of more than 7,500 automatic rifles and handguns at a military base in Ciudad Juarez. Calderon said more than 140,000 weapons have been seized since December 2006, when he launched a crackdown against drug traffickers. More than 47,500 people have been killed since then. I know my brother would appose tighter gun control laws. He had 23 guns, riffles, shot guns, assault riffles. But that's his problem. At least is is proactive and have them in a massive safe.
  15. Never fails, every time she gets up there she starts to cry and I can only understand half of what she says.
  16. Id say, this is far to late but, never less, its a start. Obama seeks assault weapons ban, background checks on all gun sales - CNN.com I think years ago, I had mentioned this, but I had lived in Belling ham Washington in 2000. I had driven a particular route as always from my house to work every day and back again. I always passed this one homeless shelter and some times, see homeless men stand on the curb smoking a cigarette. One particular homeless man got my attention. He was told African american and was wearing a military jackets and had his Basic training assigned duffle bag with him. What I found particular odd, was the fact he was caring a military duffel bag. What I did not know, what he was caring the weapon in it, that turned him into the DC Sniper. Yes, I was looking at John Allen Mohamad, years before he became the DC sniper. Now, my question is, why did the homeless shelter carry out a policy of inspecting all homeless shelter bags before coming in? That should be standard policy for the safety of its occupants. Should they had inspected it and he rejected and left, would that be justification for police to stop him and arrest him for the stolen AR-15 he had in his possession? That policy could have saved alot of lives.
  17. I bet if the speakers were to put a little humor into there speeches, it may help to keep is awake :)
  18. It would also cause you to sweat a little, tong may be on fire, eyes wide open. Less mild is horsh radish. Very tasty with beef.
  19. Really sad. His daughter passed away from the after effects of the shooting that happened a few weeks ago this past Friday in Sandy Hook elementary New town Ct. One thing he did state in front of the camera, that is is not angry but to move on, help other people and those people help other people and show compassion. Shooting victim's dad: 'This world is a better place because she has been in it' - CNN.com
  20. Pop a Halipinio pepper in your mouth just as sacrament is about to commence. That will keep you awake :)
  21. Even medication has a cap on its cost. Canada will not pay what US pharmaceutical companies will charge for medication because by law, medication is capped. In BC we do pay monthly medical insurance and everyone is required to do so. I think I pay 40 dollars per month as the other half pays it. The medical system is partly what draws immigrants here but...its becoming a burden when they being little in the form of high paying skills and can become a burden on the medical wait times.
  22. Really amazing story Epic combat valor: Soldier to receive Medal of Honor – CNN Security Clearance - CNN.com Blogs
  23. because the taxes were reduced, not increased to pay for the war. The taxes on Americans were raised to pay for WWII. Look at these charts. It shows Americans have not had these good tax rates for almost 100 years. Historical US Tax Rates Poster | The Big Picture File:USTaxRevenue1945-2011.jpeg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Canadians pay more in taxes but we also get better social services. Top income earners did have to pay 50% provincial/federal tax but that got hacked down to 45%. Still expensive. If I have to pay more of my income to the Us so be it. I save it a head of time so its not so painful.
  24. Simply uttering a threat to kill some one here would land you in jail. I agree with you about the direction drugs will lead some one. Death or prison are the only other choices.
  25. If a guard was not able to stop the carnage, then how would it differ if he was outside locked out. btw, seems most shooters are well geared with bullet proof vest or could be, does this mean the teacher will also wear a bullet proof vest every day? US has 88 guns per 100 people which makes it #1 in gun ownership vs any other country by a long shot. Seems to me, there are to many loose guns floating around or any real lack fo due diligence of gun sellers where the guns will get into the wrong hands of a future killer. My bet, implement the assault riffle ban and some how get rid of them. Hand guns may be second. BTW, Chicago had 500 murders from handguns or assault riffles last year.
