You are questioning the church aren't you? Am I expressing hatred towards you? 3. What site? the CF site? Did you post it on any pro-LDS sites? If you are truly investigating the church, even if it's only for the sake of information, you need to get in touch with the missionaries. That's what they're there for. This... is an example of "smugness".... or maybe that is "pride"... or "arrogance" as you implied. I view it as "smugness". How as that smug? This goes for anyone who wants to read this and explain to me how it can be seen as smug. I'm seriously asking because I seriously don't see it.

Hello Serapha, Yes that is fine. It is also untrue. You have told me twice that you are ignoring my posts which means, of course, that you are very much interested in my posts; but it was a nice effort anyway - pretending that you aren't interested. Still in all, I'll try to keep an open mind - I do like you after all - it just you messed up bigiometry that annoys me. My personal opinion is that Serapha doesn't know how to respond to things you say, so she pretends you've done something wrong and therefore she's going to take the "high road" and "ignore" you. I think she did the same thing to me. I asked legitimate questions without a single shred of mockery and I believe I was accused of "blasting" her and she informed me she would no longer answer my questions.

Serapha - Do you feel sorry for us because we don't believe in your Christ? (I say that because that was something that was said a lot on CF, that we believed in a different Christ. If this isn't your opinion, and you do infact think that our "Christ" and your "Christ" are the same person, then I do apologize.)

You've been "investigating" the church for 11 mos...this includes visiting an actual ward, correct? And no missionary offered to come visit you?BTW...if you were investigating all aspects of the church you may have heard of splits. In which a member goes out with the missionaries to do apts. Also you may have found out that most missionaries have access to a car, either the one they are sharing with perhaps another set of missionaries or by calling another member. Not only that, but if you were only interested in learning about the church, why did you not talk to the missionaries while you were at church? Or at the very least talk to them on the phone? I personally don't think you "investigated" hard enough. But not to fear...we have another month left! So let's go, anything in particular you want to know about the church? I'll be happy to talk to you, as I'm sure many others on here will be too.

That statement contradicts what some of the opposers on this board say. It seems to be the general consensus (sp) that we are too forward in sharing the gospel with others, even those who don't want to hear it. My personal opinion is that your statement isn't true. But I don't know you and I know no reason for you to lie, so I will assume it's true. I have a few questions. What do you believe is the attitude? And what hatred are you referring to? And can you give examples of how you inquired to learn the gospel and how others weren't willing to share?

I haven't read the article...my only excuse is it's too long and the first part doesn't interest me enough to keep reading. (Which is why I suggested you do snippits to discuss...I can do snippits far easier :)) Then again, it wouldn't matter to me whether anyone accepted historical evidence of the BoM. Many of us have a testimony of the BoM that isn't based on "historical evidence."

I've seen a lot of this in the church towards couples without children. My husband and I weren't trying to get pregnant the first 2 years of our marriage and we always had people say "So when you going to have kids?" For us it was no big deal. But I knew several girls who were having infertility problems and people constantly asking about children were doing far more harm than good. Now yes, I know the other members probably had no ill intentions, but it goes back to just minding your own business.The worse was my aunt. They went through so many infertility treatments, all while keeping it very private. As gossip travels it got back that a woman had suggested that my aunt and uncle were too materially and that they didn't want to sacrifice anything to have kids. It hurt my aunt a lot because they would have probably given anything up just to have a baby and someone who had no idea of the situation was busy spreading around her "assumptions".

I don't think that anything I said is different than what you are saying, except, though a Bishop's current duties may be the same as a Branch Pres, I believe they hold different keys... isn't a Bishop also called to serve as a judge in Zion? I was actually referring more to your statement of Wards only being were stakes were established. I grew up in the Charlotte Central Stake and we had a Shelby Branch and My grandmother was in the Salisbury Branch in the Winston Salem Stake.

I was banned with this msg.. "You have been banned from Christian Forums as a Troll. Your apparent purpose, as demonstrated in the post copied from LDStalk" So apparently you can be banned because of your actions on another board. The interesting thing is I told Spencer that I wasn't going to go back (before I even received word I was banned) and that I felt the weirdest feeling there, there's too much hate there, there's no room for the Love of Christ, and 99% of their posts dipict that. I truly feel sorry for them. All I know is that board made me appreciate our opposers here! We may disagree, but you guys give off a MUCH better vibe than their so-called Christians. I think some of that info is wrong Snow. My stake that I grew up in had 2 branches in it. My understanding is the membership is much lower and is called a Branch instead of a Ward. The town I was born in was a Branch until a few years ago and the Branch President did everything the Bishop did, except respond to "Hey Bishop..."

I had a friend who left and said that he refuses to attend another church because while he doesn't except all LDS beliefs, he knows it's more correct than other church out there.

As someone who is currently having problems due to spyware...I completely understand where your dad is coming from. That stuff will tear up your system. Are there other sites you can visit?
