  1. Unorthodox your prayers and thoughts are appreciated. President Hinckley is an absolutely awesome man that is love immensely by our Church membership. He is a sweet, kind, giving person that loves and serves the lord with his whole heart. President Hinckley is suppose to be recovering well and is expected to resume his normal activities very quickly, including going overseas as scheduled next month. He is a remarkable man.
  2. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISAJO AND MANY MANY MORE!!!
  3. I agree BenRaines, it is time that we STOP BEFORE WE LEAP and USE OUR HEAD before WE LOOSE IT!!!
  4. Seasons of Your Life There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away. The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen. The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment. The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only one season in the tree's life. He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up. If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall. Author Unknown Considering the passed few days, maybe this is something for all of us to ponder.
  5. Thank You LT, it would be our loss for you to leave. Glad you are staying... Do understand your feelings...
  6. Laurel Tree I do not question what you as mods do. You are here for our safety and to keep this site the kind of place we want to come too. I trust you and those that work with you and feel like you all do what you think is best for the site and all of us. I sincerely hope you decide to stay and I hope that you, as mods are allowed to do what you think is best, despite what other members believe to be right. Like you say, we don't know the whole story. I come to this site, because it is a great place to be and i want it to stay that way. If you leave, it will be loosing a very special part of itself.
  7. Josie

    Goodbye

Glad to hear that Taoist Saint
  8. Josie

    Goodbye

We are going to miss you...
  9. Thank You Heather
  10. SoulSearcher, as far as I am concerned that is exactly what you are here for. We all know the rules and if we don't keep them and you are not allowed to enforce them, then we have chaos and something that I don't want to come too. This is suppose to be a clean, safe place to come and relax and have fun. If I can't do that, then I don't want to come.
  11. I think it will be a dirty rotten shame if we loose Laureltree. She is a very nice person. There are lots of people talking about leaving, from mods to just members. And who is doing it? Why, it is us, the members, the ones that are bickering and fighting like cats and dogs in these forums and who knows where else... I just told a mod last night how sick I was of the forums and what was going on there... No, I cannot invite my friends here either due to the contention. I don't want them to get that impression of us as LDS people. I love this site, except for the contention and bickering. Even after Ben asked to stop except for in open forum, it started right back in this very same forum immediately. We profess LDS and then act like a bunch of I don't know what bickering with each other. SO STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Can't we discuss any topic w/o someone calling someone a name or putting them down in some way???????????? Please grow up and practice what you preach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. LOL@Ben, sounds to me like you asked for that one????????? Word of advice Pale, use your cell phone and don't give anyone the number, LOL. Then you won't be speaking every other Sunday, LOL...
  14. I would buy the doll and I don't think it was created to have anything to do with anything but the culture of those people in that part of the world and I think it is wonderful for the little girls and for the doll collectors.
  15. I am with Soul Searcher, let's just go forward....
  16. I agree with Soul. This is not accomplishing anything. We are not going back where we just came from, let's wash the board clean and start afresh. The board has been told what happened by Heather, things have been set straight, everyone knows where everyone stands. Let's grow up, wash the board clean of anything pointing fingers or tearing anyone down, and go from here, and when the moderators feel someone is out of line, they will take care of it and if we feel someone is out of line, we can always report them to a moderator. This is too nice a site to spoil it with this. Let's enjoy what Heather has given us and go forward from here, not backward....
  17. For the sake of this site, no one else has to delete my post, I will delete it myself. This site is more important to me than squabbling over garbage.
  18. That is great Heather, as far as I am concerned it should be #1. It is a great place to be.
  19. PC, I always appreciate your posts and your willininess to hear the other side. Thank you for also sharing own beliefs that differ from ours. It is a pleasant experience to have someone that earnestly seeks the truth out concerning the LDS Church from people that are active LDS, instead of turning to anti mormon literature or people that have left the church in anger. Some people don't understand that when you truly want to know about something, you don't go to someone that is angry with it or putting it down, but actually to the source itself.
  20. We all need to depend on Jesus Christ more and ourselves and others less. Not to say that we still don't have responsibility, we do! But to say that we need to put things in the hands of the Lord. "We pray like everything depends on the Lord, and work like everything depends on us." How many times have we heard that quote and yet do we really do it?
  21. Awesome Outshined!!! Still laughing!!!
  22. Welcome to both of you. Great Choices!!!
  23. PC, I agreee with you that G-d and Jesus Christ are just, and I think when the time of judgement comes, we are all going to accept judgement by them, because when that time comes we are going to see our life's span and already know what our judgement is. I think that those that were reaaly awful people here will be grateful that they are not in the Celestial Kingdom, because they will be too embarrassed and ashamed of their lives here to want to be in G-d's presence. There are going to be alot of lds that won't be there either because they failed to keep their covenants and do what they knew they were suppose too. I also believe that Christ will provide for all to be taught his gospel, the living and the dead, and that those that truly accept it and Jesus as their Savior will have the opportunity to have all things made well with them. I believe that we will be judged on how much of the truth we had provided to us and how much we accepted and committed ourselves when we were presented with the rest of it. I don't think there are going to be LDS, Baptists, etc. in heaven, I believe we will be of Christ's church or we will not. I believe there are good people in all religions as well as bad and there are good and bad people that have no religion at all. G-d and Jesus Christ only know our hearts and what we truly know and love them and have enough faith in them to trust them to judge all of us fair and equally. To be honest, I am glad to know that it is them judging us and not us judging us...
  24. Sean, Check with your Bishop. He may know someone in the ward that has a set of large scriptures you can use. Also, instead of a a quad, check about getting a Bible and a Triple. That is what i did. They work well and they are very inexpensive to buy new in the large print if you go with just a simple version with no index guides. They have the printed page indexes, but I am talking about the little colored tabs for each book. Just get the plaine large print scriptures and the missionaries can probably pick them up for you at the mission home very inexpensively or the Bishop can help you order them. They are as large as the big quad and easy to read. Oh, your Bishop is right about the temple. It is not secret, just sacred and a chat room is not the place to discuss it, but you did not know that. Remember, a baby crawls before it walks. You will learn little by little and it sounds like when you are ready your Bishop will get you to the temple, but learn all you need to to go there. You want it to be a wonderful experience that you are ready for, and you can't start out chewing meat, when you have not prepared your system with softer, milder foods first (meaning a baby starts on babyfood, not a steak). I am not trying to put you down in anyway, just hoping you understand that we all were in your shoes once upon a time, and we all had to develop and grow into where we are now.
  25. LT, I agree with you completely. I have seen people get so upset over things many times that is not even your alls faults. The board has a great group of mods that have always treated me fairly and from I see are doing a great job. You can't fix what you don't know about and you cannot be here every minute. We all know, or should know that we can pm or email any of you at any time and let you know if there is a problem. mods have helped me time and time again. I have came here since either 1998 or 1999, I cannot remember which, which except for the couple years i did not know the site was back up and I love the changes in the site and I love what the site offers me. I have searched many sites when this one was down and nothing has compared to it. I am so thankful for it.
