  1. What better source to get information on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, than going to the source itself. Either LDS.ORG or Momon.ORG? If a person wants accurate information about the church they should go to the source. If they want someone else's opinion, that is not necessarily accurate information, then that is another. The Church is the best place to get information about the Church. Just my opinion Josie
  2. I don't see any discussion to it, if we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and accept the scriptures as truth. Either they are true to a person or they are not, and if they are not, why does it matter anyway, to that individual? The scriptures are true, Jesus Christ did sacrifice His life for us, He did die on the cross, the scriptures say He gave up the ghost. And He WAS RESURRECTED. It happened! Period!
  3. Heather, I just read the story of this wonderful and faithful people and the Badgers. It was a wonderful and very faith promoting story. We just are not thankful enough for the temples we have so close to us. Thank you for sharing that with us.
  4. WHY Women Live Longer Mom and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed" She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches. Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the ereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning. She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer, ironed a shirt and secured a loose button She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer. She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket and hung up a towel to dry. She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the field trip, and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair. She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped the envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her purse. Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her nails. Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed." "I'm on my way," she said. She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on. She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and TV's, hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework. In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals. About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular. "I'm going to bed." And he did...without another thought. CAUSE WE ARE MADE FOR THE LONG HAUL..... (and we can't die sooner, we still have things to do!!!!)
  5. I find my happiness through faith. I mean faith in Jesus Christ and knowing when I have done all that I can, He will take care of the rest. I am not perfect at this yet, but I have found much happiness in working toward that goal.
  6. Well, poor pity me Pam, I have known all 3 of you for close to 9 years. But, I am happy to call all of you my friends, LOL.
  7. Poor pity me, I can no longer ride the rides at the parks.
  8. Welcome to the site and very glad to have you. There really are alot of good people here and I hope you find some good friends. Like Ben said though, just be careful. Josie
  9. Poor pity me, I have never been out of the US, except to Canada.
  10. That is something that so many of us tend to forget all too easily, Susie
  11. It would be wonderful if they would find them alive and be able to get to them and get them out. It would truly be a blessing from God.
  12. LOL@Pam
  13. As much as my mother went through, and also my father, and my son before his death, I am not in favor of killing anyone. When nothing can be done to help someone, I am in favor of keeping them comfortable, but put them to death, NEVER!!!
  14. Alaskagain, You are correct in your understanding. I apologize. I am simply saying that beyond DNR, sometimes treatment is carried too far, when there is no hope.
  15. My mother had one and had told all of us kids what she wanted. We still had to fight the doctors. They do not stop treating a person until they determine that they can do nothing else, even though the person and family are ready to take comfort measures only.
  16. My mother had signed a DNR and I still had to sign one for her at the hospital and fight the drs to let her go. I could keep them from using any extreme measures, but I really had to put my foot down after she had suffered for 5 days and tell them to stop everything but comfort measures and let her go because they could do not one thing to save her. I loved and still love my mother beyond all words, but to watch what she went through because a doctor was bound by legal obligations to keep treating her to help her get better, because he did not consider her far enough gone yet to stop everything but comfort measures, was beyond all description. She suffered terriblily for 5 days, until I threw a fit with the dr and by then they were finally admitting that they could no longer help her. She died in peace, but what she suffered the 5 days before was uncalled for. I am not talking about doing anything to end her life. I am just saying that it is ridiculous to make a person suffer like she did. When a person is dying, there is no need to let them lay and suffer like my mother did. Even if they continue to give them medication they can still give them medication to keep them comfortable too, until they are called home.
  17. You are cute Dror.
  18. It would not hurt to try it. If it does not work, try the baking soda and vinegar. Roll the windows down and let the car air out too...
  19. The best place to get your information is from those two missionaries. They will be able to answer your questions in a way that you can understand, if you are sincere in your desires. If you think you cannot remember all of your questions, write them down.
  20. Have not heard of it PC, but it sounds awesome.
  21. If looks is what we put value on for choosing friends or mates for that matter, then we have a serious problem.
  22. My temple recommend is the most precious thing I own. If the Lord says put a bar code, a picture, or a thumb print on it, it is okay with me. After all, it really belongs to Him and is only on loan to me as long as I live worthy to carry it. It is a gift from Him, it does not matter what it has on it, but how I use it or what I do with it, after He has so graciously given it to me. Just my opinion Josie
  23. Heaven must be joyous to have him home. I do feel for his family however. Loosing loved ones is very difficult, one of the hardest trials we face in this life, for many atleast.
  24. I agree with Pam, it would be wonderful for everyone, especially the families of these miners.
  25. That short little post says so much Pale. Thank you for sharing it. It gives or should give pause for all of us and much thought.
