  1. Heather, I thought it was fixed because I found that all I had to do was click on "links" at the top of the page as soon as I brought up the site and I was logged in and at the right page. So all anyone has to know that is already a member is that if they just click on Links at the top of the page when the new first page comes up, that it takes them back to the original page (though rearranged slightly) and they know where to go from there and are logged in as usual.
  2. Thanks Heather, you did a great job. This was much better this afternoon. Much much better. Hope you understand, I was not meaning to complain, and did not want it to sound like that, was stating that I liked it so much better the other way, but it would not have stopped me from coming, LOL. You are a great lady and I know you are working very hard for us.
  3. I love the new reply board, the way it is set up. We do like to be able to see who is in the chatroom before we go in, and I think some people actually steer away from chat when they don't know who they are going in on, sometimes. I also liked not having to log in everytime I enter the site.
  4. Heather, I hate the new front page for the site. I understand why you are posting the information you, but can it be displayed in bold face type and everything put back on that opening page so we can choose where we want to go, who is in chat, etc. It was so nice, because we could view everything on the site on the same page and just click whereever we want to go. That is only suggestion, just bring back our front page, even if it is rearranged. I thought there was plenty of room to put that notice there and still have a similar layout to what you had before. Thanks for listening Josie
  5. Love the site Heather, and really appreicate it being here for us.
  6. Thanks Heather, Thought I had tried all the little buttons lol. Also thought I had read the help page atleast fairly well. Guess it was not well enough. Hard to teach this old dog new tricks, I guess. Like a kid, you got to take them by the hand and show them.
  7. WOW, Heather, You have thought of everything, lol. That solves that problem totally. Thank you so much for letting me know it is there... That is just so much better... Thank you again, for that and all you do here for us. Josie
  8. Heather, My only question is, is there a way to make the chatroom window alittle bigger so that when there is alot of people in there, we have a chance to read what is being written? It moves so fast that it is hard to keep up with the conversation when several people are talking? If you cannot, I understand. Just curious if that is possible. Thanks Josie
  9. Welocme to our site and yours now, we hope. Join us in chat, start a blog, start a forum, whatever you feel comfortable with. Enjoy, it is a great place to be.
  10. I Agree!!! We have had alot of fun within the chatroom on our names being changed. We all enjoy alittle play now and then. When it is play and temporary only, why make a fuss??? It is just in fun.
  11. I think you will find what you are looking for here. If you are looking for negative people, then there are some here and easily found. But if you want to find positive people, then there are plenty of them here too. I have been on this site or atleast communicating with several of its members for about 7 or 8 years now. I have found wonderful, positive friends here and a place that you can see, I keep coming back too. The site has great moderators that do their best to keep trouble, bad language, and personal attacks out of the site. And if you have a problem you can pm one of them and they will do all they can to help you. They are good people. The owner of the site is working hard to keep it updated and the best possible site she can create for us. I would like to welcome you here and tell you that this is a nice place to be, regardless of religion, beliefs, etc. It is an LDS site and LDS standards are expected here, but I have always seen that as a positive, since they keep this site a clean positive place as much as is possible.
  12. I thought it was very interesting that God was referred by the word "she" over and over....
  13. PC, I do value freedom of speech very much so in this country. I basically agree with you on what you said. I was referring to the fact that not long ago, the IRS went after the minister of a church because he suggested who his congregation should vote for in a public election. Yet they let someone like this walk away without a word. To me freedom of speech is one thing, but when a public figure like that calls for the assassination of the leader of a nation, he is playing with fire, and he does not know who is going to take him at his word and go do it. We can disagree with the policies of a nation, or what a leader has said without telling the people to go murder him, even if it is a figure of speech. I think responsibility comes with leadership. Incidently I also agree with you about our religion or faith spilling over into every aspect of our lives. I think Latter-day Saints understand that as much as any religion in the world. A person true to the faith, has it governing every aspect of everything they do.
  14. I feel like Pat Robertson is a huge trouble maker in our society and trying very hard to upset people and insite violence throughout the world with his comments. Maybe it is time that someone started censoring him? If a minister makes any kind of political statement to his church, the irs is bringing action against them to take their tax exempt status away from them. If calling for the assassination of the leader of one country and saying another's health issues are brought upon him by God is not political, I don't know what is. Maybe the irs should look at taking his tax exempt status away and the US government consider what action to take because of his call for the murder of a man. Especially with that man being the leader of a country that is already in great termoil. What is the difference in that and trying to find someone to murder someone else? What is the difference in him and Al Cida (How ever you spell it). Why are we tolerating this in this country?
  15. To my knowledge none of the witnesses of the Book of Mormon ever denied it to be true, even those that left the Church. What is important to remember is that most of those that left the Church did so with lack of understanding. Atleast many did. They did not know the laws of God or the Church well enough to understand who the next prophet was to be or how he was to be chosen. Brigham Young was the President of the Quorum of the Twelve and he was called of God to lead the people West out of the mobs and persecution. As far as Emma, part of the reason she stayed behind was to take care of her mother and although men with beliefs of how things should be done convinced her that her son should be the next prophet, I don't know that we can hold her completely accountable for her decisions. She never denied the truthfulness of the Church or the Book of Mormon. That woman had been through much in her short life and had just lost her husband at the hands of a mob while he was in jail on trumped up charges. She had young children and so very much on her and had had for many years. As far as all the different sects out there that claim the name of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in one way or another, we all realize that they do not have the fulness of the gospel as we have, nor a true prophet of God. They can call themselves anything they want too, but that does not make it so...
  16. Thank you Franken and Sethus.

  18. Plural marriage has been practiced from the beginning of time. It was in the old testament. Many times the Old Testament talks about the prophets having more than one wife, and if they did, surely others did also. A man may be sealed to more than one woman, a woman may not be sealed to more than one man at a time. A second or third wife is not sealed to the children of the first wife. She and her children are sealed to the husband, not to the other wife or children of that husband. Also remember that that sealing does no good if both people do not live up to the covenants of that sealing. It will be null and void. Also remember, (atleast to my knowledge), the first wife has to accept any other sealings for them to remain in affect. If a woman is sealed to someone else and wishes to be sealed to another man, her sealing to the first must be cancelled before the second can take place and that has to be done through the first presidency of the church. Also, remember that only those that live worthy to enter the highest degree of the Celestial Kingdom will remain sealed to anyone. One reason that women are not sealed to more than one man, is because the man that lives worthily will follow the lineage of his Priesthood, and if the woman is to be with the man, she cannot go with 2 or 3 different men at the same time, because they will go with their Priesthood authority and so she cannot divide herself into pieces to go with each. The Priesthood always carries the leadership and the authority to act in the name of God and who else's work will we be about in Celestial kingdom, but God's?
  19. I think ToasterOfen said it about as well as anyone could. For the most part, I think the mods do a great job and we have a great site here, thanks to Heather. None of us are perfect. But on the whole this is a great place to be. As Laureltree said, this site is great place to come to when you need friends to help you through tough times. I came to this site frightened and going through sorrows that I could not begin to cope with alone, and the moderators of this site took me under their wings and nurtured me through more than I can ever begin to thank them for. There are good people here, mods and chatters alike. Look for the good in people and this site. There is alot of room here for everyone.
  20. Heather, I have been coming to this site since about 1998 and I have seen it evolve over that period and it is a great place to be. I feel like I can come here and relax and chat with friends and unwind from a days work. I have made some friends on this site that have lasted and continue to last throughout the years. I was very pleased with the changes you had made in the site when the large group of us that use to chat here found when we came back. Just regret that we did not know the site was here for a couple years. It is far better than anything else we have been able to find. Thank you for such a nice place to come.
  21. I knew Palerider on the original ldstalk and we have been friends for several years. He is a great person and a good example for all of us. Pale, you are certainly welcomed back to us.
  22. I generally do not check a person's religion before making a purchase from them. Of course there are certain things I would particularily look specifically for an lds store or disturbution center for. But for general purposes I usually do not go to a place to buy specifically because I know the owner is lds. How can we spread the gospel and god's word without communicating with people that are not lds? Not that I am going into a place to preach, I don't, but our works, actions, spirit can preach far more than our words. We have to live in the world without being a part of it.
  23. Beautiful story with beatiful meaning. We need to keep its meaning in our lives and use it, and not just tell it. We can accomplish so much through working together and each contributing his or her part, and most of the time, accomplish very little on our own.
  24. Heather, You work so hard to give us such a nice place to come to and open up new opportunities for us. I truly appreciate the site and what it provides for us. I enjoy the friends I have made here and the opportunity to have a clean place to come and chat and share opinions. It sounds like you are trying to add some really great features. Thank you for giving us what you have and what you continue to.
  25. Paul, I don't think you or one or all of us going to that board and condemning them for what they did is going to help the issue. Many christians already have a very bad opinion of the Latter-day Saints and our retaliation at their remarks and beliefs of us is only going to make their opinion worse. Remember, Christ told Peter to turn his cheek 7 times 7 if I remember correctly. It was many times, regardless. Our Prophets have also told us not to Bible bash and argue scripture. We all feel the need to defend our Church when someone tears it down, but we are winning any battles, we are probably widening the gap even farther. I am very careful of what boards and sites I go to. I know there are people out there that hate us and don't believe in what we believe. I don't go looking for it and tend to stay away from places that subject me to most of it. Does not mean I am right and you are wrong. I was speaking for myself only... I am just saying that we have to teach by the spirit and I am not sure how much spirit exists on boards in chatrooms.
