So if the police officer is the one who starts the chase, you mean then he isn't at least partially to blame if there is a bad outcome, such as a child getting hit, as a result of the chase?

Gee, from what I hear, that's about times when most married couples get started.

When it comes to either saving Andy Dick or the fly, my votes for the fly.

Can album titles count or is it just strictly song titles?

If everything else in the marriage is good, then I don't see what the problem is. This doesn't appear to be any different than a "one spouse Protestant/one spouse Catholic" type marriage and I know about a 1/2 a dozen of them and they all seem just fine. It seems that the ones that have a problem with religion in their marriages are the ones that CHOOSE to make it a problem. You do your thing in regards to the church and freely allow her to do her thing and go back to focusing on the many other positive aspects of your marriage. There's no two spouses ANYWHERE that agree on absolutely everything in a marriage, so just allow this to be that one thing. Hope everything works out for ya'.:)

Holy cow!!! Is that little girl O.K.? I can't believe how everybody is so worried about this idiot and sustaining his calling, but nobody has even bothered to ask or is even the least bit curious as to how the little girl is doing??!! Did she suffer any burns? I can't believe this!!

I think it's to test to see how far we'd go in obeying our leaders. Funny thing is, when I was at Utah State, I had a friend make a comment that has stuck with me to this day. He said, "I know some Mormons who'd go head first off a bridge if just their bishop commanded them to because they believe he's inspired." I've always kinda wondered about that and from what I've seen from a few LDS I know, he may not be that far off the mark.

Yeah that's it, keep looking through those Sandra Tanner, Walter Martin, Ed Decker and Dee Jay Nelson books. Hey, if you're gonna go the anti route, don't sell yourself short from the best.

Why is it when trying to explain the gospel to AJ, it's always like debating 'apples and oranges, apples and oranges, apples and....'

Yes, nice avatar AJ.:)

I clearly understand after one is born again that good works will follow as a result of ones sincere faith in Him, but I hope that you're not telling me that works are optional and that you can still get to heaven without having to do anything on your part. If so, then that belief EMPHATICALLY goes against what Jesus said to the young rich man in Matthew 19.
-
We our saved by our faith in Him AND our obedience to His commandments. The two go hand in hand and one is not complete without the other. (Matthew 19:16-21, James 2:14-17)

Why not ask the girl who she'd rather have sign the note? I think that would be a no brainer. She can see her father at anytime, but to meet the President of the United States is a once in a lifetime experience that I'm sure that little girl will never forget.

LOL...Oh wow, what was I thinking! That's right, according to the anti's, I only believe in parts of the Bible. Heck, some have even told me that I don't believe in any of it at all. Man, I don't know what came over me. Now that I've regained my senses, I'll just go back to reading my Journal of Discourses scripture and praying to Joseph Smith. Thanks for setting me straight, Bytor.

Then how do you explain Matthew 19:16-21 where the rich young ruler asked Jesus what he had to to in order to get into the Kingdom of Heaven and His response to him was to keep the Ten Commandments, and to give what he had to the poor - nothing else! Wouldn't you agree that both of these things are constituted as works? Now it's assumed that Jesus knew that the rich young man had a great faith and love in Him, but He said that it MUST be accompanied with works and not by merely having faith alone, which without the works, produces a dead belief. (James 2:14-17) Faith and works DO go hand in hand in order to gain salvation and one is not complete without the other. Like you AJ, I'm just going by what the Bible tells me.:)

It's no longer about battles, it's now about winning an entire war?! I don't understand, who (or what) is it you are trying to wage war against? And who is "we"?
