  1. Because he is a good father. He is just like any other father who tells his son not to fornicate but gives him a condom, just in case. Bad analogy, but fitting none the less. Heavenly Father sends the Holy Spirit so that it then becomes their decision to accept and listen or not to. Heavenly Father does everything in his power but leaves his children with their agency. God paved the road; it's up to us to use it or not. He's just being a good father.
  2. Actually I decided not to vote for Bush long before this occured after what he allowed to happen to people like Howard Stern.
  3. Maybe in the pre-existance they didn't think that they would be ok when they came to Earth. Maybe they figured that they would sin a lot and if they were given free agency they would abuse it and wouldn't be able to return to Heavenly Father. So maybe they chose the plan, Satan's plan, that would allow them to return to Heavenly Father regardless of what happened. Think of it this way. If you were forced to take a trip halfway around the world, would you choose to go first class even though it would be difficult to come back or would you go economy if it would be easy to get back? It's a weird analogy but works all the same.
  4. Poor guy. I just realized you'll miss Spiderman 2. Ha!
  5. Some other stuff. San Bernadino County has about 50 people per square mile. Seriously. You'll understand why when you figure out that San Bernadino County is about twice the size of Connecticut. Must mean it's big. Happy tracking!
  6. I'm curious. Can the third that chose Satan's plan repent from their mistake of siding with him and warring with the remaining spirits in the pre-existance? Or does that not count as one mistake. If you knew that you really had no chance of coming back to live with Heavenly Father, would you choose the plan that would allow you to come back, no matter what? Would you choose Satan's plan if it meant that you'd have to spend your entire life doing what you were told in order to come back or would you choose to be free to do what you want even though you knew that your actions would prevent you from coming back? Are the third that chose Satan damned for eternity?
  7. Maybe Islam. Everyone's going Islam these days. Or Hindu.
  8. We need to sticky topics like this. Every new member that comes in is going to start up the same poll. BTW, LDS here.
  9. Some quotes that caught my eye: Lol @ the last one.
  10. There is also all those people that practice polygamy still and don't have any church to go to. So you've got 1 for each group of polygamists.
  11. Tete: 7/16ths of an inch. That is the distance you'd have to move your pinky finger from the "a" key to the "CAPS LOCK" key in order to get people to read your post. Naomi: Make sure you find a bible-loving church with a prophet. Otherwise make sure it has some good reason to explain all the problems with the bible.
  12. All I know about San Bernadino is that it is basically hot. And during the hot months it's, well, hotter. It gets hot in the summer too. Come to think of it it's hot there in the winter also. So therefore it's hot all round. Also San Bernadino is the largest county in the WORLD!!! The county itself comprises of a lot of desert. Hopefully everyone is packed in one neat little area and there isn't an investigator on the other side of all the sand dunes. Well happy tracking!
  13. eh, I'm seeing it as something bowl-like but that would hold an entire battleship. Then assuming that it's possible I'm thinking of the entire gallon of water sort of as a barrier between said bowl-shaped battleship holder and the battleship itself. Sort of like a lubricant that doesn't really lubricate. So I'm thinking it could be possible it's just that I don't think the water would actually hold up the battleship and I don't know if a gallon of water could fill like a paper thin between the bowl-shaped battlship holder and the said battleship. But then again I don't have any fancy shmancy scientific backround to prove anything.
  14. How bout we not, and let God sort it out when we're all dead. Can't we all just get along?
  15. No it's not. Just as barring players from games isn't.
  16. Edward Thorpe's (author of Beat the Dealer) way of counting cards was very difficult. But his basic strategy was right on, and with only using basic strategy the house has about a .5% advantage over the player, which can be regarded as a fair loss for the time played. Cheaper than arcades really. Counting cards will help the player identify situations in which he has a better chance or a worse chance of winning. When he has a better chance to win, he bets higher than his normal bets. When he has a low chance of winning he bets his minimum bet. By doing this he can slowly make more money than he loses. It doesn't really matter if you can see the burned card or not. The burned card can be considered a card at the bottom of the deck that will never get seen. Most casinos don't go to the bottom of the deck where counters can really get a feel for the deck and understand the composition. Also most casinos use more than one deck. Up to 8 decks in fact. This makes it a little more difficult for the player to count and makes each series of plays to the next cut longer. The deck stays more even and doesn't stay positive too long. But there are certain times where it does get positive and stay there for a long time due to the neutrality of how the cards come out. Some counters like it better this way, some don't. Everyone should at least learn basic strategy so you can have some fun at blackjack and not worry about playing on hunches.
  17. It's really not gambling. And it's not that fun if you ask me. It's hard work. Difficult to make a living too. You get barred if you're caught counting.
  18. Actually everybody wins. They just lose more often than they win. And mario is old school.
  19. Actually it is only a waste of your money and time when you don't understand the game you're playing. It takes a lot of effort in order to count cards at blackjack. You must constantly keep a few variable numbers moving in your head, for one example. How is that considered being idle?
  20. I always liked the southern baptists and their views on gays, blacks, and plate tectonics. Funny stuff. People are funny when it comes to religion. Scary sometimes too.
  21. Aren't the first 2 and the fifth the same? And the third a song? And the fourth something that God is taking an interest in?
  22. If we followed the word of wisdom to the word and not by the spirit then we'd be a bunch of fat asses dieing of heart disease at an early age. We wouldn't be drinking alcohol or caffeine but all that bread (made from grain) and lack of meat could really hurt us signifigantly. If that should ever happen it looks like we could get ourselves a D&C 139.
