I live in a small town that's growing. my townhouse is across the street from the highway, which is next to the railroad which divides the town into the "northside" and the "southside". I grew up on the northside of town. The far north side of town. When the house I grew up in was built, there were only 3 other houses on the block. Now, there are new houses everywhere. Most people in my town work either in factories (we have 5 factories in a 30 minute radius...3 which are in the 'industrial area'). We also have a lot of people in town who work on the oil rigs. My town is built over an old mine, and there is a lot of horizontal drilling still going on in the area. There is also a lot of farming in the area. Across the street from the hospital (which is still in town), there is farmland, which is still farmed. Although many people who have farms in town are selling so houses can be built. Our main crop here is corn, we have a festival every summer celebrating the corn. Houses in my town sell from anywhere from 120,000 to 1.2 million (yeah...really...and there's more than one that are worth that price). not bad for a town that takes 5 minutes to drive from one side of town to the other. There are less than 8000 people who live in my town. Rent for pretty much anything in town ranges from 500-800/month. I know this post is choppy....but so is my town. I live in southern Alberta Canada. Calgary is 3 hours north. The American border to Montana is 1 hour south. I hear the trains go by at least once an hour....but i'm so used to it now (i've lived across the street from them for 4 years) that i hardly notice it. That's where I live.

some of the forums have had surgery to remove their funny bone. it's a harmless procedure and there's hardly any scarring involved. most people can't even tell that these forums are missing their funny bone, except for when a joke is accidentally told in the wrong forum. don't feel bad for those forums without their funny bones though, they get a lot of thanks instead :)

Most Embarrassing Moment. Yours or others

when i was going to Ricks, our FHE group decided to carve pumpkins for our activity one night. we separated into groups of 2 and carved away. most people did just normal pumpkins except the 2 brothers (bret-who i had a huge crush on and ben) in our group who carved a baby out of the pumpking. it was amazing. so the next week, we did a ward FHE. we carved pumpkins again that week. we all broke into our separate FHE groups and we had to carve one pumpkin per FHE group. we sat around for quite some time thinking what we could carve. i was sitting next to one of brets roommates, and across from one of my roommates as we sat there thinking. finally i came up with an idea and blurted out... "hey bret, you wanna make a baby? you're good at making babies." i didn't even realize what i had said until sam, the roommate, turns to me and says "what did you just say????" i turned bright red and shut up after that. the end. -
i didn't see my breath this morning!!! yay!!!!

oh i have so many favorite desserts. but i'm going to say one that i rarely have, but it's so delicious. lemon angel food cake. you just get an angel food cake, then cut it up into thin slices. then you mix frozen pink lemonade and cool whip. then you layer the 2 in a cake pan stick it in the freezer til frozen top with shredded coconut. mmmm. so sweet, but so good.

i'm 28 and my mom is finally letting go (she actually just called me to let me know she's backing off and letting me take the reigns on buying a new car cause she realized that i probably know just as much as her if not more about it hehe). anyways, she recently said to me something that her dad once told her. "i've made my mistakes, i have to let you make yours". what a relief it was to hear my mom say those words to me. we've all made right and wrong choices, but there comes a point where a parent has to say "i've done all i can do. i've taught them all i can. it's time to let them put what i've taught them into practise, and pray for the best." and it may not always turn out the way you want it to, but at some point down the road they will most likely realize "hey, mom really did know best." let her make her mistakes. controlling her is only going to make her want to rebel more. but keep praying for her. i know my moms silent prayers for me through my roughest times, when she was worried about me the most, are what kept me going. and most importantly love her. no matter her choices, just love her.

when i was 17 i went on a weekend trip with 3 friends. we had so much fun. they were 18 and 19. when i was 18 i went on a road trip with 2 friends, both 19. again, so much fun. it's a learning experience. but she is 18. she'll make memories forever. does she have a cell phone? don't stress about it. just let her go and have fun. i know my mom probably freaked out about me going with my friends, but knowing that she trusted me to make good judgements made a lasting impression on me.

sorry for your loss pam, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers today. what a blessing it is for us to know that we will be met by our Savior after death. what a comfort it is to have that knowledge. *hugs* for you.

from wikipedia (and we all know we can trust EVERYTHING we read on wiki) A monokini, sometimes referred to as a unikini, is a woman's one-piece garment equivalent to the lower half of a bikini. This usage of bikini leaves the breasts uncovered. [1] The term monokini is also now used too for any topless swimsuit,[2] particularly a bikini bottom worn without a bikini top. Monokini - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
-
so, being unsure what a monokini was...i looked it up on google. and got a wikipedia page...which says a monokini is mostly referred to as a "topless bikini"...or women who go topless at the beach wear "monokinis"...i'm so confused!
-
that's why i'm president of WAMO (We Always Miss Out).. just another one to add to the list.

i like "tankini's" personally. i find they cover more and better than normal "one peices". maybe that's just me though. if you can get the cute little bottoms with a skirt, then the "tank" part for the top. i'm not a fan of bikini's though, on anyone. why anyone would want to show that much of their body is beyond me.
