I can understand the logic. Don't agree with it, but can understand why somebody would think that.

On that day, the better team did win. Will they be the better team the next time they play? Who knows. The USA does indeed have the best players in the world, no doubt. But good players don't necessarily mean the best team.

Of course this is true. But over time that heart and soul does fade, I know from experience. What keeps us coming back is that we are professionals who are dedicated to our jobs. I did not make a mistake in using the word "idiots". Most people the police deal with are indeed idiots. Most traffic collisions happen because somebody did something stupid because they had no concern for anybody but themselves. Their job is largely that of a social worker. As a paramedic I deal with people who are sick and injured, that many times are of no fault of their own. An 88 yr old man who is having a chest pain and difficulty breathing is not a burden to me, nor is an idiot. But the guy that I have to treat for a broken hand because he hit his wife, is an idiot. I wish that police, fire, and EMS didn't have to exist, but we do. In a perfect world, indeed, we would not exist.

I have never heard a word of any of this before 2 mins ago. Why? Because it happened in a small (190,000) Canadian city where the media doesn't pay a lot of attention to.I see stuff every day that makes me shake my head because nobody will ever know about it. It is sad and unfortunate.

I work with police officers every day. We work very closely. The best police officers are professionals who remember that the reason they exist is to make a difference, to serve and protect. Every idiot that we may come across is the reason why we have a job and a paycheck. Do they have to be perfect? Of course not. Just be capable of doing their job.

Ok, I will remember those words the next time a mormon does something to shame your church, rather than draw positive attention to it. We'll see if you support your fellow mormons then. I won't hold my breath because your church isn't known for supporting its members who are down and out.

No it isn't. Do you see the White Sepremists cheering for him? Whenever a black person does well do you see a rising of the NAACP? The only reason most people on this board care anything about this guy is because he is mormon and this looks good for your church. I'm not stupid, please don't pretend I am.

I find it so interesting the support this guy is getting from the mormon world. His winning has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he is mormon, it is simply because he is a smart person. But how most mormons seem to be getting behind him... it's admirable.

The problem with the guy who has won so many times in a row is that he has experience, wheras the people he's playing against do not. They are more nervous, and know they are competing against somebody who has obviously mastered the game. That's why I've always liked the times where they bring back the winners. But hey, this guy is cleaning up. Good for him.

Doug used to be a TBM who had a change of heart. I don't believe anybody on this board now was around when me and him would have our discussions. He was a real hardcore mormon. He was the last guy I would have ever expected to turn anti-mormon. The discussions with him were some of the most interesting and thought provoking that I've ever had on this board. Most mormons didn't like him because he went after what was most sacred to the LDS.

Moore is a ###### disturber. That's all he's ever been and that's all he'll ever be. He is doing documentaries because his fictional movies reeked.

Michael Moore doesn't care about anybody but himself. he has made a life of stirring up trouble. He says it's because he wants to make a change. He just wants to get some kind of publicity for being the hero he thinks he is. The good part about this is that most people seem bored of his antics. He's anti-Bush (and will be Anti-Kerry is that situation occurs), and basically he is anti-America. He is a jerk who has a public opinion, nothing more. He's no different than people who come on boards like this, give their opinions, don't listen to other people's points, and acts like he is superior. But this guy seriously needs to hit the gym, and learn to groom himself if he is going to appear in public.

I'm wondering why some of these people are receiving this medal at all. My question is where are the following people:Rudy Giuliani - for his actions on 9/11 Mother Teresa -posthumously - for her life's service Fr Michael Judge -posthumously - died while administering the last rights to a firefighter during the collapse of the first WTC tower on 9/11, and the first official casualty of the 9/11 terror attacks Each of these people is more deserving that each person on that list. That medal is one motivated by politics, not service.

Ok, you just wasted my time. I spend about 45 seconds reading your post. There was little in there that related to this discussion. I don't know why you are so resentful towards the US, and don't really care. But it is alarming how your bitterness has warped your reasoning and logic.
