  1. Do you think there are musical instruments in Heaven? I always hear people mention angels playing harps. But I love to imagine Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father both singing beautifully. And maybe playing the flute, or bagpipes, or something else. What do you think?
  2. My children are able to see and be around many people with different viewpoints and racial backgrounds, in church and in school. It has helped me and my husband show them the proper responses to differences, by never overreacting. Although, it's easier said than done!
  3. Welcome to an active return to the LDS church. I know you must love the church, and you want to partake of the wonderful spirit there. Wow, it makes me think of my own issues that are currently threatening my continued church activity. I will pray that you find a solution.
  4. Strangely enough, the most impure relationships I've seen in the LDS church have been in the heterosexual couples. Tell me, how honorable is it to leave a girl after you've gotten her pregnant. What makes straight couples think what they do is so much purer than gay sex?
  5. Ahh, if it were only so simple, so surreal. I prefer the complex explanation of dying over and over again in eternal damnation if you deceive in order to receive. BTW, I never did like Jolie.
  6. You might want to discuss what everyone thinks will happen at the Second Coming of Christ, and what are the signs of Christ's existance. Maybe someone can talk about their favorite Bible story or character. Maybe you can mention Bible passages that confuse you, and see if others have ideas on what the verse may mean. God bless!
  7. I have somewhat of a problem with the "one true church of God" statement that many people use in their testimonies. I mean, I understand the sentiment, and the scriptural references. But I just wish it was more embraced the good works of other religions.
  8. What happens to a person who lies to get a temple recommend? What do you personally believe? What answers can I find in the scriptures? I have never had the temptation. But I know others have. I wonder what percentage of temple goers have lied to get there.
  9. Welcome, Cookie. The Forums are a great place to share your thoughts. There's many discussions worth being a part of, and some that you'll wish you hadn't.
  10. It is an illusion to think that Satan has been keeping track of us since our beginnings. I also don't think he is privy to the inner workings of our spirits. That would in some way give more, or at least just as much, power to Satan as to God. And Satan cares not a bit about anyone.
  11. That is great that your testimony has grown so much. I know how hard times in life can take an attack on the testimony of some people. Are you an LDS convert, or raised in the church? What scriptures are you studying in Relief Society, Sunday School?
  12. How about HUG, CHEER, SNORE, HUH?, or GOODNIGHT.
  13. I think he could make it look good.
  14. I've been to wards in Texas and California in my lifetime, and the brethren have never gone for the dark suits any more often than the lighter colors. I don't know if it's regional choices due to fashion, weather, or whatever the reason.
  15. Yes, you are right, I am familiar with that. I had just about forgotten. The point is that I have heard practically no church acknowledge it. At least, I've heard more than one religion say Adam was the first given authority. In seperate studies, way back when, I read otherwise.
  16. The Priesthood has been handed down to worthy men ever since Adam, and I've read, since even before that. The only thing that women have had that long is motherhood and marriage. And those don't have the requirement to be worthy before you perform their duties.
  17. I'm going to stick out my neck and say that if women were were given the Priesthood, I'd do my best to fulfill my duties with that blessing. No matter how busy my schedule was. It's important that your wife does NOT begin to think the LDS leaders are sexist.
  18. Hi there. Journaling is one of my favorite things to do. Even if I'm not much of a writer. Welcome to LDS.net.
  19. Thanks every body for the welcomes.
  20. Jinkies! Or is that yoiks!?
  21. Hmmm...I think it was Fearless Leader???
  22. Well, my husband does not share my church beliefs. But he says he keeps an open mind and won't all together rule out the possibility of a baptism and temple marriage.
  23. I was doin' my best Paula Deen accent. Us girls are both Southern. And I have my own cooking show...with an audience of 3...hubby and the boys.
  24. I was born and raised LDS. I've had my share of ups and downs as a member, but I really have a firm testimony. One regret, not being able to have a temple marriage.
