When I lived in the D.C area going to a singles ward was worse than a meat market. The ratio was around 5 girls for every guy. the majority of the ward was congressional interns, staffers and students. As a young marine they may have liked what they saw, but quickly lost interest when they found out what I made. I ditched out after a year and was immensely happy and welcomed by a nice ward in my area. Keep your faith and go where the spirit leads you. No one can tell you where to go except God. Endorphins, when you smile your body releases them, causing your to experience a "high". Boy meets girl, girl makes boy smile, its a natural attraction. I love meeting new people who make me smile, I have never done drugs or support those who you them, but i am a sucker for that natural high of smiling. Pretty women help. S T Fin

As are most of the books that she writes this one was hard to put down. I can't wait to see what she does with "freaky fred". I always feel like a goof buying her books, probably not your usual twilight fan. But it was an easy read and would encourage anyone trying to get the younger generation started on books to use any of Stephanie Meyers books.

Lust versus Attraction. Attraction to Lust. I think for me one of my biggest problems has always been finding that point where control is in place. Modesty is sexy. I think there is nothing sexier than a classy well dressed woman who is attractive. Wierd attractions beside, it is morethose constantly changing realtionships between people that can decide where modesty or the lack of it, turns a situation from one with an attraction or mutual attraction into one dominated by lust. Modesty does not mean boring or unattractive, and those woman who embrace it are ladies. Society has many accepted standards. When I first joined the Marine Corps I weighed in a 220 lbs (15 stones 7 lbs), They told me I was fat. I am six foot tall. Then when I left the Marine Corps I wieged 225 lbs. I was in great shape. I now weigh 240 some people would call me fat. I say who cares. I am extremly active, i walk or run almost every day. I have the confidance to flirt with any woman I want to (mostly succesful). You sound unhappy. Instead of thinking what It will take to make men want to date you more, worry on what will make you happy. Skinny, fat, and everything in between. Men like happy women. A woman is always more attractive with a smile on her face and inner confidance. Try this approach with a stranger. If you can be outgoing and friendly, then at worst you have just wasted five minutes with someone you will never meet again. At best, you have just found your "one and only". I think your cute. The last time I was at a singles ward (six years ago) the ratio was 7-1 sisters to brothers. It felt like a meat market. Being recently divorced and now almost 30 I shudder to think what re-entering the dating scene is going to be like. As a father of two beautiful children I know its a must. Good luck my brothers.

All very good advice from lots of people. Before you seek help, help yourself. Sit down and ask your wife what she finds attractive in you. I have always found that there is an attractive quality to people when they are attracted to you. Build on that. Ultimately grow up a little. I have some of your problems, Sex, Addiction, i do not use drugs. First you have to break down. If you cannot see yourself putting your life in Gods hands then you have not broken down. I have two tattoos. I regret getting them more than I can express with meer words. I remember being told in primary, that my body was a temple. I am 29 now. If our bodies are temples, do they need to be painted, propped up or fixed? just asking.

The great thing I have learned as I struggle to re-build my testimony is that the Mormon church is one of the most forgiving places you could ever go to. I have tattoos, accepted. I owned a bar, was encouraged not to, but they still did not turn on me. Stop into a ward and introduce yourself to people. I hope they are warm welcoming, and loving. S t Fin
