Wait, I am not trying to be crude but are you saying that he masturbated? If that is the case they definitely won't disfellowship him but quite possibly and most likely take his recommend away.

So I will be entering the Temple to receive my endowments and have a couple of questions. So far any divinity I have felt in my life has come from the promptings of the Spirit. I suppose it all comes from here but I never have really experience a direct command or a very specific idea or direct suggestion from the Spirit. I believe the Holy Ghost communicates differently to people depending on their Spirit and character. Usually my promptings come in the form of me pondering and making sense of things and then the Spirit will validate my thoughts. Other promptings, which are less, usually come from listening to someone, usually a general authority, Apostle or the Prophet, and then realizing something that I never have before. But again I have never had a direct command, please don't be troubled with my wordage, or a vision or dream. Actually, I think I may have had one dream before but it has to do more with nature than gospel doctrine. Anyways, I wanted to know does the Lord reveal more to you in different ways after attending the temple. I am not looking for personal stories but would appreciate any. Did the way revelation come increase or change or remain the same. Thanks in advance.

Bank Bailouts, what does the term mean to you?
AGStacker replied to BenRaines's topic in General Discussion
But the underlying problem has not been fixed. The banks were essentially in a bubble just like the tech stocks but the government intervened. Expect more bank failures, big named banks because 100s have been failing since 09, in the near future. I am of the opinion that one of the greatest economic crisis will occur within 1-2 years. -
I feel greatly edified reading this particular thread. I am trying to hold back my tears as I know that all of God's children are loved by Him. Let me share with you a parable. Matthew 20 1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. 2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. 5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? 7 They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. 8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. 9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. 11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, 12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. 13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? 14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? 16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

I am sorry for this. This is a consequence of her sins that she is unhappy even if you weren't the best husband or a great one at all. She can't blame you for her sins. Also, someone entering the temple as an adulterer will leave darkness instead of light. When Christ cleanses America it will start with His people who defiled His sacred laws and ordinances by entering or continuing to attend the temple unworthily. Fast and pray and plead for forgiveness, mercy and strength to bear these hard times. Good luck to you.

Relations Before Marriage to a Different Man
AGStacker replied to little_dog's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
Yes the bishop needs to know that you had sex before entering the Temple. It sounds as if your fiance doesn't know about you having sex either. Is this correct? You don't want to go into the Temple or a marriage feeling doubtful or guilty. Being nervous or anxious should be normal feelings but I think you would feel better if your bishop and fiance know. Some sins can be discussed with the Lord without the bishop and then some must be discussed with the bishop.- 14 replies

Please list good reading, scriptures or books, for preparing to enter the Temple. Thanks.

Vort - This here , "there is a reason the Church is called the "kingdom" of God and not the "representative democracy" of God", is key. Christ's kingdom and the government will be two separate entities when He returns to reign.

The only thing?

To add my voice here, as I know probably many will disagree, I think government has grown to such heights with mostly wicked men that people become confused about whom to listen to. Should I listen to the council of the Prophet or my government leaders? I find many within the Church, who are strong members, thoroughly confused and downright wrong when it comes to what a Constitutional government really is. When this confusion exists, and the world grows more wicked, more people will question their faith and leave the Church. I'm sorry to mention politics as I know how taboo it is on this forum. I wish the site creators were more open to discussing these things. Satan will do all in his power to mimic Father and Christ's plan. He wants a world government with himself as king. I do become baffled by the faithlessness of many members. Official doctrine is 100% pure. What an Apostle or general authority says outside of conference or the Ensign can merely be his opinion. Most are not foolish enough to say controversial things because the position they hold carries a great responsibility. The people are always watching them and interpreting their counsel. What isn't doctrine and what comes from the mouths of high profile members is definitely up for debate and can be disagreed with. A testimony has to be nurtured continuously.

Wife wants Divorce, I want Reconciliation
AGStacker replied to ManChild's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
I disagree with JudoMinja that your wife had an affair. It certainly is foolish thinking on her part and she can certainly stop herself from making a worse decision. The fact that you cheated on her will exacerbate the problem and probably will make her choice to leave much easier. I feel that the time to have become active was in the beginning when you had the proper chance to. That's not to say things can't be fixed. The atonement can heal ALL wounds. I have never been married but have been in a semi long relationship and noticed when this individual, whom I loved, was done she meant it. I feel women decide this months before they actually leave. I believe they will even confess their love to you when not knowing what they actually believe and then out of nowhere they are done. Like we've been counseled, a good marriage needs constant nurture like a garden. I think the single best thing you can do is forsake all your sins, plead with God for mercy and forgiveness, seek the Bishop's counsel and fast and pray to God for a chance to reconcile with your wife. Also, I watched my parents go through a horrible divorce which broke my father's heart. He definitely was at fault in many areas and was too stubborn to change. I suppose he felt like my mom would never leave him. He still has sorrow to this day seven years later. It causes me a lot of pain yet I recognize that my father's upbringing was far removed from the typical Latter-day Saint. He grew up without his real father, because his mother left him, and was abused by a step father who he still loved. But here is my point about my father, after the divorce he chose a dark path mainly out of loneliness and sadness. It has ruined him financially. He is now only starting to see the light and is coming around. During this time he never denied the truthfulness of the Church and I've never known someone personally to serve others more than him. Life can be hard and situations like these can make it way harder. My advice is to NOT rebel but to humble yourself and rely completely on the Lord. Harder said than done but I can guarantee the pain will be less severe and linger less. Best of luck to you. -
Coming to terms with the Book of Abraham
AGStacker replied to DKM88's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Don't believe EVERYTHING science says would be my answer. I doubt that anyone person can totally interpret ancient Egyptian. Many of the brightest minds have been incorrect in many things. Hawking recently said that we no longer need God in science. The Big Bang theory is a load of garbage. They even admit that there are many parts of the story that are left blank and that "we can't explain this part". Science has a lot of A,B,C and no L,M,N,O,P. I didn't evolve from cro-magnum man. If you have doubts but still believe in God, look how the rest of Christianity teaches the Bible. It is honestly horrible how they interpret it. Joseph Smith interpreted and explained the Bible better than any man. His words make sense and "taste good". Know that Satan is active and uses man to be deceptive. The Church offers you so much. What does the world have to offer you? -

What I believe is that he infiltrates governments and then corrupts men with power and women, or men, mainly. Then as his power grows within government he uses government to enslave the people politically and financially. I am a big believer that this is what he is currently doing right now with America. Mainly very wealthy elite have even admitted to this indirectly. They didn't outright say "Satan..." but they seek world dominion. Rockefellers and Rothschilds come to mind. For Satan to have world dominion he will have to take out America. America is his largest deterrent. He will ultimately fail but not without taking the lives and souls of many, many people. Satan appears and instructs men just like God does through servants. -

They were never promised the priesthood. The priesthood was only promised to Abraham's seed. See, it's so simple you don't understand it.

You'll see Snow. Our debt is unsustainable. Mathematically we are done for. When the Fed buys up US bonds, haha, the end for the empire is near. They already had QE2 and QE3 will most likely be announced, indirectly?, this September at the FOMC meeting. No country can just print money without severely damaging the currency. Since the USD is the reserve currency and most currencies are pegged to it, their fate will be the same as ours. In 2008 we entered a depression. The government stimulated things like a drug user stimulates themselves with more drugs. The stimulus will die off. Gold is reaching record highs because of this fact. It would be well for you to invest all you can into silver. It will be one of the greatest investments of the decade.

Rouses, it is simple. A father, or mother, would love their children to become like them in every way. Granted they are good people. In fact, most parents would love for their children to be even better than they. This is the same with God. We will never take His place and He will always be our God but he wishes to give us everything that He has. The Bible clearly teaches a plurality of Godly beings.

A world depression is coming and will be far worse for the West as opposed to the East.

There is a lot we don't know about science. Their beliefs and findings are changing everyday. I just get upset when I believe they are using science to be deceptive i.e. evolution and big bang theory. I also do not believe at all that the center of the Earth is molten core. I actually believe it is a hollow. The Earth could operate perfectly fine being a hollow. I know mainstream scientists definitely disagree but the intellects mostly are wrong when it comes to things so complex as the human mind and the universe. Plus I believe I can prove that it is hollow through Bible and the earlier Apostles and Prophets. Either way, we are fairly "dumb" in relation to how God operates on all scales. There is an older prophecy that was in an Ensign that described how easily we will understand complex things such as chemistry. Time for bed.

How long do we have to wait
AGStacker replied to PeterGriffin's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
I doubt it would be a year. I say 6-10 months. Go to the bishop regularly and attend all of your meetings. He will see your sorrow and know you would have repented. The Church wouldn't impose a year of waiting for something like that because it already imposes a year wait if a couple gets married civilly first. Essentially there is nothing from stopping you to get married civilly if the penalty was a year. My fiance and I have never had sex but have made mistakes. We have the "OK" from one bishop for November which will be 5 months of clean living. The other one said that usually bishop's decisions end up in agreement. I for one am very excited to be married and so is my fiance. I wish she would just stop stressing me out though. :) -
Dude I didn't say he is damned! Holy cow are you actually reading my posts?! I said he is DAMNING himself just like when you or I sin it is damnation. A single person who never marries, yet can, is also damning themselves because a HUGE portion in life is to be married and sealed. If we are not in this life and make NO effort to do so there is a VERY good chance that we will remain single in the next life. Damnation is EVERYTHING except for the highest degree of the Celestial kingdom. You still are totally ignoring what I am actually saying. There is totally a difference between those who say "I AM GAY" and "I STRUGGLE WITH HOMOSEXUAL FEELINGS". If you can't decipher the two then please don't respond to this post.
