  1. Oh man beefche...bringing back the memories...popcorn, chili, basketball, Zionsville. I remember when our stake center was in Zionsville.
  2. I live in Copland. Seriously. My ward alone has 5 police officers and one corrections officer. A couple of mile circle from my house adds probably another 20-30 police officers and an unknown number of corrections officers.
  3. I watched Demolition Man again. Meh...it was not as good as I remembered.
  4. Many of those who argue gun control are afraid of them.
  5. Why would you want to harm Grumpy Cat? Eowyn: I've found some inappropriate ones too. I laughed and thought better of putting them here.
  6. Gallowwalkers. It was okay. I was hoping for the "zombie apocalypse" in the old west setting. A cursed gunman (Wesley Snipes) whose victims come back from the dead recruits a young warrior to help in the fight against a gang of zombies.

    Gun Safe

Fort Knox is my preference in a full size safe (Fort Knox). I also have push button safe, very similar to this one (Gardall Pistol Safe PS915E Electronic Lock - Gun Safes - Free Shipping) for my bedroom. The second is just to hold a pistol and reloads. I can't show which one I have as it is a discontinued model. I also use it when I travel so I can secure my handgun on trips. Our office has access to one of the bio-metric safe manufacturers at a discounted price. I plan on getting at least one, possibly two of thier smaller safes for handguns as well. I forget which company, but I think it is Barska. Security, ease of access, fireproof are the keys to buying a safe. You will get what you pay for, so if you go cheap, you have a cheap (= easily defeated) safe.
  8. I've worked quite a few holidays over the years. I've probably had about half the last 16 Christmas/Christmas Eve's off. Sometimes one, sometimes both. I've had 2 of the last 16 New Years Eve off (last year and the previous year), I've had Thanksgiving off for about 5 years now. Fortunately I seem to be the only one who likes Halloween off and have been able to get most of them off.
  9. Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 and Star Trek Into Darkness (gifts for the kids).
  10. Xanadu by Neil Peart. "To seek the sacred river Alph To walk the caves of ice To break my fast on honey dew And drink the milk of paradise..." I had heard the whispered tales Of immortality The deepest mystery From an ancient book. I took a clue I scaled the frozen mountain tops Of eastern lands unknown Time and Man alone Searching for the lost --- Xanadu Xanadu --- To stand within The Pleasure Dome Decreed by Kubla Khan To taste anew the fruits of life The last immortal man To find the sacred river Alph To walk the caves of ice Oh, I will dine on honey dew And drink the milks of Paradise A thousand years have come and gone But time has passed me by Stars stopped in the sky Frozen in an everlasting view Waiting for the world to end Weary of the night Praying for the light Prison of the lost --- Xanadu Xanadu --- Held within The Pleasure Dome Decreed by Kubla Khan To taste my bitter triumph As a mad immortal man Nevermore shall I return Escape these caves of ice For I have dined on honey dew And drunk the milk of Paradise Set to music:
  11. Centurion. Roman soldiers are trapped behind enemy lines after a brutal ambush decimates their legion. They must fight their way to freedom while hunted by a relentless warrior princess out for Roman blood. Very good movie. Graphic dark ages combat. A really good storyline.
  12. The Cabin In The Woods. Not where I expected a horror story to go, but I should have seen it coming with Joss Whedon's involvement. I liked the movie.
  13. I don't love violence, but I have used it, and will continue to use it, as necessary. People's actions dictate the response, and as in Quin's example, sometimes the only solution. Peaceful resolutions are the best, but not always possible. When they are not, then violence is usually the response.
  14. The Ward. I like John Carpenter movies. This was really good. Acclaimed director John Carpenter makes his long awaited return to the screen with a thriller about a young woman in a 1960s mental institution who becomes terrorized by malevolent unseen forces. Kristen, a beautiful but troubled young woman, finds herself bruised, cut, drugged with laughing gas. The other patients in the ward four equally disturbed young women offer no answers, and Kristen quickly realizes things are not as they seem. The air is heavy with secrets, and at night, when the hospital is dark and foreboding, she hears strange and frightening sounds. It appears they are not alone. One-by-one, the other girls begin to disappear and Kristen must find a way out of this hellish place before she, too, becomes a victim. As she struggles to escape, she will uncover a truth far more dangerous and horrifying than anyone could have imagined.
  15. I won't compromise on anything work related, anything electronic (stereos, tv's, dvd players etc.), anything preparedness related. BTW, if you like earbuds, the Sony earbuds at Best Buy are my preference. They only cost about $15 and have good sound quality.
  16. The Haunting In Conneticutt 2: Ghosts Of Georgia. Well done ghost story.
  17. The Haunting of Whaley House. There is some really really bad acting out there and it seems to be centered on the horror genre. I could only take it for about 5 minutes.
  18. Sheeshhh....nine pages gem2477 and I still don't know the answer.
  19. I should put this on the ledge outside to watch over Bob and his dog in my front yard. It would fit the motif.
