  1. Skalenfehl, your basically saying that Zion is still going to consist of a political government?
  2. In regards to that Eddy Izzard quote, Don't blame Heavenly Father (God) for a conduct that was brought upon by Hitlers own deeds. Hold Hitler accountable just like you would want any perpetuator in a court of law held responsible or accountable. This is to state how people can be ignorant and irrational which is in the scriptures. Things bad happens because people who have bad deeds will make it happen, vice versa. "Nostra Culpa!" means "Our Fault!" A poem by Margaret Sackville: God sent his Son into the world to teach us the light, Jesus Christ is that "Iron Rod" that we must hold onto in the mist of this chaos and confusion by men who are easily tempted by evil. Who on earth is equal? We as humans are unequal because we can't think harmoniously to do good works and good deeds. "He that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." I am so useless and hopeless without this gospel in my life, I truly have no meaning to live if I can't live for Heavenly Father. I inherited a spiritual gift and I am so joyed to let it shine so bright to help comfort those in need of comfort to cry with those who mourn and to be of good works and deeds to another. I'm grateful to Heavenly Father for blessing me with such wisdom to help and cherish others and myself.
  3. "To say man cannot ever be like God" Of course we cannot be like God in this temporal state that we're in, however, does that mean we should stop trying to be like him hoping and believing that we may become like him? Isn't our purpose in this temporal state to prove that we want to be with and like Heavenly Father? Gen. 3:22 ¶And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
  4. In my opinion people who don't believe in Heavenly Father are just as religious as those who do believe, the preachers are celebrities Bill Maher, Eddy Izzard, or some philosopher.
  5. May I state where is the "light" in this discussion? What is those who believe in Heavenly Father to learn from this? Are we suppose to question how matters came to be or are we to focus on the carnal understanding of men? Is this not what our Savior Jesus Christ died for? Didn't he proclaim Heavenly Father while living teaching us that we must fill ourselves with good thoughts, good deeds. Teaching us that we have the knowledge to know right from wrong and to "Choose the Right" so that we may be able to stand in Holy places. Do you think you would be capable of being in the presence of Heavenly Father when your purpose is to limit him? Everything that is done accordingly to the teachings of Jesus Christ examples and gospels has only strengthen my testimony and knowledge. And because it's based on my willingness to choose the right that I am able to be blessed, I have no excuse to not serve the lord because everything else that is not of the gospel lead me into afflictions. Once again, where is the "Light" in this discussion? When I express my belief in God the almighty to someone who chooses to limit him. I cannot prove to you with evidence because faith has been the key. D&C 93:39 39 And that wicked one cometh and taketh away light and truth, through disobedience, from the children of men, and because of the tradition of their fathers.
  6. Yes, US political policy is indeed vital importance to the Church, but what happens when that same US political policy is compromised? What happens when the political policy in regards to freedom of religion is reformed limiting the peoples freedom in their faith? The adversary has the US politics all up in a mambo number 5 dance and it's up to "We the people" the democracy to find a common solution. Why is there a far left and a far right? I thought equal is in the middle... I'm glad the Church is neutral in political matters because that's equal, the church cannot support a system that cannot support "We the people". Zion is evolution! Prepare yourselves to stand valiant and live unitedly in righteousness.
  7. Politics has no place for people of Faith, if members in church are stating opinions then remind them that this is church not a political affair meeting. I'm just going to have to say that liberals are exactly those people who walk away from church because the lack of their faith. We are taught to believe in Jesus Christ above all laws, and politics is one by one deteriorating the very intricate thread of religion. I'm proud to be a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of These Latter-day Saints because I choose to be loyal to my faith in Heavenly Father before a government made by men to rule over men that will diminish by men. A gospel inspired through faith, administered by faith, shall prosper in faith. That same faith will inspire "Zion" and unity in one mind and understanding of righteousness. Those who twist things psychologically and manipulate transient causes into a countries very constitution that was built to safeguard our freedom are unequal. What's more important Education to stimulate minds to create solutions or Sexual Preference Rights? Our politics has become such a social fad that the problem is "We The People". We are suppose to govern our government, but due to the lack of education "Dumbing down America" nobody wanted become problem solvers in the political area, hence why many think the government is illuminati's. Our votes should have supported education and not money making scheme measures, the more I think of politics the more I am encouraged prepare myself to stand in holy places. Politics is like a re-run of "I love lucy" Lucy (the government) thinking of lies to tell Ricardo (the people) just to hear him say "Oh Lucy, no you don't". lol. Anyways, be strong in thy faith because politics doesn't make people spiritually strong the gospel of Jesus Christ does.
  8. It all narrows down to whose going to bring up that child in light and truth if they are not receiving it at home? My father was locked up when I was 10, my brother whom older than me by two years always yearned for a father figure. The church was a blessing for our family because they offered stewardship in offering to pick us up for church, helping my mother with family issues. We are limiting the authority of the church when we rationalize and say we don't need their help. That's like this verse I've read in the 2 Nephi 28:30: 30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have. We are rejecting the love and compassion of the gospel to bless us in our lives with understanding the teachings to speak with kindness and showing humility in doing wrong by changing to do right. Why do we measure wrong doings when wrong doings is just bad? There is no one wrong doing worse than another, when entirely it's just wrong. Hope I didn't confuse anyone, I'm just saying that if a boy is calling a girl names and he is a member of the church and the parents do not raise him in the light of the church that he should be sincerely chastened. I've had times where I've questioned the authority of the church, but it has only made me bitter and not understanding that to grow spiritually I must be humble. I must trust that Heavenly Father is guiding the Bishop, teachers, missionaries in their duties to help me grow closer to him.
  9. Honestly, I never heard of Bertold Brecht until I googled "Du brauchst Gott" and my results provided the exerpt from "Mr. Keuner". Thankfully there was an english translated version and when I read it, I couldn't resist not sharing it. Heavenly Father is linked to us when we seek him and want to help others seek him as well. I found familiarity emotionally and spiritually to this excerpt, and I know it's I need a Heavenly Father (God) but more I need Heavenly Father (God). What appealed to me about this excerpt was Mr. K's expression "I advise you to consider whether, depending on the answer, your behavior would change. If it would not change, then we can drop the question. If it would change, then I can at least be of help to the extent that I can say, you have already decided: you need a God." This expression to me is enlightening that Heavenly Fathers existence is to change mankind. Change what? Behaviors, deeds, thoughts, living righteously. The answer to this question is a dilemma, a dilemma many face and which some are capable of understanding while others choose not to want to understand. This dilemma is in rephrasement of William Shakespeare's "To believe or not to believe in Heavenly Father". Heavenly Father offers so much compassion, yet he also has a strict rule which requires discipline and exceptional organizational skills. Why not have to learn line upon line and heed to his commandments that only bears blessings. Why does God seem to look away and let it happen or why do mankind seem to look away and let it happen? We are given knowledge, wisdom, principles to raise families to live righteously building our homes on a rock being the gospel of Jesus Christ. We must secure our families not only with the spiritual armors but also the armor to protect themselves when in danger and confidence to be spiritually strong in morals.
  10. God created the plan of salvation for men, a song that I loved singing in primary that summarizes it: Mosiah 5:15 15 Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen.
  11. This is a hypothetical situation yet very possible but shouldn't censure the role of the Bishop. Although the daughter told her father whom is a Bishop, the Bishop can administer the gospel accordingly to teach the boy to try and be christlike in deeds and in thoughts. Knowing that the Bishop asked the boy into a meeting then it's safe to assume this boy is a member this boy would need some counsel: Also.... It's very necessary for Bishop's to do this so members can be in line with the gospel and progress spiritually. LDS Church News - Bishop's duties outlined at training meeting
  12. What is being created? How do you create intelligence? Is intelligence created or inherited? The teachings of this gospel is inherited in the scriptures not created, this is the light of Truth these testamonies are our inheritence from many years to give light and intelligence. Can you imagine many who've built their homes upon this foundation just to be told that it's false and not real. Yet everything that is brought about in these scriptures is a testament of humanities issues of being disobedient and unfaithful. Now we are living in a time where there is faithful and those obedient, yet some are still living in iniquity claiming to be pure in heart but still reject the poor in the things that they do. Wealth is a man made perception of living the life, intelligence is the inheritance which we can simply realize that we can live as spiritual beings not for the worldly things. Heavenly Father see's that we create our own limits by setting up trends from money, designs, and even education. Why do we do this to ourselves? Why do we allow ourselves to think of superiority from intellects to ideas? Why is technology full of abundant resources information yet, for a scholar you must possess a degree? Zion is about living in unity not in separation of wealth and poverty. Zion is about living to help others and not to focus on ourselves. Zion is about helping raise up children with God given rights to learn and live in righteousness. Zion is about encouraging many to be worthy and holy to dwell in the presence of Heavenly Father. It is to my total understanding that mankind is limiting God, for he had no limits in the beginning but when the fruit of knowing right from wrong was eaten did mankind become exposed and skillful in building ideas bad or good. D&C 93:29 29 Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be. Prov. 8:23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. Abr. 3:18 Howbeit that he made the greater star; as, also, if there be two spirits, and one shall be more intelligent than the other, yet these two spirits, notwithstanding one is more intelligent than the other, have no beginning; they existed before, they shall have no end, they shall exist after, for they are gnolaum, or eternal. Jer. 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee Isa. 55:8 ¶For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. Ps. 74:16 thou hast prepared the light and the sun
  13. Oh technology is such a temptation to distract whether texting, talking on the phone, and ipads for GPS various things. My mother got hit by a SUV when she was driving in her Pontiac Caravan and the person driving the SUV was on her cell phone talking. I admit that I've texted while driving, but the more I'm in tune to choose the right the more I am reminded to pull over if I need to GPS/text/talk. I try to remind those I'm with the same thing too, it's not worth it pretty soon it's going to be tickets for "DUDT's" Driving Under the Distraction of Technology. On the news a couple of months back a technology business was talking about selling ipad holders for vehicles, but the county and state are making it illegal to have a monitor whether an ipad or gps be mantled on top of the decks in vehicles. Vehicles I've seen almost look like the Star trek enterprise command decks....lol, I don't think that's necessary.
  14. This is interesting and enlightening because I have experienced times where I felt Heavenly Father (God) was not with me not because he didn't want to be but because I chose not to allow him to be. Heavenly Father (God) is the essence of righteousness and good, he can only exist if we believe and follow in his son Jesus Christ and if in doubt will make him inexistent for individuals who choose not be believers or followers of his begotten son. Isn't our spirit a speculation beyond life's comprehensions? We are "Intelligent" not because it was created but because it is our inheritance from our Heavenly Father. So, when it becomes apparent to individuals to ask "Why" in nature of things pertaining to others or environments than their own. I would think that the question is "Why" indirectly to one. I've been in a circumstance where I asked why was I abused and why was I born into a family that was corrupted. Why were all these bad things happening to me at a very young age? These are questions that I've felt obligated to find out, and when I found out I was hurt and angry. I had no one to trust in; I had no one to give me hope and inspiration to be of good nature. I started realizing that I was miserable because I chose to do bad things to reconcile for happiness that didn't exist in the first place. My family was a masquerade of happiness, I was thinking we were one big happy family but confused at the bad things that were happening. After all these circumstances and incidents I find myself needing Heavenly Father (God) not temporarily but I seek inevitably for him because he is true and divine happiness. And through Jesus Christ, the one and only begotten son, I will be able to become holy and worthy depending on my good works, deeds, and thoughts that correlate to the teachings and gospel. Life is not a dream but a reality that we can choose to live freely at our own risk or at our own gain. As much as Heavenly father is real so is the adversary, the adversary is bound to tempt us because he wants to rule over us. What a blessing to be able to know such things so plain, so evident right or wrong, good or bad. As human nature we are prone to make mistakes but are we willing and capable of changing them for the better cause of our own salvation? To choose Heavenly Father is to choose to live freely to choose the adversary is to choose to be bound by Satan. The gospel can only enlighten and strengthen our intelligence for the greater goodness and pureness of our hearts allowing us to unite and live in righteousness. To blame Heavenly Father (God) for things that are happening means we as problem creators shouldn't be equitable and accountable to solve such problems. IMO Thanks for your post.
  15. D&C 93:36 The glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth. Abr. 3:19 And the Lord said unto me: These two facts do exist, that there are two spirits, one being more intelligent than the other; there shall be another more intelligent than they; I am the Lord thy God, I am more intelligent than they all. As confusing as this is when reading, this is to testify that we have a conscience we possess the ability to think like heavenly father and act accordingly. We must wield the good faith of the spirit of ligth or diminish in doubt of the darkness to the despair of our spirit. It becomes clearer that when we study the scriptures we are enlightened with purpose and meaning in our individual lives to help nurture each other in the gospel, live with the "Pureness in our hearts" so that we may be worthy to stand in holy places and be with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father.
  16. I haven't connected with anyone on facebook, my facebook is mainly family members.
  17. Being that this is based on a hypothetical situation, understanding the role of Bishops is plain and simple that whatever is to be communicated with Bishop and members is in "Good Faith".
  18. Malolelei welcome to the site! :)
  19. Adversity exists for individuals who cannot spiritually understand "THE PURE IN HEART". When an individual becomes accustomed to doing good works and deeds, that individual does good things from the pureness of their heart. I believe that adversity will be separated from "Zion", because those who cannot do things without seeking something in return will not be in tuned with Heavenly Fathers law. For example tithing is a request amongst members rich or poor, but the fact that those who pay regardless of their financial standings in the monetary system statistics will come together in "Zion" in common faith and principles. In "Zion" we will be able to live in unity with the understanding of doing well amongst each other and living in righteousness. "Zion" is against wickedness, if Heavenly Father is saying that we must repent than we should sin no more and commit to it. We face that exact circumstance now more than ever, people are diluting the plan of salvation with rationalizing, wresting the scriptures, and doubt. Those who have been blessed with the gospel and the spirit will understand each other on a spiritual level with Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ in the center. I like this statement from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland: I seek for the day when I can live in Zion with my fellow brothers and sisters, helping each other stay in tuned and closer with the gospel so that we may be worthy to stand in holy places for our father thy Savior Jesus Christ to proclaim us as his faithful children. I know some may think of me as a silly individual who is possessed with mysticism and a skeptical belief. I only know Heavenly Father to be the one to keep me sane, civil, spiritual, and strong because I sought for him in prayer, scriptures, and in the things I do. I don't know anything that can offer me such spiritual enlightenment or even remedy my afflictions but Heavenly Father and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love helping in my community, I have so much spirit to do things when I am doing good or living in the light of righteousness. I've already experienced the route of unrighteousness and haven't felt a pure happiness but a temporal happiness, happiness is not gained by doing bad things or continuing in wickedness (this route only made me miserable) it's gained through sacrifice and love. I like this statement from the "Declaration Of Independence”: This is just like the concept of repentance, that mankind is more disposed to suffer in their iniquities because wickedness is sufferable, than to right themselves by repenting and choosing to live in a covenant to our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ for righteousness. D&C 97:21 21. Therefore, verily, thus saith the Lord, let Zion rejoice, for this is Zion—the pure in heart; therefore, let Zion rejoice, while all the wicked shall mourn. Moses 7: 18-19 18 And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them. 19 And Enoch continued his preaching in righteousness unto the people of God. And it came to pass in his days, that he built a city that was called the City of Holiness, even Zion.
  20. Scenario 1: The babies are sealed to the family that they are sealed to, we are all spiritual childrens of Heavenly Father. The babies faith good works and deeds will prove which kingdom they will inherit. Scenario 2: I would think is in accordance to when the non-lds become converted and sealed. What a interesting dream, however, there is baptism for the dead if this was a circumstance that was from the past. Heavenly Father provides a way for all his children that hearken and seeks him.
  21. Lds2, you are filled with so much care and I am so grateful for your spirit in such concerns. It's inevitable with the monetary system because that was man made system that distributes wealth amongst people. As it was created from men it shall perish....I fear nothing that is not of creation of our heavenly father, because our heavenly father enlightened us with knowledge in preparing ourselves. However, preparing is not necessarily just storage food but sewing, cooking, farming, building shelter. I was blessed while in my youth to go on the Young Womens camp and during that camp I've learned so much as far as surviving in the wilderness. :) I never felt more closer with our Heavenly Father than experiencing being away from electronics and worldy things of such sorts. As we become accustomed to man-made creations and innovations we become dependent on such things. This gospel teaches us to do for ourselves what we shouldn't expect others to. In mutual we did a lot of cooking, sewing, quilting, crocheting, their is the boys scouts. All of these things taught in my youth became self-evident that preparation is the key for ourselves, extended family and friends to benefit. The world may become dependent on the monetary system or man-made of such devices, only a few will live in unity to help each other thrive in righteousness. The news hasn't told me anything new of what I've read in the scriptures.
  22. Tithing?a Commandment Even for the Destitute - general-conference The goal is giving :)
  23. I don't think anyone has relied too much on our Heavenly Father, as much as we put our trust in him we will be able to make decisions accordingly to his teachings and gospels. I think it's necesarry that we rely he's omnipresent, and as we live our life in line with him he will continue to help and comfort. Trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ examples can only strengthen our faith to become better individuals with qualities that is conveyed through our everyday lives. We live in a very very corrupted time and to think of how the scriptures talk of the iniquities back than we still face to this day. The scriptures shares parables and many excerpts that reminds those who are tentative that history is repeating itself in a cycle. Evolution was since the day Adam and Eve bit the fruit of mortality and life. We as individuals are destined to make choices in regards to our heavenly fathers teachings or in regards to unbelief and apostasy. If we seek change that would be to perfecting ourselves in righteousness. We're already accustomed to the adversary as sad as it is, however, those who seek after righeousness have found the true meaning of evolution. Doubt is real in all things that we come about in life, we see doubt in many who are in politics, schools, communities, and ourselves. Doubt is what the adversary flourishes in, however, hope is what the adversary blinds many from. Hope is a key benefactor to living we hope to live in a christlike manner so that our children can grow with a firm foundation in the gospel. I believe that anyone who has grown spiritually in line with the Holy Spirit and gospel are able to reap the works of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Article Of Faith: 13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things. Prayer is as reliable as our faith, hope, and love for our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ.
  24. Scriptures are meant to interpret as individuals for spiritual upliftment and to build familiar experiential testimonies. The scriptures consist of every subject or topic that's very relevant to us today as it were the days of old. I find it "Ironic" that the scriptures explains exactly what some are doing today even in this very forum, inquire through prayer with Heavenly Father in faith. It's a wonderful knowledge to know that we are given teachings and lessons that can strengthen homes. We must build a solid foundation in Jesus Christ, and it starts with ourselves. First we must teach in our own homes the gospel of Jesus Christ and exemplify to our children his love and grace. We must love thy neighbors regardless of behaviors and choices that we may not agree with. We as members shall live by examples of doing good services, I love how we send missionaries to share with the world a testimony of trust and faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. That if these people baptize they will receive the full restoration of the Gospel the power of the Holy Ghost through the ordained ministers of the church of Jesus Christ. This teaching has gone beyond bias, I think it challenges people of social institutes of their foundations, because some social institutes are built on bias itself. It doesn't matter what race, creed, gender we are as long as we trust in Heavenly Father will our trials and tribulations bear peace and ability to have the will to do good things for others. We should live in humility and unity, chasten oursleves through the atonement of Christ for the plan of salvation (Heavenly Father's Plan). This and only this could be achieved by our own individual choice, desire, and faith. I must conclude that truth is in the scriptures seek it out for yourselves, and see whether this church is a church for you...you don't have to take my word for it.
