  1. First and foremost I want to thank heavenly father for blessing me with this site. I'm thankful for the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the spirit of the holy ghost to abide with me. I'm a very energetic loving individual that has been blessed by the church throughout my life, the teachings has been embedded since my adolescent years. I grew up with major family trials and tribulations that I can attest that this church is the true church. I'm able to withstand obstacles through the gospel and hold accountability for what I've done wrong and forgive those who've done wrong towards me. This church has helped me to be in tuned spiritually and utilize our saviors atonement so that we may progress and change for the happiness we seek eternally. I admire the strict principles because although I may not fully gain it in my lifetime, the fact that I desire for perfection and to be with heavenly father I know that through this gospel I can succeed. I just am very blessed and grateful, I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
  2. If you have an Aux input on your Alpine Car radio and a usb mp3 you'll be able to connect with a 3' 3.5 mm Stereo Audio Cable. If you have the cassette you can get the cassette to mp3 adapter, they have MP3 usb's in walgreens, walmart, and some grocery stores. Good Luck :)
  3. Welcome!! It's always a pleasure to meet non-members it's almost like greeting a new born but not a baby.LOL.... I'm excited to read your discussions as you prepare. Best wishes and enjoy this website, it's really awesome. :)
  4. LOL, I know I haven't introduced myself yet...I wasn't able to until now. And I've already participated in lots of discussions. Welcome!!
  5. I apologize Hala401, I was not considerate of your circumstances and I didn't show sincerity in my responses. I sense that you are holding on to a lot of resentment and dwelling on somethings in the past. I hope and pray that you will be able to overcome and turn to heavenly father and our savior to help you heal. It's very important that we rid ourselves of our past that reminds us of pain and sorrow. And to fill ourselves with enlightenment that our savior Jesus Christ has enriched us with through his examples. He carried our burdens so that we may learn to drop bad stones in a river and create new stones that will help us step forward towards our heavenly father. You are loved and hope you have a blessed week. :)
  6. Alexis, Thanks for seeking amongst us for guidance and counsel. You are not the only one who will be asking for help trust, imagine all the counsel that heavenly father is asked for from us. I truly admire your faith inquiring and we all have times where we forget that's why we got the gospel and each other to remind ourselves. Heavenly father always provideths a way when we seek in faith. Take care and thrive to live the gospel in your daily life. Sincerely, Sisilia
  7. Hermaphrodites are totally different from gay's and lesbian's. Hermaphrodites are "Born this way" physically which shouldn't justify or support gay and lesbian and even Bi's agendas. Media is corrupted, it would actually be nice to have news coverage done by "The Church Jesus Christ Of These Latter-days" what major uplifting and spiritual difference many would have in there lives. Media, the entertainment system, and everything to do with hollywood has been exploited to the masses for immoral quality and less moral values. I don't like to involve myself in reading magazines and trendy things socially. And low and behold the state that I live in "California" promotes all those insignificant desires, and wants but don't necessarily need behaviors and ways. I was watching the ABC article with my daughter and she said "Mom why is that man dressed like a lady?" I asked her, "Why do you think that is a man and not a lady?". She said "Because he sounds like a man and looks like a man wearing a ladies clothes and a wig." Now am I suppose to condemn my daughter for seeing a person as is physically and tell her no you are wrong that is a lady. This is where the state has to draw a line on confusing the children. Children are innocent when born into the world, living in the bay area East Oakland across San Francisco you would think we are exposed. Little do you know that the percentage of Homosexuals are higher in San Francisco an expensive cost living area than in East Oakland. Many of the communities in east oakland consist of poor families of different ethnicity. The education system is trying to change for some social agendas. Imagine having to confuse children even more by teaching them homosexual education. Dumbing down America has been in effect since Reagan opened the door to corrupt America. I'm trying to find political campaigns that involve promoting education, family rights, moral politics. If any of you know of any I will be happy to learn of them. I have nothing wrong with homosexuals, but when they have pride and exploit there inclinations of desires and immoral behaviors I do oppose. They are opening the door to corrupt inoccent childrens to such behaviors.
  8. I'm a member of the church of Jesus Christ Of These Latter-days, I use to question on whether Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I'm a tongan (Island Girl) and I was resistant to believe so because I'm not white...(honestly that use to be my key motive to not believe in the church). Gratefully, my parents had a spiritual knowledge which I had to build during my youth in primary. I am now 27 years of age, although I am not perfect as I wish to be, the church always provides a way just like our father in heaven does. Just because one gets excommunicated doesn't mean for that one person to take for granted our saviors atonement. That's why we exercise our faith in our heavenly father and Jesus Christ through our holy ghost "spirit". The further we are from heavenly fathers laws and principles (Jesus Christ examples) the further our holy ghost spirit departs from him. It's kind of like common sense, how can you believe in heavenly father (God) but not believe in his only begotten son? Hence, why our church is the only church that represent Jesus Christ for these Latter-days. Heavenly father doesn't want us to question him but to seek him. It's our willingness and devotion to want to be with him, it's obvious he wants us but do we want him?
  9. Supporting Statements A. Conditions in the Garden of Eden were different from those of mortality. ■ “Adam had a spiritual body until mortality came upon him through the violation of the law under which he was living, but he also had a physical body of flesh and bones. “. . . Now what is a spiritual body? It is one that is quickened by spirit and not by blood. . . . “. . . When Adam was in the Garden of Eden, he was not subject to death. There was no blood in his body and he could have remained there forever. This is true of all the other creations” (Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, 1:76–77). ■ “He [Adam] had knowledge, of course. He could speak. He could converse. There were many things he could be taught and was taught; but under the conditions in which he was living at that time it was impossible for him to visualize or understand the power of good and evil. He did not know what pain was. He did not know what sorrow was; and a thousand other things that have come to us in this life that Adam did not know in the Garden of Eden and could not understand and would not have known had he remained there” (Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, 1:107–8). B. Adam and Eve brought about the Fall by their own choice. ■ “I’m very, very grateful that in the Book of Mormon, and I think elsewhere in our scriptures, the fall of Adam has not been called a sin. It wasn’t a sin. . . . What did Adam do? The very thing the Lord wanted him to do; and I hate to hear anybody call it a sin, for it wasn’t a sin. Did Adam sin when he partook of the forbidden fruit? I say to you, no, he did not! Now, let me refer to what was written in the book of Moses in regard to the command God gave to Adam. [ Moses 3:16–17 .] “Now this is the way I interpret that: The Lord said to Adam, here is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you want to stay here, then you cannot eat of that fruit. If you want to stay here, then I forbid you to eat it. But you may act for yourself, and you may eat of it if you want to. And if you eat it, you will die. “I see a great difference between transgressing the law and committing a sin” (Joseph Fielding Smith, “Fall—Atonement—Resurrection—Sacrament,” in Charge to Religious Educators, 124). ■ “The devil in tempting Eve told a truth when he said unto her that when she should eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil they should become as Gods. He told the truth in telling that, but he accompanied it with a lie as he always does. He never tells the complete truth. He said that they should not die. The Father had said that they should die. The devil had to tell a lie in order to accomplish his purposes; but there was some truth in his statement. Their eyes were opened. They had a knowledge of good and evil just as the Gods have” (George Q. Cannon, Gospel Truth, 1:16). ■ “Adam and Eve were chosen to come here as the primal parents of humanity. And they were placed in the Garden of Eden where there was no death and we read in the scriptures that they could have lived in that Garden forever, but not under the most favorable circumstances. For there, although they were in the presence of God, they were deprived of certain knowledge and understanding in a condition where they could not understand clearly things that were necessary for them to know. Therefore, it became essential to their salvation and to ours that their nature should be changed. The only way it could be changed was by the violation of the law under which they were at that time. Mortality could not come without violation of that law and mortality was essential, a step towards our exaltation. Therefore, Adam partook of the forbidden fruit, forbidden in a rather peculiar manner for it is the only place in all the history where we read that the Lord forbade something and yet said, ‘Nevertheless thou mayest choose for thyself.’ He never said that of any sin. I do not look upon Adam’s fall as a sin, although it was a transgression of the law. It had to be. And Adam came under a different law. The temporal law. And he became subject to death. The partaking of that fruit created blood in his body and that blood became the life-giving influence of mortality” (Joseph Fielding Smith, The Atonement of Jesus Christ, Brigham Young University Speeches of the Year [25 Jan. 1955], 2). ■ “The adversary, Lucifer, through the serpent, beguiled Eve and deceived her and induced her to eat of the forbidden fruit. “It was not so with Adam. . . . He knew that unless he did partake there would be an eternal separation between him and the partner that God had given to him, so he transgressed the law. . . . Because had he not partaken of the fruit, they would have been eternally separated” (Cannon, Gospel Truth, 1:24). ■ “Adam voluntarily, and with full knowledge of the consequences, partook of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, that men might be. . . . For his service we owe Adam an immeasurable debt of gratitude” (Marion G. Romney, The Message of Seminary and Institute Teachers [address to seminary and institute employees, 13 July 1966], 5). C. The Fall brought about significant changes for Adam and Eve’s posterity. ■ “When Adam, our first parent, partook of the forbidden fruit, transgressed the law of God, and became subject unto Satan, he was banished from the presence of God, and was thrust out into outer spiritual darkness. This was the first death. Yet living, he was dead—dead to God, dead to light and truth, dead spiritually; cast out from the presence of God; communication between the Father and the Son was cut off. He was as absolutely thrust out from the presence of God as was Satan and the hosts that followed him. That was spiritual death. But the Lord said that he would not suffer Adam nor his posterity to come to the temporal death until they should have the means by which they might be redeemed from the first death, which is spiritual” (Joseph F. Smith, Gospel Doctrine, 432). ■ “Not subject to death when he [Adam] was placed upon the earth, there had to come a change in his body through the partaking of this element—whatever you want to call it, fruit—that brought blood into his body; and blood became the life of the body instead of spirit. And blood has in it the seeds of death, some mortal element. Mortality was created through the eating of the forbidden fruit” (Smith, “Fall—Atonement—Resurrection—Sacrament,” 125). ■ “When Adam came into this world, he was not subject to death. He was immortal. He could have lived forever. Had he remained in the Garden of Eden and not transgressed the law that had been given to him, he and Eve would have been there yet. . . . “. . . Adam had not passed through a resurrection when he was in the Garden of Eden, and having not passed through a resurrection, spirit and body could be separated by the violation of the law. And the Lord provided the law so it could happen, because the mortal estate in which we find ourselves is absolutely necessary to our exaltation” (Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, 1:91). ■ “The ‘natural man’ is the ‘earthy man’ who has allowed rude animal passions to overshadow his spiritual inclinations” (Spencer W. Kimball, in Conference Report, Oct. 1974, 161; or Ensign, Nov. 1974, 112). ■ “This being ‘conceived in sin’ [ Moses 6:55 ], as I understand it, is only that they are in the midst of sin. They come into the world where sin is prevalent, and it will enter into their hearts, but it will lead them ‘to taste the bitter, that they may know to prize the good.’” (George Q. Morris, in Conference Report, Apr. 1958, 38). D. The Fall was a purposeful step in God’s plan of salvation. ■ “We came into this world to die. That was understood before we came here. It is part of the plan, all discussed and arranged long before men were placed upon the earth. When Adam was sent into this world, it was with the understanding that he would violate a law, transgress a law, in order to bring to pass this mortal condition which we find ourselves in today” (Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, 1:66). ■ “Did they [Adam and Eve] come out in direct opposition to God and to his government? No. But they transgressed a command of the Lord, and through that transgression sin came into the world. The Lord knew they would do this, and he had designed that they should” (Brigham Young, Discourses of Brigham Young, 103). ■ “The first step in salvation of man is the laws of eternal and self-existent principles. Spirits are eternal. At the first organization in heaven we were all present, and saw the Savior chosen and appointed and the plan of salvation made, and we sanctioned it” (Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 181). ■ “When Adam was driven out of the Garden of Eden, the Lord passed a sentence upon him. Some people have looked upon that sentence as being a dreadful thing. It was not; it was a blessing. . . . “In order for mankind to obtain salvation and exaltation it is necessary for them to obtain bodies in this world, and pass through the experiences and schooling that are found only in mortality. . . . “The fall of man came as a blessing in disguise, and was the means of furthering the purposes of the Lord in the progress of man, rather than a means of hindering them” (Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, 1:113–14). ■ “If we cannot be good, except as we resist and overcome evil, then evil must be present to be resisted. “So this earth life is set up according to true principles, and these conditions that followed the transgression [of Adam] were not, in the usual sense, penalties that were inflicted upon us. All these . . . that seem to be sad inflictions of punishment, sorrow, and trouble are in the end not that. They are blessings. We have attained a knowledge of good and evil, the power to prize the sweet, to become agents unto ourselves, the power to obtain redemption and eternal life. These things had their origin in this transgression. The Lord has set the earth up so we have to labor if we are going to live, which preserves us from the curse of idleness and indolence; and though the Lord condemns us to death—mortal death—it is one of the greatest blessings that comes to us here because it is the doorway to immortality, and we can never attain immortality without dying. “So these are all real blessings. We come to the earth with all these conditions arranged as they are so that we have to struggle constantly against evil, struggle to preserve our lives, struggle for everything of true value—that is the thing for us to understand—this is the course of life that is most desirable, and for our good. We have no need to find fault with these conditions. The Lord has ordained them all for our welfare and happiness” (Morris, in Conference Report, Apr. 1958, 39). E. In this life we are subject to enticements of the flesh and the Spirit. ■ “Man is a spiritual being, a soul, and at some period of his life everyone is possessed with an irresistible desire to know his relationship to the infinite. He realizes that he is not just a physical object that is to be tossed for a short time from bank to bank, only to be submerged finally in the everflowing stream of life. There is something within him which urges him to rise above himself, to control his environment, to master the body and all things physical and live in a higher and more beautiful world” (David O. McKay, in Conference Report, Oct. 1928, 37). ■ “Man has a dual nature; one, related to the earthly or animal life; the other, akin to the divine. Whether a man remains satisfied within what we designate the animal world, satisfied with what the animal world will give him, yielding without effort to the whim of his appetites and passions and slipping farther and farther into the realm of indulgence, or whether, through self-mastery, he rises toward intellectual, moral, and spiritual enjoyments depends upon the kind of choice he makes every day, nay, every hour of his life” (David O. McKay, Gospel Ideals, 347–48). Our heavenly father ask for us to rise ourselves above the worldy things (by heeding to his laws and ordinances), for he is above all. He's giving us the chance to choose (that free agency, freedom of choice)whether we want to be like him (and with him) or be far from him, and it all comes down to our volunteering will. I'm sure you can witness by your own eyes his grace and mercy amongst us, because we are prone to sin ever since the fruit of knowledge was bitten. With the love that our Heavenly father has for us he sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ, our savior, our king. His examples should hold witness to the glory of our father when he resurrected (now that's something you also must believe...that you will be resurrected if you follow him). The more we are able to understand our father in heaven the more things makes sense, why there was war in heaven. We must wear our spiritual armors to protect us from inclinations, desires, and weaknesses. And you think that those who possessed by the demons are protecting themselves? Some are willing to be possessed.... Indulging in there free agency!
  10. It is my fervent prayer that one day we will know the cause of non-reproductive sexual unions, and know that it is genetic, not the product of some dark inner desire. Hi Hala401, this is a matter that doesn't apply to me, but I just can't help but feel the need to help others. As taught as a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of These Latter-days we must understand and apply the "Word of Wisdom". The word of wisdom is for our physical and spiritual benefit. Now, we are all gods children and it's obvious (if you're a member of the church) that he has created a place that we may dwell with him in happiness. To identify that we are his children we must be able to acknowledge and accept his teachings of how we came about on earth.
  11. Pain and heartache comes in many different circumstances, and sometimes depending on o others can't fill that emptiness that yearning to feel how we did before we were hurt. With our savior's atonement and understanding his examples can enlighten ourselves with hope, happiness, and fill that hole of confusion. I would love to share a article from a LDS website, if you've read it maybe others who haven't can...I'll add a link. The Greatest Test a Marriage Can Have - Ensign Aug. 1988 - ensign
  12. Hi GaySaint, I don't know if you will come upon my comment and if you do I would like to thank you for sharing your concerns about these type of things. I honestly have no position to give you advice or suggestions because I myself am not perfect. I know one thing though is that when I have a brother or sister in concern about progressing spiritually like myself, I would seek through them and trust sometimes their answers aren't to my satisfaction. :) Honestly, I googled about this and asked heavenly father in my mind how could I help another who may be in need of some spiritual nourishment. I figured we are all entitled to strengthening ourselves because in the end it's our voluntary choice whether we want to acknowledge ourself, be willing to change for the good (our heavenly father) and move forward. I found a lovely excerpt and I don' t know your standing as far as religiously, but here is something I would love to share. I personally can attest that I relate to this myself in so many ways, and it has helped enlighten me. :) here is a direct link: LDS.org - Family Chapter Detail - God Loveth His Children
  13. This is why I asked is Socialism a divine principle or a theory derived from men to be used by men? It's important not to rationalize or use juxtapo'sition when trying to understand heavenly fathers plan. It's been already perfected and is "as is". That's why there is no need to reprove and petition for changing heavenly fathers law, but to voluntarily dedicate ourselves as servants and leaders for those who don't have such knowledge.
  14. What I don't follow is where do you get that socialism is full charity? I would like to share a link, I also pasted the body of the website here: http://http://www.latterdayconservative.com/faq/is-socialism-wrong-and-what-is-socialism/ Also another link that relates: The War in Heaven on Earth Today The War in Heaven on Earth Today – Latter-day Conservative I believe that socialism is wrong because I see many socialist who dictate but never participate in helping improve California from the inside out, I stay in East Oakland where I see homeless in every corner. The state is focused on budget cuts from the welfare system, cutting self-sufficiency programs and has minimal job opportunities. One of the main concerns is a social movement involving "Gay Rights", this movement has become more important than the educational system. We have campaigns that are promoting "Vote No on C", this will gradually take away the education from the youths of today and tomorrow. I pray for my two kids, I have hardship supporting them and I'm a single mother. I know that through church and hardwork I am able to accomplish much, that is why I am here today. Trust the adversary works in his wicked little schemes of self-pitty, self-worth, he delighteths in making me feel miserable and weary. With heavenly father and Jesus Christ embracing me through the holy spirit and the gospel I am able to thrive and overcome the many obstacles.
  15. You state that "The more I talk about this, the more it becomes clear to me. Those who CHOOSE to live in full charity - no desire to accumulate posessions for their own self but only for the good of society - will be separated from those who will not choose to live it." I'm confused.....what's wrong with full charity? Kingdoms of Glory Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all people will be resurrected. After we are resurrected, we will stand before the Lord to be judged according to our desires and actions. Each of us will accordingly receive an eternal dwelling place in a specific kingdom of glory. The Lord taught this principle when He said, "In my Father's house are many mansions" (John 14:2). There are three kingdoms of glory: the celestial kingdom, the terrestrial kingdom, and the telestial kingdom. The glory we inherit will depend on the depth of our conversion, expressed by our obedience to the Lord's commandments. It will depend on the manner in which we have "received the testimony of Jesus" (D&C 76:51; see also D&C 76:74, 79, 101). Lets not construe nor persecute but lead with correct principles that are referenced in the scriptures. And I apologize if I misunderstood because your statement "When Jesus Christ rules the earth, you will find that the perfect Law of Consecration will be fully required of each and everyone of us and everything that we are, everything that we have, will be dedicated to the Kingdom of God. EVERYTHING. Do you mean possession? I thought that we are taught we don't take any possessions but our spirit to the lord. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  16. It all comes down to our own indvidual questions..... Does heavenly father measure us as a society or individually? Are the worth of souls expedient to the eyes of our heavenly father? Are we capable of being Christ like in our deeds? Why does the lord ordain certain men to administer the perfected gospel "Jesus Christ"? Did heavenly father build a nation under his law? And if so where is this nation? Socialism is a theory but to equate it with "Law of consecration" is heinous because this (law of consecration) is a sacred law of morals, line upon line guidance, and heavenly fathers plan. Whereas, socialism was a theory derived from men to be understood by men without the true understanding and significance of our heavenly fathers plan. That is why there is the laws of men and laws of higher powers and that the American constitution is to separate religion from state. Laws of the state, supreme, judicial and constitution if we unite utilizing the socialism theory of men then we are trying to perfect a law that deems us incapable of heavenly fathers law which is above all. It would be like we would reason with heavenly father to lower his expectations of us. Now is that being humble? To oppose to a higher understanding of our heavenly father by equating socialism against him instead of proving ouselves for him? And socialism contradicts the purpose of Jesus Christ's Atonement, because it would be like we don't need to go through Jesus Christ to return to heavenly father (which we do). And heavenly father doesn't distribute earthly materials because it has no value to him, why do you think we are easily tempted by our adversary to be influenced by such things? Why are we given the opportunity to distribute amongst each other? It's a test of our faith, integrity, and loyalty to heavenly father that we desire him. Satan wants us to be confused and always seek for reproval to rationalize our iniquities, Jesus Christ teaches us humility, accountablity, and responsibilities for our own eternal salvation after all we must sacrifice change for the greater goodness of our hearts and faithfulness to heavenly father.
  17. Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is a abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight. Question: Where in the definition of Socialism does it state a "Just" principle? Answer: It does not, because socialism is characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles. Proverbs 12:1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. The instruction by our savior that we must heed to. We are born with the god-given entitlement of the spirit and free agency, yet we do not know where we want to be with our father or with the worldy ways. Our father in heaven has given few men to stand as witnesses of his grace yet we do not acknowledge their testimonies. I.E. prophets, priesthood holders, Young women leaders, ourselves...etc Note:This is my understanding everyone is entitled to their own.... The supreme knowledge and answer for us to choose upon basically the light being "Good" or the evil being "dark". Honestly, I myself is like the wind blowing in every which way I may be influenced but with the knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ (the iron rod) I've been able to learn through my adolescence what was instilled in me since I was born compassion, integrity, and hope. This is a beam "spirit" that we all possess and are entitled to strengthen to make bright as the north star or let it diminish with emptiness. Also in many socialist tactics I've witnessed many who want to reproof the constitution but not informing the people that we are the ones that should look into making changes and a difference. Since it clearly states "We the people" in the constitution why is it that Americans are not educated accordingly so that we may improve our own country? Imagine if our Education was focused on the histories of the spirit our founders had in building a country, the framers of the constitution was knowledgeable to make such principles that holds true and of good cause through time. I truly believe that America the beautiful is a country that was inspired by our heavenly father with principles that even the scriptures teach. How miraculous to know that America has a legal document that consecrates its traditions, philosophy, religion, and intellects with our "Creator" (heavenly father). That document is "The Declaration Of Independence", now my question is are you American? These are solutions of what I've sought for in regards to our country. My earthly parents were born in Tonga a small tiny island in the Pacific Ocean. My dad was born to a family that helped spread the gospel of "The Church Of Jesus Christ" to the people in the village. My mom was converted at a young age....however, they wanted to come to America because they believed it to be the promise land. My great grandfather on my fathers side was the conductor and composer for the Liahona High School. A school that was established through the Mormon church. I'm very grateful for my heavenly father to enlighten me with such brothers and sisters from my ward who introduced genealogy. I know that the Church Of Jesus Christ Of These Latter-days is a true church inspired by our heavenly father and distributed amongst the leaders with good spirits. The gospels, teachings, and daily doses of the mormon messages strengthens my morals and uplifts my spirit. These things I say humbly in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
  18. The sad thing is socialism can be perverted!!! Hence, Masses and Mainstream. Socialism has no foundation for law, principles and morals but only exploitation. This is what Howard Fast said: “In Russia, we have socialism without democracy. We have socialism without trial by jury, habeas corpus or ... protection against the abuse of confession by torture. We have socialism without civil liberty ... We have socialism without public avenues of protest. We have socialism without equality for minorities. We have socialism without any right of free artistic creation. In so many words, we have socialism without morality.” And you wonder why socialism seems to lead to the decline of religion. My point is that socialism, capitalism, communism will never be the solution, testified through history. The church teaches us to adhere to Jesus Christ examples and to repent through him. We're taught to do unto others as we would want done unto ourselves. Unfortunately, the united states is incompetent to stand up for righteousness that is why there is a chosen few who can lead and administer the gospel amongst everyone. We are taught wickedness never was happiness and that cleanliness is next to godliness. Solution starts with us as a member of "The Church Of Jesus Christ Of These Latter-days" to be uplifting, an example, do good deeds that can influence the rise of heavenly fathers nation. Solution: John 3:1-36 1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. 9Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14¶And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16¶For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18¶He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For every one that doeth evilhateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21But he that doethtruth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. 22¶After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judæa; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. 23¶And John also was baptizing in Ænon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized. 24For John was not yet cast into prison. 25¶Then there arose a question between some of John’s disciples and the Jews about purifying. 26And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. 27John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. 28Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. 29He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 30He must increase, but I must decrease. 31He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. 32And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. 33He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. 34For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. 35The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
  19. Depending on what the "CRY" is? In every predicaments is a solution "Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed." The Delcaration of Independence America has become accustomed to evil morals and injustices which has diluted the "American Ideal". Many are lost in dispair that they do not have hope, whereas, being a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ I've been blessed with the knowledge that I am not alone. https://www.lds.org/youth/video/dare-to-stand-alone?lang=eng Being a member of the Church prepared me to be steadfast to people who challenges me as an individual whether it's regarding my knowledge and faith. The need to be accepted is a selfish movement that seeks for only personal gain. Our heavenly fathers law is above mens own understanding that we cannot interpret unless we've seeked in him for the solutions through Jesus Christ, prayer, and reading the scriptures. The government was only made to distribute order amongst us that is why it's limited by us. To conform with socialism conflicts with our own individual conscience. Disabling us from the ability to have free agency, to live freely by our own discretion. The more I contemplate on being a member of the church of Jesus Christ Of These Latter-days the more I'm grateful. 13. In sum, the word "equal" in the Declaration of Independence means, first, spiritual equality (equality in the sight of God) and, second, equality in the sight of Law (basically the people's fundamental law, the Constitution)--primarily equality in Freedom from Government-over-man. Now when a socialist cries, does that socialist motives as to why they cry is injustice because of a transient cause?
  20. So what is the solution? An article that I've read, which I find interesting, but yet do have some differences with: Read more: Articles: Our Elective Despotism It's obvious that this country is in "Elective Despotism". What can we do to ammend that? What do you think could minimize "Elective Despotism"?
  21. someone quoted in another thread about this....but I'm going to continue by quoting EarlJibbs: Could it be that the law of consecration is a god given right for everyone to practice as they freely choose spiritually that our country is not as spiritual to adhere to such principles? That's exactly what "The Declaration Of Independence" conveys, the whole aspect of it is inevitable. Referencing: There are those who claim that if the civil government acknowledges God, it is practicing “religion” which is prohibited by the First Amendment’s establishment clause, which allegedly requires the “separation of church and state.” This view ignores the legal documents that articulate the American philosophy of government. A governmental philosophy that presupposes the existence of the Creator is essential to fundamental legal concepts such as equal protection under the law, due process, and unalienable rights. The Declaration of Independence, the legal covenant that brought the United States of America into existence, specifically declared the philosophy of government upon which our nation was to be built. “All men are created equal, … they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.” The political philosophy that presupposes the existence of the Creator God is no more “religion” than a political philosophy that presupposes no Creator God (socialism and communism). In the classic book, The American Ideal of 1776, the author documents and explains 12 fundamental principles that are central to the philosophy of government of the United States. IBLP has obtained a limited quantity of these out-of-print books. Though written in 1963, the information remains just as applicable to us today. By Hamilton Abert Long Hardback; 398 pages ISBN 0-911-668-02-0 Your Heritage Books, Inc. Education of the "American Ideal 1776" is key to allowing this country to prevail with principles that will help in every corner of the United States. We study invasions, we study political warfare, we study america colonizing, and we study races. We don't study principles that this country was built on, that actually applies to everyone now. I've read an article: Thomas Jefferson warned us of the danger of "elective despotism:" "They should look forward to a time, and that not a distant one, when a corruption in this, as in the country from which we derive our origin, will have seized the heads of government, and be spread by them through the body of the people; when they will purchase the voices of the people, and make them pay the price. Human nature is the same on every side of the Atlantic, and will be alike influenced by the same causes. The time to guard against corruption and tyranny, is before they shall have gotten hold of us. It is better to keep the wolf out of the fold, than to trust to drawing his teeth and talons after he shall have entered." I am very grateful to read everyone's input on this....I am anxious to read more. :)
  22. Wow, I'm so fascinated by all the opinions and the intellectual contributions to this thread. Rosabella you are insightful beyond words in a very humble and meek ways. I totally believe that our government has been corrupted with socialism. We have social fads such as the people who think that their human rights are violated, so they utilize propaganda in a disrespectful way of de moralizing the spiritual principles that this constitution was built from. Its gotten so bad to the point americans don't like being american (how sad, where is patriotism?). Some social propaganda go so far as to victimize themselves and the media desensitizes moralities with accepting immorality, what is the "American Dream"? To be governed by capitalist industries, lobbyist, elite parties who support themselves in the house of representatives while the 99% "We The People" labor for them to reap? What happened to "I have a dream" MLK and "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country". I find no type of patriotism in America whatsoever since JFK, because media fixates the uneducated, promotes the people be gullible, glamorizes war and rich people. How does all these support our Father in heaven? Answer: it doesn't. Heavenly father in the bible did not have men go to war to take from other contries, but he supported men with valor to fight for the safety of there family and home. I believe that the "Book Of Mormon" is true, look into the wise men who wrote the "Declaration Of Independence" and this is prior to the constitution bills of rights that has been reprimanded and tainted with people seeking to rid the constitution of principles. Heavenly father did prepare and enlighten these "Wise Men" who solely believed in him. A Principle of the Traditional American Philosophy 1. The Spiritual is Supreme ". . . all men are created . . . endowed by their Creator . . ." (Declaration of Independence) The Principle 1. The fundamental principle underlying the traditional American philosophy is that the Spiritual is supreme--that Man is of Divine origin and his spiritual, or religious, nature is of supreme value and importance compared with things material. Religious Nature 2. This governmental philosophy is, therefore, essentially religious in nature. It is uniquely American; no other people in all history have ever made this principle the basis of their governmental philosophy. The spiritual brotherhood of men under the common fatherhood of God is a concept which is basic to this American philosophy. It expresses the spiritual relationship of God to Man and, in the light thereof, of Man to Man. To forget these truths is a most heinous offense against the spirit of traditional America because the greatest sin is the lost consciousness of sin. The fundamentally religious basis of this philosophy is the foundation of its moral code, which contemplates The Individual's moral duty as being created by God's Law: the Natural Law. The Individual's duty requires obedience to this Higher Law; while knowledge of this duty comes from conscience, which the religious-minded and morally-aware Individual feels duty-bound to heed. This philosophy asserts that there are moral absolutes: truths, such as those mentioned above, which are binding upon all Individuals at all times under all circumstances. This indicates some of the spiritual and moral values which are inherent in its concept of Individual Liberty-Responsibility. An Indivisible Whole 3. The American philosophy, based upon this principle, is an indivisible whole and must be accepted or rejected as such. It cannot be treated piece-meal. Its fundamentals and its implicit meanings and obligations must be accepted together with its benefits. The Individual's Self-respect 4. The concept of Man's spiritual nature, and the resulting concept of the supreme dignity and value of each Individual, provide the fundamental basis for each Individual's self-respect and the consequent mutual respect among Individual's. This self-respect as well as this mutual respect are the outgrowth of, and evidenced by, The Individual's maintenance of his God-given, unalienable rights. They are maintained by requiring that government and other Individuals respect them, as well as by his dedication to his own unceasing growth toward realization of his highest potential--spiritually, morally, intellectually, in every aspect of life. This is in order that he may merit maximum respect by self and by others. Some Things Excluded 5. This concept of Man's spiritual nature excludes any idea of intrusion by government into this Man-to-Man spiritual relationship. It excludes the anti-moral precept that the end justifies the means and the related idea that the means can be separated from the end when judging them morally. This concept therefore excludes necessarily any idea of attempting to do good by force--for instance, through coercion of Man by Government, whether or not claimed to be for his own good or for the so-called common good or general welfare. It excludes disbelief in--even doubt as to the existence of--God as the Creator of Man: and therefore excludes all ideas, theories and schools of thought--however ethical and lofty in intentions--which reject affirmative and positive belief in God as Man's Creator. The Truly American Concept 6. Only those ideas, programs and practices, regarding things governmental, which are consistent with the concept that "The Spiritual is supreme" can justly be claimed to be truly American traditionally. Anything and everything governmental, which is in conflict with this concept, is non-American--judged by traditional belief. This applies particularly to that which is agnostic, or atheistic--neutral about, or hostile to, positive and affirmative belief in this concept based upon belief in God as Man's Creator. There is not room for doubt, much less disbelief, in this regard from the standpoint of the traditional American philosophy. Its indivisible nature makes this inescapably true. This pertains, of course, to the realm of ideas and not to any person; it is the conflicting idea which is classified as non-American, according to this philosophy. America a Haven For All Religions 7. The traditional American philosophy teaches that belief in God is the fundamental link which unites the adherents of all religions in a spiritual brotherhood. This philosophy allows for no differentiation between them in this unifying conviction: ". . . all men are created . . . endowed by their Creator . . ." This philosophy is all inclusive as to believers in God. Although America was originally colonized predominantly by adherents of the Christian religion, and principally by Protestants, the Founding Fathers steadfastly conformed to this all-embracing character of the approach of the American philosophy to religion. This was expressly and affirmatively indicated in the proclamation of 1776 of the fundamental American philosophy, of its basic principles, in the Declaration of Independence. This was further indicated, negatively, in 1787-1788 by the Framers and Ratifiers of the Constitution--as a "blueprint" for the structure of the then proposed Federal government, with strictly limited powers--by not permitting it to possess any power with regard to religion. This implied prohibition against the Federal government was reinforced by the addition of the First Amendment expressly prohibiting it, through the Congress, from making any law "respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . ."--the words "an establishment of religion" being intended to mean, specifically and only, a church or religious organization which is established, supported and preferred by the government, like the Church of England establishments then existing in some of the States. The Conclusion 8. Belief in Man's Divine origin is the foundation of the fundamental American principle which controls his relationship to government: that Man--The Individual--is of supreme dignity and value because of his spiritual nature. Quotes from The American Ideal of 1776 supporting this Principle. Dang, reading this gets to me all the time....how can you argue that our father in heaven did not prepare these men. It's so firm and poignant that as a member of "The Church Of Jesus Christ Of These Latter-day Saints" I find spiritual relief to know that the constitution was created with men of spirit seeking in favor for "We the people". Oh yeah, under "Some Things Excluded" how awesome is it that we are able to choose of our own free will spiritually that even in the American concept there is no intrusion to force us to believe. It must conjure from ourselves individually. I do not share this to offend but to hopefully educate, because it is required of us from our heavenly father to "LEARN" from our Savior Jesus Christ (who exemplified divine knowledge). Lets not teach our future youths to be dependent but teach them to be leaders, innovators, problem-solvers, and United in the states of America. I humbly share these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
  23. Have you tried utilizing the LDS employment, staff agencies, you don't necessarily have to work in that field you major. I'm sure there are other criteria's that you've attained that can be used in other area's, honestly, your more than just what a degree offers. I don't know why our system wants us to attain degrees yet in some states people with no degrees have experience and skills equivalent to those who are studying. I know when all else fails fast, and pray, speak with the bishop. :) Best of luck to you!
