A day of warning, and not a day of many words
JimmiGerman replied to The Folk Prophet's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
And he's certainly not a diplomat. -
Many sinners don't see what their sin is. And it's been said in this forum what the counterfeit of real love is: it's lust. And what we can see here is the deception consisting in the fact that one mistakes (same gender) sexual desires for love. I wouldn't argue so many different religions' standpoints, because there are not so many really important. And concerning your personal doctrine and own beliefs: I wouldn't be sure the bridge you're talking about is of great architecture.

One of the last good ones I watched was Black Robe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Robe_%28film%29 Dances with Wolves was good as well, and I liked the authentic Lakota that was spoken in some parts of the movie. Both movies I watched synchronized on German TV (but with the original Indian languages in both movies), and Black Robe I watched on You Tube also in English. Here one of my favourite scenes: "I have still other greater things that I can teach you." And "Red Sun" with Charles Bronson, Alain Delon, and Toshiro Mifune. The German film title was "Rivalen unter roter Sonne". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Sun "I tell you what, we'll call it a draw."

Just a question of getting used to...

Once in a tv report about the American health service I've seen how people have used a soldering iron to burn out the dental nerv to get finally rid of their toothache because they couldn't afford the dentist.

Don't know who C.S. Lewis is, but I also think that hell is self-chosen. See all those ones in the world who already have chosen to live in their present hell (because of drugs, violence, sheer greed, lust, crime, hate, denying God, the Spirit, and his grandeur), and who are gonna make their destiny a path to maybe another hell by their own choice.

Just too much thinking. Try to make money and it will do it.

Or the Americanish by JimmiGerman - easy to understand, simple, surely likeable, and without any semantic grandeur.

Sorry, I forgot: maybe a million Dollar man singing with the angels "God bless America".

Looking for specific picture of the Savior...
JimmiGerman replied to cj4soccer's topic in General Discussion
That's right. It's from Heinrich Hofmann. But I don't think it predates the Mormon Church, because Hofmann lived 1824 - 1911, and the Church of Christ (later called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) was established in 1830. Thus, The Lord Jesus Christ, as the picture in the illustrations list in the BoM is called, surely wasn't painted before 1830, I guess. I'd like to know when exactly it was painted, but I couldn't find the year.- 26 replies

I can hardly believe that one gets aspirin in an American hospital (perhaps in developing countries). Though it's an effective substance against pains and inflammations, it can lead to bleedings and would force up the risk during or after operations to an incalculable way. Aspirin in a hospital? No way.

So what you want? As long as you know how the system works, and you know the magic word that makes that big rubber stamp jumping out of the desk immediately, it's all right. Things really seem to be easy in America... and you really think big in uncountable ways, and incredibly big medical bills and rubber stamps give another proof of that.

Maybe. But I know a bit more about history: it was Friedrich der Große, King of Prussia, and it was in the battle of Kolin, when he called to his soldiers in a fury: „Ihr verfluchten Racker, wollt ihr denn ewig leben?“ (You dogs, you want to live forever?) You certainly mean this would be the right credo for the Obama Care?

Hi, sxfritz. Your forum name sounds a bit German. Fischers Fritz fischt frische Fische. (Fisher's Fritz is fishing fresh fishes.)

I once have learned that we either will go to Heaven or to Hell, to be with God and the angels or with the devil and his followers, but never be sent to an island in the ocean of eternity. Which religion is telling you that we would be eternally alone? That really makes me -freeze- ... By the way, even if you stop pointing out most of the differences, where would you find strong similarities between a Christian believing in resurrection and a Buddhist, who, after some rounds of reincarnation, believes and hopes once to end in a state of non-existence which is called the Nirvana?

That's why you need ObamaCare in the US.

Btw. ... investigating the LDS faith doesn't mean you are from the FBI or the German Bundeskriminalamt? -

I agree, math is definitely of the devil. This shows you are not lacking of knowledge! And as long as the sun will be circulating around Earth, a 50 percent of a hundred is still 50, and a 10 percent of 50 is 10. -

Yeah, and I can even hear Satan's awful laughter right now. Oooh, what a terrible laugh! -freeze- And the Americans have never landet on the Moon, it was a big fraud, and we all know it, and the Russians might know it, and the King of Christendom in Rome knows it, or could it be done by witchcraft? And witchcraft is undoubtly known as a counterfeit of priesthood, as mentioned before in this thread, like education is only a worthless counterfeit of knowledge, right? -
What Is the Status Update Thingy?

Try "New Content" - that actually must show you the latest / recent posts of the site. If I click on "View Latest Content" in the upper left hand corner it shows me all recent posts. I don't know exactly what "Status Update" means, but perhaps it shows you the latest posts of those threads where you once have posted s.th. (like in "My Content" where I can find the threads in a descending order where I once have posted s.th.) - that might give an answer why it's showing you some posts "ages ago". I don't know the mobile version of this site (and I didn't even know there was a difference), but it obviously seems to be different, and that's of course why I can't see the constellation / the buttons you are describing. -

I'd also start in the 3rd Nephi, because it's the most special part of the Book of Mormon (it's often called the book within the Book of Mormon). Alma would also be recommendable from my view.
