  1. I was wondering if you caught that. I must admit that I laughed when I saw that. Please don't hurt me Ben!!!

    Football pool

Yeah, like the Raiders!!!! Yes I know they suck, but I've been a fan for over 20 years now, so I'm not going to stop.
  3. I saw that the other day and laughed harder than I had laughed in a long time. Nothing like a 78 year old man punching a loser who probably lives in his mom's basement.
  4. I've been told that I look like a cross between Brad Pitt and Danny Devito.
  5. It's amazing how fast the technology has and still is changing. In 37 years I've gone from 8-tracks and LP's to cassettes & Videotapes, to CD's & DVD's, to an iPod that will play both. I remember making mix tapes, then mix CD's. Now I just create a play-list. Next piece of technology that I get is an iPhone, but that's a couple of years away.
  6. All the time. I've taken both automatics and manuals off road and found very little difference between the two.
  7. Hey!!! I have an automatic 4x4 truck, what's your beef with those???Personally, commuting in a standard is a pain in the.......well you know. Especially in a truck. However when I replace the truck, I will get a standard car. They are way more fun to drive!!!!
  8. It obviously didn't work because they never made a penny. We just bought a car this past weekend. I researched the different cars that my wife said that she would like, we're replacing her car, so her choice. I let her know which ones I thought would be best. We went out and test drove a couple. We drove a 2007 Honda Fit on Saturday. The "salesman" wasn't pushy at all. We drove it, liked it, and made an offer. They pretty much gave us what we wanted on our old car, and walked out with a deal. Now the financing part. My wife applied for credit through the car lot, and was approved within minutes. Now we're just waiting for a better interest rate.
  9. I've had good salespeople and bad salespeople. I've been a salesperson for cars and for tires. Car sales is a tough gig. You spend hours sitting around doing very little, work 6 days a week, all for a few hundred dollars on a sale. The best month I ever had, I was the top sales rep for the dealership, and still barely had enough to pay the bills. Now, when I go car shopping, I educate myself about the model I'm looking at before I go look at it. This way, I don't take the salesperson at their word.I find that most, not all, car salespeople don't really know what they are selling, or want to put you into the special of the week. Personally I love car shopping. It's like a dance that happens between the sales rep and the customer. My advice, go in knowing what you want and tell the sales rep exactly what you want and need. Listen to his/her suggestions, test drive a few models, and shop around. We've been looking for a "new" car for a couple of months now and have driven 2 cars. We are going this weekend to drive a few more, but it will still be a week or so until we pull the trigger, unless we find the perfect car for us. Good Luck!!!! and have fun.
  10. Because they have beds that never need to be made.BTW ~ I'm 37 and have a truck, and will probalby always have one. MY wife seriously dislikes my truck and wants me to get rid of it the first chance I get.
  11. Really? When I took part in my nieces blessing, in Utah, I never spoke with the Bishop, didn't even meet him, didn't know his name.Although maybe he took one look at you and decided you were a trouble maker, so he better double check.:p
  12. If you look on Youtube (can't access it at work) there is a show called "Top Gear" from England that smashed a smart car into a barrier at 70 MPH. You should check out that footage. It's not as bad as you think. The Fiat 500 is supposed to be here by the end of next year, as well as the Ford Ka, and the Chevrolet Spark, but these will have better equipment than the Nano. Plus, by the time they get it certified for use, it will cost a lot more.
  13. Our whole ward is like this, according to my wife. We try and ignore it.
  14. UPDATE: I was laid off again (the day of my ex grandmother-in-law's funeral) and again it was recinded the very next day, what an emotional rollercoaster. I was told today that there is a 99% chance of me staying on till the end of the year! That's a big weight off my mind. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers and suggestions.
  15. Sorry, Pale made me do it.
  16. The Mods on this site are great. There was one, I'm not sure if he is still a mod though. He was Canadian, I forget his name, I think people called him CM?? He was the best Mod EVER!!!!!! But Pam is the oldest!! :p
  17. Let's see. I drove to work (40kms) in my truck to my job witch is helping oil and gas companies destroy Northern Alberta (at least according to National Geographic) I'm joking of course. I did drive to work, but it wasn't in my truck. I do however work in the Oil & Gas industry, but our company is one of the greenest around, at least that's what they tell us. BTW ~ It's supposed to snow here and be cold for the rest of the week, so they should stop calling it Global Warming and refer to it as Climate Change, as that's what it really is.
  18. Well, I'd be out of a job to start with.
  19. At least you won't be alone. I'll be there with you.
  20. Actually, the work I do is in an office. I haven't gone out to site yet. Of course the site is about 5 hours away from my office. I just help design them, I don't actually work in the plants themselves.
  21. Well, I got some good news today, they can keep me on until the middle of May, then another project might be starting up and I can maybe go onto that project!!!
  22. YES!!!!!!Of course, I was born there, so I'm more perfect.
  23. The problem is that there is ALWAYS a chance that you can see your breath no matter what day it is. It has snowed every month of the year here.
  24. I must admit that when I read the title of this thread, I thought it was about nudism. Then I saw it wasn't started by finnian. My wife hates doing laundry as well. We separate into 3 bags - whites, reds, darks. My sons stuff gets washed separate from ours, you never know what's in those clothes.
