  1. That took about 1 minute to find. This stuff is quite common. I guess what comes around, goes around.....
  2. The Temple was already trashed when He got there...so He cleared it. ;-) Just another rowdy lawbreaker. Me and him would have gotten along fine when I was younger. He'd have his wine. I'd have my beer. We'd party. And go "clean" a Temple.
  3. Please, just let's be nice and Christ-like in our exchanges. But I am.... I am being like the Jesus that went in and trashed a Temple.
  4. As Christians, we have the right and responsibility to repeal unconstitutional laws which break down our traditional family values in this country. The majority rules! Actually, we have a Constitution partially as a protection against the abuses of the majority. Besides, much as the Athiests and non-Christians would struggle badly in a Christian theocracy, so to would the Christian minorities such as the LDS and JW's. Those groups would be toast in a Christian theocracy. However - and this is what is cool - while Christians are the majority to be sure, not all Christians are practicing, nor are all Christians conservative. Because if they were you wouldn't have a Democratic party, the majority who also call themselves Christians. Case in point on how far you can get with your hypothesis. Conservative Christians were all for those school board folks in Dover, Pa.. Guess what happened? Well they lost in court for one. But they didn't appeal. You know why they didn't appeal? Because other Christians voted that board and replaced them with different Christians. Y'all ain't a block vote I'm afraid.
  5. Great posts TS. I like this idea a lot.... Interesting that this runs parallel to my argument above that Marriage shoud be non-legal. Perhaps religious celebrations should be non-legal too...meaning that churches can use their own money and influence to build their own highly visible symbols.
  6. The choice is clear: Fight the battle of the ballot, or the battle of the bullet. That could be fun. Kinda like in the Middle East. Religious people killing those they don't like... including even other religious people. When does the shooting start? When you gonna start gassing Democrats? Say there 'A'..... you haven't brought a lot of fertilizer and gotten a hold of a rental truck lately have you?
  7. that makes it all OK, right? Of course!
  8. More labeling...is this the voice of Christianphobia speaking? LOL Huh?
  9. And sgallan, don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out! My, my, aren't we full of love this morning....
  10. When special interest groups lobby to subvert our Christian heritage guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, removing Christian symbols from public places, eliminating any trace of Christianity in public schools, and most recently, intimidating Christians into not saying "Merry Christmas", the answer is a definite yes. Poor baby....
  11. In your opinion, what is the most logical explanation? Or should we be content to not know? I don't 'need' to know everything right now. I am willing to let science figure it out. I am not the type of person who say.... well I don't know how this happened so therefore it must be God. You are very right indeed. "Safe?" Mr. Beaver said, "He's not safe! But He's good." See, the God of the Bible has done things that make the Hitlers and Stalins of humanity look like slackers. But because it is 'god' it is somehow okay. In this little ditty, ask yourself, "who are the predators? Why are they condemned?" I'd say this God is a predetor. If such a god exists I am doomed either way. I have a choice of two bad places to go. Can't prove your existence? The fact that you're posting seems like fairly persuasive evidence. You refer to yourself as "I." You exist because you know you exist, you love because you know you love. I know God exists because I actually know Him and love Him. We're friends. It is very good circumstantial evidence to be sure. But it's not infallible proof. Have you fed this dragon? Petted him? Talked to Him? Did this dragon ever stick his neck out for you? Did he take on flesh and die for your sake? Is this dragon a threat to me if I reject him? Does he hold me accountable for any wrong done to you? Maybe. Maybe not. But you disprove it if I said "yes"> Notice I do not dismiss his potential existence off-hand... Wise. I cannot disprove your god either. But as my handle suggests..... when you figure out why you reject all other possible gods, then you'll better understand why i reject yours. But FWIW.... I am not trying to talk you out of your god. I don't need any converts. :)
  12. Much better there Fin. Even if I disagree with some of your conclusions it is a well thought out argument, instead of some narrow view focusing on money. And it's not in the least bit homophobic.
  13. The USA is not perfect, but we were originally colonized by people seeking non-conformity, innovation and freedom. Along with those traits may come more lawlessness. I think I conceeded that point. And I very well may end up in Canada. But my finances are not such I can do so at the moment. If they were I might. My kid may end up with a wrestling scholarship in that country too..... they are more available there.
  14. FWIW Winny, I think Canada is a much better country to live in, and a far better society the is the US. The US - while rich and powerful to be sure - is also a pretty brutal and violent society when compared to first world nations. Of course that may be part of why we are rich powerful and arrogant.
  15. I really would like to get back to Washington DC and spend a week in the museums just absorbing some of our history. Then I would really like to go to Scotland and Ireland and see some of the things I have only read about. If I didn't know better I'd think you were my dad.
  16. Both lifestyles are practiced in open rebellion to God. And religious people molest children too. I guess since some do I could say religion leads to child molestation....
  17. Sgallen, strange you should bring up religion as you claim not to have one -- as an atheist then why are you sitting in front of a computer and not out living what little time you have on the planet? Hmmm..... lets see, Saturday I was at a wrestling tournament with the HS team. Then Sunday I was at a wrestling tournament for the kid. Monday I was tired because we had been to 5 tournaments all over the place in nine days. I did run five miles and took the kid to the skate park. Yesterday I did a little pest control. Prepared a class for next semester. Home schooled. Ran some and helped with a HS/JH practice from 3:30 to 6:00 then ran a little kids practice until 7:30. Today it was pest control till now. Grade some homeschool stuff. Then some shopping, a run, and a wrestling practice later on. Tommorrow will be like yesterday. Friday a mix of work, practice with a friend and his kid who are coming down to visit and workout and another tournament. Saturday day two of a tournament. Sunday a drive into Phoenix to be one of the seeders for Junior High state. Also on the schedule this year is rock climbing. Scuba (the kid will get certified). More wrestling, including a trip to Michigan, Colorado Springs, and Klamath Oregon. Softball coach. Yosemite. Water skiing. Boating in general. Lots of hiking. And more. Is that living enough for ya? Jesus was just a man suffering from narcissistic personality disorder and delusions of grandure, isn't that right? But in a nice way. Part of that message you never seem to have gotten...... Sgallen, strange you should bring up religion as you claim not to have one Are you suggesting I'm lying? Remember, I post as a real person. It is hard to make stuff up when you do that......
  18. Yeah, I don't think there is much room in ol Fiannan's religious niche' for anybody except those exactly like Fiannan.
  19. So the point is.... if you make good money then you are not oppressed? I didn't realize money was that important.
  20. uh huh! Well okay.... since you doubt me. I spend 20 plus hours a week coaching kids. Mostly wrestling but also softball, soccer once, and general conditioning and weight training as well. I am a single dad now, and this is the hang out house for the neighborhood (I think they know their kids are safe here after I had my wife arrested for drugs in the house). Lots of kids. The house is a wreck. I have also done PT for police and fire academy's. I teach distance ed at a college. Most of my students are inmates. I visit them in prison even though it is not required. Prisons are not nice places. I am a doting father who homeschools. I made every single doctors visit when my wife was pregnant and did more than 50% of the raising of the kid before the wife went off the deep end. I do not look for 'stuff', and because of the wife stuff I am downsizing because there are more important things in life than money and stuff. So tell me.... what value is there in your religion that I don't already practice. Protection from a scary god and an eternity with the likes of you. Gee.... that kinda sounds like hell to me. Maybe that it makes one an arrogant pious holier than thou type like you? Ha! I already have that myself.... I don't need your religion for that. You are actually a reason and example why I wouldn't want any religion for my kid. I actually read to the child the words of people like you. Without commentary mind you. Her exact words are usually.... "that is whack". So, I really appreciate your efforts in helping me raise another godless heathen. You rock girl! Her is some picks of my kid a couple of years ago playing with a gold medal winner from Egypt... he really took a liking to her. I post it so it becomes real. And because it annoys some people. I am a godless heathen under the guiles of the adversary afterall..... http://www.amateurwrestlingphotos.com/meng...aber%200079.htm http://www.amateurwrestlingphotos.com/meng...aber%200088.htm http://www.amateurwrestlingphotos.com/meng...aber%200089.htm
  21. I do what I do because I love the Lord and want to please Him. I do what I do because I am a godless heathen. It's still pretty good stuff though....
  22. Gonna have to start up my flying pig.
  23. Its your choice, thanks to the God you didn't choose. Exactly. Raising a kid in this way too.
  24. A very disturbing one. I'm not in the least disturbed about it....
  25. I look at it as a humane thing. When our pets get old, are terminal, and are in obvious pain and distress, we humanely put them to sleep. It is sort of what doctors do with say..... cancer patients. They give them enough drugs to deal with the pain. Eventually the amount it takes to deal with the pain is also fatal to the patient. It is just legalizing what is often already done in end of life situations. Do you think it is just a coincidence that the family at bedside during the death of a loved one?
