    https://www.news-leader.com/story/news/education/2021/05/19/college-ozarks-c-of-o-request-sidestep-anti-discrimination-housing-denied-sexual-orientation-gender/5151236001/
There is a lot of legalese going around exactly what the complaint was and what the ruling means.  But the bottom line is that there would have been no court proceedings at all if the college were allowed to segregate biological males (identifying as females) from biological females in showers, bathrooms, and dormitories.
I am reminded of a proceeding decades ago about BYU housing rules. "Off campus housing" was inspected and approved by BYU standards office.  You then got a special certification that you were "BYU approved housing."
Someone began a lawsuit because they weren't a student at BYU, so why should they have to live BYU standards?  It was in the contract they signed when they moved in.  But they had no intention of living the rules.
As a response, BYU changed the rules and said, "BYU approved housing shall ONLY rent to BYU students."
Knowing the pattern of things, my guess is that there will come a time when the law forces the Church's hand regarding transgenders.  At some point, identifying as transgendered will be grounds for excommunication.  And at the same time, BYU will only accept members in good standing as students or employees.

Times they are a-changing!  I stood in my office at work with no mask!  Only been there half a dozen times since last April.  My work is making the no-mask option available, only for people who are willing to attest they have been vaccinated.  Lying on the form might not get someone fired, but lying on the form and then giving someone covid on site probably would.

Sunday our stake moved to the "make your own health decisions, and be respectful to others that have different opinions and make other decisions" phase. State mandate is still "mask until vaxxed", but in the US there is little to no enforcing that at churches.  So wonderful to see everyone's faces.  Still broadcasting weekly - no end in sight.  One of our stalwart frail older members sat down with a mask on, and stood up after the closing prayer with no mask.  He seemed nervous, but content.

Our passionately zealous 17 yr old lectures us regularly about how we should keep wearing masks even though we've been vaccinated.  She's a couple days away from her 2-week-since-the-2nd-dose mark, and her lectures are losing some of their oomph.

Exchanging happy words with the elderly unmasked greeter at WalMart.  He says "Now I can finally prove to people that yes, I do actually smile.  They never believed me."   It feels weird to walk around grocery stores and order food at restaurants with no mask on.  Feels like I'm doing something wrong.  I have to run through all my facts about why there's no more good reason for me to wear them, other than to follow individual business policies that are swiftly changing.  I expect doctor's appointments and hospitals will be one of the last to drop masks.

At this point, COVID is still demanding to drive slowly in the left lane, so I'm passing on the right.  I still see it out of the corner of my eye - not in the rear view mirror yet.  But soon.

One could argue that *any* law or policy is discriminatory.  Laws against theft discriminate against kleptomaniacs.  Laws against child molestation discriminate against pedophiles.  Laws appropriating funds for the military discriminate against pacifists.  The child tax credit discriminates against the sterile.  The Homestead Act discriminated against farmers who were disinclined to pull up stakes and head west.  And so on, and so on.

The general state of the law is that unless government is discriminating in a way that adversely affects a “protected class”, the courts will not second-guess legislative actions so long as the legislature can be said to have had a “rational basis” for its action (and except in the Obergefell case, there’s an enormous difference between “no rational basis” and “I disagree with your conclusion”).
Politically, I think we’d be far better off of government did a lot less social engineering.  But constitutionally—as for the sort of lawsuit you describe:  I don’t think it would go anywhere.

We had one of our ward woke 'therapist'* get up and cry/tell the entire ward that she didn't feel church was a safe place, basically putting everyone on notice.
To top it off, she waited to be the last person so no one else could comment.  Times when I'm grateful I'm not in the Bishopric.
But hey, at least it wasn't about Rush.

The irony may be lost here.  But the movement did exactly what everyone wanted to have happen.  And then they are surprised that it did so.
Any worthy institution is designed to separate people.  They are designed to make people stand out from the crowd.  While the mindset may or may not be elitist, the result is that it will hopefully generate a reason to think someone is better than others.  I say "better", but I'd use other words.
Accomplished Capable Educated Inspiring The very idea of "inclusive" sounds great simply because it sounds so egalitarian.  And we're all for egalitarian.  But when we mistake equality of opportunity for equality of result, then the only way for that to be accomplished is to make sure that no one accomplishes anything.  That way NO one stands out.
And when no one stands out the social organization fails to do anything meaningful except to say "we included everyone."

I just got some good news today.  The brother in our ward who had the stroke (COVID related) was asked to speak today.  Apparently he's been going through much therapy.  His speech is almost normal.
Just a couple months ago, he sounded like a disabled person.  But today it only showed up in a few difficult sounds.  In a way he sounded like Matthew McConaughey.
It felt so good to see his progress.

Growing up, I heard many slurs against homosexuals and homosexuality. Most of them were heard in my public school; no such things were ever said in my home, and almost none were heard at Church. Those times I did hear such things at Church were invariably from the mouths of one or more of a few young men my age or a little older who thought themselves edgy and cool, and who attended Church only because their parents "made" them.
The only thing I have ever heard taught at Church or by Church leaders about homosexuality is that it is a perversion of sex, a sin, and a practice that we ought never to embrace or even experiment with. That teaching seems pretty much baseline for such a topic. To teach less than that would be to do a grave disservice to our children who need to understand gospel principles.
Again, I do not remember ever having heard a teacher or Church leader demonize someone struggling in sin, including homosexuality. Based on my own experience, I doubt such a thing is common. I appreciate your sincere concern for your brothers and sisters who may be facing such issues, but I suspect many of those who claim to have experienced such bitter persecution have in actuality experienced Church leaders, teachers, and members talking about fleeing from sin and not allowing it to pollute us.

Using bribery/lotteries to get us to do it isn't going to work.
Using threats of "no jab, no job" isn't going to do it.
Using threats of "no jab, no _______": school, flying, dating, etc. isn't going to work either.
The Govt. can't give this stuff away any longer, that should be their clue to leave us alone now.
The more anyone pushes at this point, the more I'm digging my heals in and they are turning a "wait and see" person like myself into a hostile leave me alone person.
