  1. Wonder what the reaction would be if somebody went to the podium and simply said, "Jesus is my savior."?
  2. It's like Jell-O. No need to get our tail ends bunched up on the color or flavor, since they all have the same wiggly goodness in their pages.
  3. Welcome to the Club of Mature Posters. :)
  4. Sounds like you may soon be free-basing college.
  5. This has to be the most twisted consecration ever: This was previously the World Trade Center and as such was part of Camp Mammon. I don't like misplaced sentiment turning the commercial into the Holy. Like saying the holiday buying at Wal-Mart is in honor of the baby Jesus.
  6. Is it more effective than prayers for moisture?
  7. Good point. God must have had something in mind for creating them that way. I too share that concern about homosexuality and promiscuity. Why can't they just get married and settle down like many others, I mean, have they ever thought about that?
  8. My favorite was: "Church is t'woo name Jesus, Amen" Talk about succinct!
  9. Good point. Even the most zealous returned missionary at BYU is unable to fold space.
  10. Out of curiousity, did he get excommunicated for donating money against that California Proposition?
  11. This wouldn't apply to any referendums in California, would it?

    1. Watch out for the edge 2. Be careful about some of those old ladies giving you the eye - you never know where its been. 3. Don't get hustled by any of those shuffleboard sharks. Hope that helps... :)
  13. If I remember right, this was suggested in relation to the Phoenix Temple - what with all that desert out there and all.
  14. The mate certainly knows how to send up red flags, doesn't he? Who wouldn't be worried after a comment like that. Sounds like a bit of immaturity on their part. Have fun but remember, no pirouettes on the first date.
  15. I loved having my daughter with me for the summer, but I had to put her on a plane to go back to Greenbow, Alabama for school. Hopefully when she gets on the bus for her new school, either Jenny or that Gump boy will save her a seat.
  16. What we desire frequently makes us happy until we desire something else. As far as not feeling guilty about the procedure, don't feel guilty.
  17. Most of us are not in the nine test market cities, so were are unaware of the feedback. What precisely do they not like and are there any quotes that do not require an asterisks?
  18. If we in the Church ever had a regular open-mike evening, where people could talk and tell about themselves, kids, vacations, callings, family matters, Glenn Beck, jobs, ect..., would the nature of Sunday Testimony Meetings be different?
  19. I see wisdom in the Church's ads. They are trying to portray Mormons as normal everyday people. Why would anyone dislike or mistrust normal everyday people? It is a simple message and hopefully will be effective.
  20. "Most things can be fixed with Duct Tape." - Red Green ---- Kids loves treats, but always remember not to speak to them as if they were Primary age children. You have a subject to cover and the methods that other High School age instructors use of a syllabus with clear timelines for the materials to be covered can be a great help. The usual Sunday School method of pre-picked select scriptures never gives a good overall understanding of the book being read. Make sure they learn the overall story.
  21. For those who insist a literal Adam and Eve were cloned, remember that even those born in the decanting chambers in Brave New World had an umbilical attachment.
  22. If it would help, ordinances are our name for the sacraments. We even have some such as sealings that are unique to us.
  23. You mean like: T-H-E L-I-Q-O-UR I-S F-O-U-N-D O-N A-I-S-L-E 9 ?
  24. The Church's stated goals have nothing to do with working solely with the truly elect. They include proclaiming the Gospel to the world and the huge Church missionary effort is geared toward continually bringing people into the Church. To that end, being viewed unfavorably by the majority of people (see the most recent FAIR conference: 5 to 2 ratio of unfavorable to favorable) is an impediment to the Church's goals.
  25. Your heart is in the right place. I hope your outreach is successful. When one truly feels out of place, my guess is that well intentioned caring people can help make that feeling dissipate through their outpouring of care and support.
